  1. None of the newer ships have dedicated library spaces. Some of the older ships still do, however.
  2. Ah! Yes...I do not miss those days at all! You might be better off just doing the 4 device plan. Just call it "my vacation surcharge" & don't think about it! 😀
  3. Yes, but assuming a VPN is in play here, they would need to be doing that anyway since they are leaning towards switching out devices. Any time a VPN connection is lost (for most any reason) you will have to re-authenticate.
  4. It's really not a hassle at all. Every time I have done this as soon as you log on with the non-active device it just asks you if you want to switch. You don't have to do anything on that other device at all.
  5. Note that the OP has apparently ghosted us....
  6. Assuming we are speaking of post-cruise...the shuttles start leaving the port as soon as they fill up. Seeing as how we always self-disembark we usual are able to make the first bus. We take the particular bus that goes to Victoria Coach Station because we always stay at a hotel very close in that area. We generally only stay 1 night post-cruise so we can easily make most any flight we want the next day.
  7. LOL! While I'm pretty sure that I could probably achieve what you are describing (I'm a retired network manager...) I don't think there's more than a handful here on CC that have a clue what you're talking about! 😄 No disrespect to *anyone* intended...just that we're talking about some rather sophisticated equipment and setup. Also....that was a rather old thread you've resurrected. Welcome to Cruise Critic!
  8. Port fees don't run very much at all...it's very likely that unless you pay very close attention to your folio you might miss it.
  9. @techfashion...should you decide to go with a private car service, I can personally vouch for Blackberry Cars. We have never used them for an actual transfer to/from the ship, but any time we are in London we use them for transfer to our hotel from LHR and any place we want to go within London. They are VERY professional and reliable. They're not the cheapest...but you'll enjoy the feeling of "special" that they endow!
  10. Given enough force applied...*any* window can be "opened"! 😄
  11. All OBC can be used *anywhere* on the ship...we've used our shareholder in the casino every cruise.
  12. Be prepared for an onslaught of tipping vs not tipping posts! That just seems to trigger everybody's hot button on the forum! We have never done one of these tours you speak of...but it sure sounds like from your description that the recommended tip may be a bit much, considering what he/she is or is not doing. Keep in mind, they may very well be doing things behind the scenes to "keep things on the rails" that you may never be aware of. Also...if something really develops into a train wreck they may be worth their weight in gold serving as the "fixer" for any problems that crop up. It's hard to know what the best course of action might be...we *might* consider a lesser tip if there really is no obvious service being rendered.
  13. All above is correct, though I cannot answer regarding if the OBC is refundable or not. All OBC that we ever have seems to disappear into the deep dark corners of the casino...so I really have no idea!
  14. You could always do "self-disembark" (we always do) to get around any potential issues with luggage holdup. We have done the Princess transfer back to London many times, though we usually are heading to a hotel and leave the next day. The times that Princess builds into that scheduling system is geared towards the absolute "worst case scenario".
  15. @MsTabbyKats...as usual, @skynight has given the definitive answer! Purchasing a pair of Future Cruise Deposits (assuming you cruise as a couple) is (in my opinion) the best way to "get a deal" on a future cruise. Doing so allows you to do your own research *at home* and while you are NOT under pressure from a rep sitting in front of you. An FCD serves as your deposit and also gives you some "bonus" OBC to be used however you wish. We do this all the time. You should give this serious consideration. Why take time away from your *current* cruise to deal with a *future* cruise?
  16. No...cards do not have your cabin number on them.
  17. Apologies...but I did say that it was from a third party site. Sorry to have posted erroneous info.
  18. Not that it will do you much good (probably) there will be a European 220 volt plug behind one of the beds. This is what I always use (with an adapter) to run a CPAP and not have to worry about tripping over an extension cord running across the floor.
  19. No...as I understand it, you forfeit the medallion if you choose to go with a card. (I may be wrong...just something I've seen here on CC.)
