Hello John. Thank you for asking and yes I am feeling a lot better now. It's only 3 weeks since the fall so I'm quite chuffed that I feel this well. The pain is lessening every day.

When I got home from the hospital and got settled in, I felt really shocked, and more than anything, I wanted a cigarette. I had kept a "just in case" packet all the time I've been vaping (over a year) and I've never even come close to opening them until that night. I smoked about 10 during a very long night of not sleeping and have carried on smoking for the past 3 weeks I'm ashamed to say.

Now, I've got to start all over again. I know I can do it because I've proved that already but oh it feels like a mountain to climb!

    Jane xx

    From Frank.

Hello Jane. Av has just read me your post.

I can understand your reason for needing to smoke again, and to be honest with you, if I'd had some cigarettes in the house I would have done the same. Luckily Av had thrown every one out, after stamping on them first😁 It's not easy I know, so don't beat yourself up over it. Smoking is very difficult to give up and the fact that you went so long vaping proves that you will have the strenght to do it again when you feel the time is right.

There is no mountain to climb Jane, just one step at a time slowly moving forward and you'll get there. Never stop trying to stop.

One final tip, try not have any cigarettes in the house. When the urge for a cigarette gets too much vape for longer until it goes away. That worked for me.

    Stay strong and good luck👍

An echo is much more involved LL. They look into the chambers of your heart and also the valves to ensure they are working properly. You are right in that it's like a baby scan - completely painless and actually very interesting if the technician is kind enough to point out what he/ she is looking at. Good luck when the time comes. Jane xx

When Frank was in hospital he had 3 over the course of 15 days. It was the same technician each time and he pointed out the slight improvements as his condition improved during his treatment. He was lovely and answered any questions I had. Frank bless him, wasn't interested at all, he just laid there and let him get on with it😁

    Me ... I'm nosy😉

I think I forgot to mention that on phoning as suggested to find out about appt. for an  echocardiogram, it turns out to be a 7 month waiting list!  I am two months into it at present.

I'd consider that good news LL. If they were really concered, I would have thought you'd have had an appointment within a couple of days.

  5. Good morning.

Blue skies, sunshine and calm at the moment. Chilly though, 5c at the moment, but forecast to reach a balmy (or should that be barmy) 11c.

I find it easier to use celsius, but still use feet and inches and pounds and ounces. Probably because enjoying dressmaking and cooking it was much easier to stay with what I knew and avoid mistakes. You can't teach and old dog new tricks, as the saying goes.

I will also add my personal items to  @twotravellersLondon list this morning. I have tried to grow sweet peppers from seed for the last 3 years with no success, until today. I have 1, yes 1 brave little plant🌱 starting to peep through and I am over the moon. It will be the most loved and pampered little plant ever, (if it survives🤞) I also have numbers 1 2 3 4 10 and  number 8 yesterday👍 Both Frank and myself are well as are the family, so who can ask for more.😊

    I hope everyone has a lovely day.x

In that case you're the person to tell us... if a shepherd spy is caught... would s/he be a bit sheepish! And... in answer to the interrogation, would the replies be a bit wooly? And finally... is a meeting of shepherd spies called a flock?

And once convicted are thet baaared from all sheep farms?😊

Good Evening All. Sadly for the last time,  we head for home back to Kent tomorrow.  We have had a very relaxing 2 weeks in the west country,  1st week with son & dil+ grand kids,  weather was a disappointment,  but has improved this past week  in Cornwall, then Devon.

Tonight's menu.  We started with mackerel (dw) me pork/  cranberry terrine. Both had Haddock filet, followed  by pecan tart & Me the orange  cheesecake.

Pic below.   We have enjoyed all the hotel meals,  it is a treat  to not have to decide which meals for each day normally when at home.

As mentioned previously I will post pictures/ re views over on T.A. Once  settled  back home.

Hope you have enjoyed the pictures  along the way. And thanks for the likes & quotes.

Honestly first time I flew SOU-MAN being on a prop was a bit nerve racking but was really enjoyable, comfy to

We flew on a prop from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son and it was great. I was very nervous at first but it was a quieter, smoother and comfortable flight. Even better that it flies lower so you see more.  It felt as though we were just skimming the tree tops. Loved it.

  10. Our first cruise in 2010 was on Arcadia, and over time we have also done two more, the last being in 2016 irc.  I'm surprised that the virus is supposed to very common on her as we didn't encounter any problem at all. It may be common now but not previously, unless we were just lucky

Robins, Blackbirds and Sparrows are regular nesting in ours well way from the house.

It's very dense and helps to protect them from the Sparrow hawk and Magpie.

Our next door neighbour has some tall conifers at the bottom of their garden and they have blackbirds nesting in them every year. We had some conifers too but had them removed as they were taking some of the light from the greenhouse. They would only remove them from November to February because of the birds.

  12. Hello all, I'm late today.

We've been taking advantage of the the lovely weather and I have 3 loads of washing gently blowing in the sunshine. Frank has trimmed the front hedge and cut the front lawn. I've transplanted the Geranium cuttings into  peat pots and now we're having some lunch.

I remember when we would be busy in the garden all day, but now we have to pace ourselves and do a little each day. I'm just thankful we can still do it.

I hope @indiana123 is getting on alright.

Enjoy the lovely day and look forward to another one tomorrow. Sorry @Caullkhead

Avril have you thought about Saga Cruises, much more expensive than P an O but more up market, prices include home pick up and insurance on the love!y smaller adult on!y ships.I think you would love them.

I was surprised with what the included insurance would cover, we used them last year and are booked for this and next year.

They suit us fine since we no longer wish to fly to join our favourite line Azamara

I did look into them but I think the maximum distance for free pick up was 200 miles and roughly calculated the were further away than that.

Bob Dylan is on my list.

I limited it to 10, but there were a number of other songs that could be added.

Could include songs by Wet wet Wet 🤣🤣

'The DayThe Rains Came Down' Jane Morgan.

A real oldie that dad would always play, 1957/8? The lyrics will cheer you up on a rainy day.

What's going on with you lot today?  I can't turn my back for 5 minutes.

I was a bit late getting in here today and there are pages and pages to get through.🤣

We are off later  to London, paying a fortune  for two rooms just to sleep for a few hours,  ready for tomorrows adventures. Needs must as it is a 6 am start.  Just have to pay up and forget.

    Have a good day everyone

We're like Pringles. When we start we can't stop😁

I hope everything goes well for you, and that you can finally get your pain issues  sorted. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow.
