  1. I am booking on the Norwegian Getaway for a 2020 Greek cruise.

My cabin is 13210. When I look at the deck plan it shows that the Splash Academy is right across the corridor. It is not obvious from the plans whether the academy is an open area or whether it is behind walls.

I am not a curmudgeon, but I don't wish to hear little kids playing all the time. Will noise be a problem in this cabin?

    Thank

    Steven

  2. According to the website it is $50 per port. Below is the quote from www.ncl.com

"Dogsledding in Alaska? Sure. How about snorkeling in Belize? You got it. Or mamboing the night away in Havana? That too. Explore more of the shore with a Free $50 Shore Excursion Credit per port. You save up to $200."

  3. Hi Chris,

I took my first cruise in November, and I loved it. One of the things I liked was the pampering of me by all of the crew members that I interacted with.

On embarkation day, my cabin steward gave me a card with his phone number on it. I was hesitant to call him late in the evening, fearing that I would bother him on his time off. Does this phone number redirect to someone else on his off hours or does his phone ring even if he is off?

I signed DW and myself for a tour on Adventure of the Seas recently.  I was mainly interested in the Bridge and had very little interest in the Galley and Engine Room.  They had a window into the bridge so passengers could view (for free).  The blinds were closed most of the time but open when I watched as they pulled out of port one day.  They had displays showing the stations and a brief write-up on each.  I canceled the $89 (each) tours.

The peek-a-boo bridge was interesting on the Mariner also. But it was very interesting actually being on the bridge and asking questions and looking around close-up. The engine control room was also interesting. Was it worth $89. Probably, but once was enough. I wouldn't do it again.

  5. I did the all access tour on the Mariner in this last November. We went in the galley, cold storage, engine control room, laundry, environmental control area, and the bridge. We spent about 20 minute on the bridge and the officer in command answered any and all question that we asked. It was very informative and I enjoyed it, but I would only do it once. It cost $89.

  6. @CruiseGal 99 While I am not a seasoned cruiser, with only one under my belt, I am going to use  my passport and drivers license for travel documents. That worked fine last time out of Miami. I was mainly worried about what to carry on a RC shore excursion, which will be

    • Leave the passport in the safe in the cabin
    • Keep a photo and a hardcopy of the main passport page on my person
    • Keep  the contact information of the port agent (if I can find it) on my person
  7. Am am going to Cozumel in May and taking a rather long excursion that is booked through the cruise line. It should return to the ship about 1/2 hour before sailing. Since I am worried about being left (even though the cruise line says they will not) I plan on bring a copy of my US passport with me. My question is, do I need to bring the actual passport or is a copy good enough? I hate to carry such a valuable thing with me if I do not need to. I have heard people suggest that a copy of the passport should be brought.

Is a copy of the passport good enough to get me on a airplane to catch up with the ship in case I get left?
