I booked our dining in the app prior to cruise, I had thought that the anytime dining on 7 would suit us best but on some days there was no availability so looked for available times in deck 6. I could only find early dining in 6 to book which I had thought would bother us but we ended up liking it much better. It wasn’t too busy and then gave us plenty of time to go to the shows all evening. On the days we had late return excursions we booked deck 7. We had different tables each time in both dining rooms, I didn’t notice the toggle in the app for selecting same table etc. We have been on 7 different cruise ships on Princess and we have enjoyed them all but the new Sun Princess is favourite now. The Piazza isn’t as grand in styling as the others but still places to sit and relax. The outdoor decks on 9 for the Eatery are really nice. We ate our breakfast outside most mornings enjoying the views, there are heaters in the ceilings in some of the spots.

My husband and I ate evening dinner in the deck 8 diner on 18th April, it was a sea day. It was the diner menu. My husband had the burger but I ordered the ‘from the main dining room’ option of a roast meal. We both had the banana split for dessert. We had experienced the long line on deck 7 (our reservation coincided with everyone coming for dinner after Captains welcome) so we went upstairs to 8. We had reservations in either deck 6 or deck 7 each night. We enjoyed deck 6 dining early most, the service was better. We got off the ship on 4th May in Athens. We loved the ship. Food was improved over our previous 2 cruises. The staff served eatery buffet worked well we thought. I enjoyed being able to, most of the time, to get a seat to watch shows in the Piazza. We went to a lot of the shows in the Arena and the entertainment was very good (we didn’t really enjoy Vallora, it was impressive production wise for a ship and good songs but the dragged out storyline was childish, our opinion). I think everything was better on Sun Princess, our 8th cruise with Princess.

Thankyou for this information azbirdmom, I am not expecting that they will still be doing these offers for my April 17 cruise but it is good to understand the details so a decision can be made quickly if they did.

What do you think it means by ‘EZ Air is fully protected’? Do you think this means they refund the airfare or move to the new dates for new cruise at no extra cost?

Were there shuttle buses provided from the port into Palma? If so, do you know how much these cost and was the ticket process efficient? thanks

It doesn’t cover covid if test positive on a multi night cruise. Also, if you are travelling from February 2024 you will need to pay for at least $500 of your cruise or return ticket cost to activate. There is an update on their website I was reading this morning.

My husband and I were booked for that cruise. We live in North Queensland and were undecided on whether to go on the cruise in the few weeks leading up to it. As we were booked in an interior stateroom we felt the risk of being quarantined in the room was too great. Yes, Australia didn’t really have much covid at that time, but everyone who thinks about things knew that there were passengers flying in from overseas for the cruise and there was no way that covid wasn’t going to spread on board. Finally two days before departure we asked ourselves if it wasn’t for losing our money paid for the trip would we be going? No, we wouldn’t and so I phoned and cancelled. We assumed that we forfeited our payments (for airfare and cruise) however a few days later Princess offered the future cruise credit and so we got that. Everyone had the opportunity/responsibility to assess and decide if it was worth their risk of going. Although at the time we did feel hat Princess should have just cancelled the cruise. We used our credit on the Majestic Princess last year (boarding straight after the 600 cases of covid got off in Sydney!). We had a very nice cruise and didn’t get sick. Now we are booked for NZ on Royal Princess in a few weeks and on the new Sun Princess in April.

Hi, In November my husband and I are going on first cruise since 2019. I have entered details, photos etc into the app on my phone for both of us (he gets too frustrated with tech and I do all the arrangements for our trips). We are green lane status and I have boarding pass QR code showing in the app. Will he be able to board using the same QR as me (ie using my phone only), or will I also need to get the app logged in on his phone too? Thanks
