Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We did not. We both had the sea bass. It was excellent!
  2. We were on the Icon last month (March) and we did ESC. We had the UDP, so it was a bit less. My wife and I really liked it. We would do it again. Very cool experience. Food was great. Drinks were great, and yep, we drank them all! LOL 🙂. You also have unlimited Champaign the whole dinner, on top of all the other drinks. Service was outstanding. Our table was right near the stage. Really cool! Below is a pic from our table. Also, I asked our server if they were sold out for the entire week, and the answer was yes.
  3. Bummer to hear that 😞. We were on the Icon this past March and loved it! We did not have a suite, so we never went to Coastal Kitchen, but I poked my head in there. Looked pretty cool to me! Why was your experience a disappointment? Anything in particular? Too crowded, or maybe too many kids? Maybe the Surfside Family Suite was not good? Thanks!
  4. I just asked Professor ChatGTP to write a review... Here's his review: "Prepare to embark on the voyage of a lifetime aboard the magnificent Icon of the Seas! From the moment I stepped foot on this colossal vessel, I knew I was in for an unforgettable adventure through the sparkling Caribbean seas. Let's start with the sheer grandeur of the ship itself. Icon of the Seas is a floating paradise, a marvel of modern engineering that promises endless excitement and luxury at every turn. With towering decks and sleek lines cutting through the azure waters, this ship is a sight to behold. But it's not just about the size; it's what's inside that truly sets Icon of the Seas apart. And oh, let me tell you about the dining experiences! From the elegant main dining room to the vibrant specialty restaurants, every meal was a culinary masterpiece. Fresh seafood, succulent steaks, exotic flavors from around the world - the options were endless, and each bite was a revelation. But wait, there's more! Icon of the Seas is a playground for the adventurous soul. Whether you're seeking thrills or relaxation, there's something for everyone on board. Take a plunge down the twisting waterslides, or soak up the sun on the expansive pool deck. Test your skills on the rock climbing wall, or unwind with a rejuvenating massage at the spa. The possibilities are as vast as the open sea. And let's not forget about the bars! Icon of the Seas boasts a plethora of watering holes, each serving up expertly crafted cocktails and drinks that are as refreshing as they are delicious. Whether you're sipping a tropical concoction by the pool or enjoying a nightcap in the sophisticated lounge, you'll find no shortage of libations to tantalize your taste buds. In conclusion, my journey aboard Icon of the Seas was nothing short of spectacular. From the exquisite dining experiences to the endless array of activities, every moment was filled with excitement and wonder. If you're looking for the ultimate Caribbean cruise experience, look no further than Icon of the Seas. It's a voyage you'll never forget! Cheers to smooth sailing and unforgettable memories!"
  5. We were on the March 9th, 2024 Icon cruise and had the UDP. We could not book our reservations ahead of time 😬. Had to wait until we got onboard...
  6. Awesome! I was on that sailing, too! Great pics! Great memories!
  7. We also had the 11:30 AM boarding time for our March 9th Icon cruise. We arrived at the pier at 10:20 AM and we were onboard with drink in-hand by 10:31 AM. We were completely impressed by the streamlined embarkation process. They don't mess around! By the time we got onboard, there were probably already several hundred passengers onboard. I've got to hand it to Royal for their streamlined and frictionless boarding process. Very impressive! I also believe their goal is to get you onboard spending money on drinks, food, etc. ASAP, and I love that! I think their North Star is "Instant Embarkation Process for Our Passengers."
  8. Does anyone have any suggestions for booking UDP reservations ASAP when we get on the Icon next Saturday (March 9th)? For example, should we book via the app right away, or the kiosks, or go directly to one of the specialty dining venues? If via the kiosks, does anyone know where they're located on the Icon promenade? Must admit, kinda stinks that we have to start off our vacation this way 😬. But I get it. That's the way it is with the UDP. Thanks!
  9. Does anyone know if they're cracking down on booking now and paying, and then getting a refund once you're onboard?
  10. That would be a bummer if we had to cancel... We bought the UDP nearly 1 year ago when prices were reasonable. Our boarding time is 11:30 AM (the earliest available time slot), so I'm hoping we can book everything right away... Not my idea of starting off a vacation stress free, that's for sure...
  11. I will be on the Icon next Saturday, March 9th. We have purchased UDP, however, I'm getting a bit nervous since a lot of the good time slots are no longer available. For example, for most nights, Habachi is showing limited availability (i.e., 5:00 PM or 9:30 PM... too early or too late). Do they typically hold back time slots for UDP guests? I also thought about just buying the time slots right now, and hopefully have them refunded, however, I heard they are cracking down on this approach... What do you guys think? Should I be concerned about not getting normal time slots (for me, that means anywhere between 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM)? Thanks!
  12. March 9th entertainment schedule was just posted. I just reserved all our entertainment 🙂
  13. I heard on CNBC the other day that Money Market accounts are at an all-time high (over $6 trillion in cash). That's a lot of cash!
  14. With the recent price increases for the menu items at Playmakers, shouldn't Royal increase the food credit a bit, too? Perhaps from $20 to $25? Seems logical to me....
  15. I checked in for our March 9th, 2024 Icon cruise the moment check-in became available a couple of weeks ago (at roughly 11:00 PM CT). The earliest time slot I could get was 11:30 AM. From my understanding, 11:30 AM is the earliest check-in available for non-suite guests.
