  1. Many years ago while I was in Walmart I got a phone call from my TA asking if I had canceled my cruise.  I said no way but somehow she had gotten notified by RCCL I had canceled and wanted to check.  She took care of it and we were glad she called because it would have been a big shock if we had gotten to the port and found out someone at falsely canceled our cruise.  Never did figure out who or how it happened.

So, final comments on this James Javin My Island Tour. It was definitely something different than what we normally do. It wasn't all that bad (yea, I say that now that we have done it and it's in the past and my memory is fading lol) and we got to see more of the island than in the past.

The rain forest was neat and pretty and gave me some great picture opportunities. It was just a strenuous walk for most, both old and young. It was not what I was expecting at all. I had no clue we would be climbing and walking on moss covered rocks/boulders and pulling ourselves up by branches or any of that. But, it was definitely pretty and don't get me wrong, I did like it for the most part.

As for the lava rocks...it was a very pretty area and again, great picture opportunities. The hike down and back up the hill using the rope was somewhat difficult and there a lot of "slips" along the way (no falls). It just kinda aggravated me that they weren't doing their job of holding the rope for people to get back up and just stood there.

The lunch was amazing and very yummy. They had plenty of water along the way as well.

Peaches was a lot of fun and entertained us the entire time.

The old cotton factory...just not my type of thing.

The snorkeling wasn't that good and not something I would ever want to do again. Then the fact that we were pretty much left to struggle on our own with no thoughts about something going wrong or supervision was just plain annoying and unsafe in my opinion. Also the distance in which we had to swim just to get there was crazy and I just think there has to be a way to go down the other side of the beach bar instead.

The beach at Cockelshell...well, just not a place I like and would pick any other beach over that one. But just my opinion.

So, I'll let you all be the judge on whether it would be the right tour for you or not for $95 pp. Our family members did not think it was worth the actual price paid (especially after doing other things during the cruise for a much cheaper price).

Next time I return to St Kitts, it will be a buggy tour for us or a different beach (Frigate since we haven't been there and actually the buggy tour takes you to that beach).

Looks like a tour through the rain forest I would have like about 20 to 30 years ago.  LOL  Looked fun but don't think could do it now.  Know better half would have cared for it.  Also like you not my kind of snorkeling.  We are heading to Bermuda in October and not sure about snorkeling there but will probably still take gear in case I change my mind.  I am like you doing my own thing in the water and find everyone gone or I am off the beaten path checking things out.

  3. Looking at possible sunset cruise that also includes glow worms that would run from 6 to approx 8:30 that leaves from Grotto Bay.  Question is if cruise returns at 8:30 would we still be able to catch the last ferry from Hamilton to the dockyard or would we need to get a taxi?

  4. Also saw you guys went on cruise right before Christmas.  Well we must have past each other while sailing.  We went on Majesty of the Seas Christmas week.  We left Ft Lauderdale on December 22.  Hope you all enjoy the spring break cruise and look forward to the review.

  5. Kim, hope you see this before your cruise.  I remember when you were in San Juan and was going to check out the church but realize your plane was that day.  If you get a chance to see it this time go, it is nice.  Just a couple pics.

  6. OP, Great review. As for the medical charges it was explained to us that if it happens on the ship or one of thier sponsored tours RCCL will take care of everything they do at no charge. But if it happens off the ship and not on one of their tours like it did my wife there is a cost. Even thought wasn't as cost has we were expecting. We were in Roatan, first port day of a 3 port cruise and only 3 day into a 7 day cruise. We were at a beach and she was looking at the pretty beach and missed 3 steps and hurt her ankle. After we finished the tour and went back to the ship she went to see the doctor once they reopened. They took X-rays and sure enough she broke her foot. They wrapped it, gave her pain meds (and they were good ones), crutches and a wheel chair. We continued to enjoy the rest of the cruise as best we could and I will say RCCL gave us first class service in getting around, waiters in dinning room and Schooner bar and getting on and off the ship at ports. She only remembers parts of the trip, like I said they were some good pain meds. :eek:LOL

  7. Was there in April and walking through the RCCL complex they were offering it for 50 or 60 right there. We never left the port area. Boat picked up right near the Cozumel sign and went up not far from the ship.

  8. Liberty of the Seas Review - Continued

We had speciality dining reservations later that day, but were eager to try the “Sabor Modern Mexican” restaurant onboard for lunch. Our waiter, Luis, was absolutely fantastic and truly took pride in his work.

Was Sabor's lunch extra price? We haven't tried it yet but might on our April 15th cruise.

  9. My son and I did it tandem from PB years ago. It’s a blast. You don’t even get wet like in the old days. They hook you up and basically reel you out from the back of the boat. When you’re done the reel you back down.

They say you have about a 10 minute ride. Is this the time from when you leave the boat till you are back on the boat or is it about 10 minute ride after you get to the height. If so how long is the entire ride?

  10. Kim,

I also had trouble with the Hyatt House, beside the discount site that said they would get back to you every other way I looked was booked. Going to be there March 11. Found 2 hotels which were not bad $215 TO 240 Range (higher than I like but for what I was seeing not bad. One was Candlewood Suites (free shuttle from airport and to cruise port I think) and LaQuinta Airport Hotel (near the airport, free shuttle from airport and low fee to port or taxi) got it for $215 a night. Has a good rating and reviews but who knows but for arriving at 7:30 and cruising next day on the Freedom of the Seas will do for one night. I hope. LOL
