  1. Polar Bear pics. I cheated. Sorry I couldn't post that admission yesterday. Internet dodgy. The Ship has an amazing mast cam. It's a GSS Cineflex which broadcasts live around the ship and in suites. The suite TVs are large and high quality LEDs. We were on the bears for a long time 30 minutes to an hour plus each. Amazing experience, but cold. Indoor breaks necessary. For me at least. Here's where the cheating comes in. I filmed the TV. But trust me, watching outside with binoculars was beyond amazing. The bears were about 40 to 50 (?) yards away.
  2. I'm hearing about 190. I'm a crack-a-nooner. 😃 Grabbed pics when we first boarded.
  3. We were told that one siting of a polar bear with a kill was rare. To get 3 in one day, 2 with kills insane.
  4. Lol, you're reading my mind. Haven't had news since Friday. Can't pull up my charts. Is it a breakaway gap?
  5. Sorry all. Polar internet issues. Just came out of the pack ice where we were blown away by 3 extremely rare polar bear sightings . One swimming and two with fresh kills. Will post videos soon. In the meantime how about some ship pictures? She is amazing and we are in love.
  6. Alarm went off at 3:30a.m. to catch the 7:45 flight. We were the lucky ones . Our friends drew the early straw are were on the 5:45 flight. Tough one. They checked all our docs at the hotel and had covid testing for a fee. Smooth process. Busses were on time and comphy. Check in took about an hour. Ready for take off. Venture pics headed your way soon.
  7. If they don't pay up, I suspect there will be some broken knee caps.😃
  8. Delightful day and evening. A trip to to Bygdoy and dinner at Lofoton on the docks. PSA#2 Our friend was pickpocketed on The Fram going down the stairs on the ship. He stopped them. Apparently it's a thing now. Ferry to Bygdoy. The Fram Who doesn't love a good diorama. The model for Ventures cabins. Kon tiki and Fram museum Fram museum Delightful evening on the docks. I can't believe I didn't get tickets to Oral B and Pimp Lotion.
  9. PSA! For those checking in, get a room away from the Rooftop Bar. Music blasts past 3 a.m. Grand not so Grand after all.🤣 Great dinner at Uchi last night. Just a few blocks away.
  10. I have completed faith in you. In fact....I bet you can even get us through this 4176 brick wall.
  11. The Grand Hotel has been nothing but Grand. Classic European with a modern twist. Interesting art collection. We dined with friends at the Grand Cafe. Guess what? It too was Grand. Opening in 1874 the cafe was the place to be for 'Kristianibohems'. Ibsen, Admundsen, Viegland and many others called it home. A little Food Porn Halibut with enoki and beurre blanc A giant bowl of muscles in white wine cream sauce Crispy chicken with spinach & gnocchi. All the plates were scrubbed clean!
  12. Will do. We have just come off the SILVERSEA Cloud in June, and will be on the Wind on October. Should make for some fun comparisons. Here is a link to the Cloud trip. We had an amazing time.
  13. I'll take whales over bears. Whales don't destroy my garbage cans. Imagine if Jack Nicholson was your zodiac driver. 🤣
  14. Thanks. We have made it to Oslo with our bags. Posting on the Seabourn boards if you care to follow.
  15. Greetings from Oslo. It took 2 days and three legs for us to get here. All went seamlessly. We apparently traveled in an alternate universe of no lines and uncrowded airports. Even our bags were at the hotel before we arrived. The dreaded Heathrow was a delight. Polaris lounge had plenty of seats. Minor hiccup, no airport transfer from Seabourn showed up at OSL. Fortunately taxis at Oslo are easy. For those of you joining us on the Venture please feel free to join the thread. The more the merrier, however "rules of civility" shall apply. Lovely view from the Grand Hotel Empty Houston Twilight Zone Immigration at Heathrow. I told you it was a alternate universe. Skoll VID_59010201_004904_030.mp4 This is the subway tram at IAH. It was more like a Kidde Car ride to the petting zoo.
  16. Appreciate these great comments and follow-up about the supposed not-happening recision. That is truly a dishonest "TALE" of wishful fiction that everybody knows is phony. Sadly, it is coming and most have been and will continue to feel the economic mismanagement that has been happening over the past decade by the Fed and others in government. Starting in and around 2012, the Feds should have been slowly upping interest rates to protect from what is hitting now economically. Free money and low interest rates always seem "nice" at the time, but ultimately you pay a price for such in-action. Right? . Exactly!
