Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. There are already 2 multi-page threads about this on the front page of the forum.
  2. I'm the same way. I recently went on a Bermuda cruise, and I live close to Boston, but arguably the main reason I chose the one out of NYC instead was because the Joy had DB and the Pearl didn't. While on the Joy I tried FR for the first time and it was great! It'll definitely be another venue that helps tip the scales for me.
  3. This will be my first time on the Joy. I'm eager to see if I find the hot tub situation better or worse than others (large & shaded vs 2 small & sunny). The H20 hot tubs were usually the only time I got continuous sun on the ship.
  4. I'd be very interested about the events each night... the Theater shows, comedy shows, and glow/70s/80s/90s parties. I'm sailing next week and it's a lot easier to plan ahead knowing that, to avoid an evening excursion conflicting with a show you want to see, for example. I know the schedule can change week to week but I assume it stays fairly consistent outside of extenuating circumstances. TIA for anything you post!
  5. Wow, that's quite the accusatory tone, but that might be because of the way I worded my post. I'm trying to avoid driving to (and paying to park at) the port and getting a ride instead, but that might only be possible if we arrive in the morning (I have a 1230-1 time slot), so I wanted to know what to expect if that's what we do. Nothing Machiavellian about it, certainly not trying to be "that guy". Thanks for the info.
  6. How strict do they enforce the arrival time slot selected during online check-in? I've always sailed out of other ports and arrived around the selected time. I got stuck with a late time slot for the cruise next week, and wondering if I can get away with arriving much earlier?
  7. Thanks! I just read the 400+ Bermuda Joy thread (which I'm doing next month).
  8. Did anyone stay on deck 15? I have a balcony on mid-15 and the potential for noise above never occurred to me until I just read another thread. Should I be concerned about noise from deck chairs scraping about? I've never stayed directly below the pool level. Thanks.
  9. NCL recommends Inspire Diagnostics for the Covid test, but that's not a requirement, right? A free test at CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc would be sufficient? It was fine for flying international.
