  1. We booked lock it in limited view and then got an upgrade to central sea terrace at the minimum bid of £185. Saved around £800 compared to booking the regular terrace upfront.
  2. With splash of romance you don’t get $100, it has to be Moet.
  3. It’s normal for Brilliant Lady San Juan sailings as that ship isn’t up and running yet.
  4. The only disadvantage to the my next Virgin voyage is that you can’t use it with lock it in rate. With the current free bar tab offer and a lock it in rate we got $600 to spend on drinks and paid around £1000 less for the room anyway using lock it in. Whereas the deposit would have saved us ~£250 and got $600 onboard spend. But of course the lock it in rare means you only find out a few days before what cabin you’ve got and it can be limited view. Although we bid and got a central sea terrace. For the transatlantic where we know we want an XL cabin we did use the MNVV credit as wanted to guarantee the cabin type. But for tomorrows Greek Island and September Med cruises where it’s more about ports the saving on the lock it in rate is fantastic.
  5. You can ask the host stand nicely but they will probably tell you to come back at 9.30pm or so when it’s quieter and they can allocate a table just for two.
  6. yep it seems strange why they made the change as it’s not a liability or covid issue but as you say something was modified after the Uk cruises. I skipped it on a shorter trip too, but on a seven night cruise there is enough time to do everything!
  7. I assume you mean December 2021, all 2020 sailings were cancelled. We sailed August 2021 in the UK covid staycation cruises and everyone was given tongs and encouraged to remove the food from the grill ourselves. Something changed then from the move from UK to US I assume but it was not initially due to covid, we still shared the table with another couple. I’ve always assumed it was cultural and initial guest feedback.
  8. Don’t think it’s a liability issue, we were left to take the meat off the grill ourselves back in 2021. I think it’s more certain guests didn’t understand the concept. Personally I find Gunbae fine, the marinated beef is good and the crispy fried chicken is great.
  9. we booked Greek Island Glow back in March when there was a good discount and we are sailing this Sunday, it was much cheaper than the August/September cruises and we also went for the lock it in rate (still don’t have a cabin number though) and that was around £700 cheaper than the regular rate. So paid under £2500. But it looks like the cruises later in the year are selling better as lock it in rate has sold out.
  10. Yep on my last visit I asked for the marinated beef and just some pork belly only rather than the combo.
  11. When they cancelled Valiant Lady for the Bachelor charter a year ago they were very generous, I think it was 200% credit plus a refund. They have also been generous recently with refunds such as when the ship turned around after a passenger had an accident. I would expect anyone who gets a cancellation for 2024 to get at least another free cruise and a full refund based on past performance.
  12. This should give an idea https://profcruise.com/virgin-voyages-bar-menus-and-drink-prices/ It’s been reported a few prices have gone up though. Standard spirit and mixer is about $9.
  13. Some do, some don’t. Do whatever you want, don’t overthink it.
  14. The ships are broadly identical, from posts I’ve seen there is a new art photo spot between grounds club and social club. Razzle Dazzle has a new evening menu too. Plus all new shows.
  15. I think you can receive the extras if you’ve already done the qualifying cruises or a status match. But a free cruise won’t count towards gaining the status in the future.
  16. Yes, but as you are paying bar prices you are better to not add the bar tab in the first place if you are not certain you will use up all $300 to get the bonus.
  17. What are you confused about? loot can be used on anything, shops normally close 10pm last night as they are only open in international waters. bar tab can only be used on drinks and it’s also best to use it up last night. If you want to buy whole bottles with bar tab you need to buy them from bars not the shop. most cruises come with a free $300 or $600 bar tab due to the recent offers. If you want to pre-pay more then for each $300 you get an extra $50 (unless you have loyalty status). Or you can just spend and the credit card is charged on last night.
  18. The bag normally comes back next day so on a five day cruise it might not be worthwhile anyway. you also get two items pressed and one item dry cleaned (this is the special cleaning as it’s a more environmentally friendly version of dry cleaning chemicals).
  19. I would board, go to the dock, order food and get the cold items immediately and then do event bookings sat in the dock house while waiting for the grilled items to come out. The cold mezze is in a trolley at the dock ready to go. Then go back to the room, unpack, watch the safety video and go to the muster point.
  20. The balcony seats are at the back so not always the best view. for Duel Reality you will only be able to leave from the balcony, the main seating can’t leave as isn’t connected to the balcony for that show and otherwise you cross the performance space. For UntitledDanceParty it is standing on the floor so can leave, or can enter from the balcony for seats but it’s not the best view. For other shows done like traditional theatre all seats normally connect to the balcony so you can leave that way if you want, or via the main exit.
  21. Shortly after being seated the server will pour everyone a complimentary shot of Soju and play a drinking game. There is no charge for the shot. They may or may not offer to give another to the winner or similar, that depends on your server and how much is left in the bottle of soju! if you decide to drink more soju you pay for it same as all other alcoholic beverages. It’s only the shots as part of the game that are free.
  22. You can get seats on the balcony from deck 7. But if you are standing the door isn’t closed you can leave anytime.
  23. if you’d stayed for the whole show there is a large audience participation section in UntitledDancePartyShowThing and a really sweet slow dance from the performers that makes me cry. Plus a fabulous section with a live singer. The dancers who do the show are great and the main point is to watch them.
