  1. Hi - looks like you booked an Oceanview not an interior. There are a few interiors w/windows, but the windows are small, not full height like you will have Although it's classified as partially obstructed, you will have a clear view straight out your windows, unlike the cabin next to you that will have a lifeboat view. I always get a balcony but was very pleased with the Oceanview I had - the natural light and water view make a difference. Have you looked on halfacts.com to see if there are pictures of your cabin?
  2. RIP golf cart - sounds like golf cart had a good run at 31 years. I hope you find one that serves you as well as this one did.
  3. Yep - so you also know the value of the upgraded toolkit w/✏
  4. DH is far from a light sleeper, but deck 8 was a 1 & done for him. He asked where they housed the herd of elephants 🐘 that ran amuck bumping into chairs and tablesπŸ«£πŸ™„ We were aft below Seaview Pool & Bar.
  5. @Nickelpenny got it - love it.❀️😎 Growing up in a 70's household w/a parent in the music business, a pencil was considered 1st line of music crisis management.
  6. Thank you for once again sharing such beautiful pictures with us. We enjoyed Corfu when we were there Nov '23 on NS - your pictures are far better! I love how you're dining w/crew - that would really make for a special cruise experience. Safe travels as you begin the final leg of your amazing journey.
  7. New alert came in while I was reading the FR&D updates; luckily it should expire in an hour and I don't leave for Dr until after 12. This weather is crazy - hope everyone stays safe.
  8. I like brisket and hamburgers and everyone definitely deserves basic rights, Good quote from Mr Byrne. Pass on the meal (tofu) and drink, would try the wine, no pictures of Norfolk as I've not gotten out when I've been there (work not cruise). I look forward to pictures. Hope @grapau27 and Pauline feel better soon. RIP Bill Walton. 🀞the eye doctor is able to do the procedure today - last visit she said my allergies were too bad and sent me home w/an Rx. They don't feel any better, so 🀷 Currently 79Β° which is the high for today (feels like 88Β°); temp should drop slightly as the rains move in. Supposed to rain all week. I can feel the 98% humidity- ugh. Just received a warning to take shelter due to poss 80mph winds and the severe weather watch is now a warning. The storm appears to be just north of us. Prayers πŸ™ and positive thoughts for all.
  9. The storm is either taking a break or has moved on. It filled the backyard, of course, but I'm fairly certain we had no damage. Crazy weather right now. Stay safe. and YAY Stars! Final score 5-3; it was a tough game.
  10. Humbled by your story and beyond appreciative of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice so I may enjoy freedom. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  11. A storm popped up a few minutes ago bringing windπŸ’¨, sideways rain πŸ’¦and pea size hail, as well as a very brief power outage. The dogs freaked out and I can't find the cat, but I'm sure he found refuge somewhere in the house. Silver lining is temps dropped, which is nice. When the power came back on, I was able to see the StarsπŸ’ are already behind 0-2. πŸ₯΄ PrayersπŸ™ everyone stays safe wherever you may be.
  12. Thanks @1ANGELCAT for yesterday's mention of last night's PBS Memorial Day concert. I watched it today and it was very moving.
  13. @JazzyV Dry Needling is intramuscular therapy. As @Seasick Sailor said, it's similar to acupuncture in that needles are used, but go deeper into the muscles. Needles are inserted into trigger points and can be done w/or w/o stimulation (think tens unit). When I have the deep needling, I frequently get a twitch response when the needles are inserted and mostly have the stimulation as well. This is a pretty good graphic ttps://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/16542-dry-needling I have not seen any benefit from acupuncture, but have responded well to dry needling. It has done wonders with headaches from neck issues and apparently is a game changer on my frozen shoulder.
  14. Humbling remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom.πŸ™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ Interesting collection of days - I like popsicles, but the grape one is up for grabs. Pass on the meal (salmon, chickpeas), would try the drink (I do have a bottle of Amarula, so easy to do it) and wine if someone else is buying, not been to the port but it's on my bucket list and I'm enjoying the pictures. Big day in history. No going out today if I don't have to; PT is closed so I'll do it from home. Last week's Ortho visit (frozen shoulder & poss pre-op plan) was a bust again but I was cleared to resume dry needling; had 1st session on Wed and got immediate results that are holding. OMG I didn't know whether to cry, hug the therapist or buy a lottery ticket. She did 5 places on my shoulder and I was able to put my hand behind my back, something that has been impossible for 9 months. 🀞3x/wk treatments plus the amped up PT will get me back to full range soon. Hearing about Grayson Murray's passing is tough - my heart goes out to his circle. Having lost a brother to suicide, I understand their pain and likely mixed emotions. Prayers πŸ™ to them for strength and healing. Couple hours ago it was 77Β° headed to 97Β°; humidity has "dropped" to 94%, lol. Maybe the rains arriving later will clear the air alert - today's an Orange Day and breathing is difficult. Prayers πŸ™ and positive thoughts for all.
  15. Thanks for starting this thread @Copper10-8 - I am grateful for all who made the ultimate sacrifice so I can enjoy my freedom.πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
  16. All my 2023 (NA, K'dam, NS, Eurodam) and to-date 2024 (K'dam) cruises have had daily mass; also had Midnight Mass at Christmas.
  17. We've gotten lattes, juice, mimosas, bloody Mary's during MDR breakfast on disembarkation morning and CC has not been charged, so HIA must work that day.
  18. Welcome to HAL! I always "do the math" to determine if HIA will be worth it. Calculate the drinks and coffee we'll buy, add in allotted # of specialty dinners, full value of excursion credit and cost of internet for myself (DH doesn’t use it). If that total is close to the HIA price, we get it; if not, we don't. I always check availability of excursions, too, because if there's nothing left we want to do, the excursion credits would be wasted making that value $0 to us Once Onboard, I pay to upgrade the internet so I can work (Teams/Skype calls, work email w/attachments & downloads, etc). I can't comment on social sites as I don't use them. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  19. I gotta do it - YAY Mavs πŸ€! Their victory tonight puts them up in the series 3-0. Congrats! A couple great pictures - previous & current powerhouses; amazingly talented athletes.
  20. Thank you. Good that she is able to maintain contact w/her siblings. Just gotta say it again - I loved the pictures of her in the garden. The cartwheel pictures are fabulous. She is blessed to have you both.
  21. Welcome to HAL and congrats on getting CO! There will be some spa specials, mostly on port days; they'll typically be about the same price as the pre-board specials you're seeing. There will be offers to bundle at 10-20-30%. No the ThermalSpa is not given or discounted w/a treatment. But if you buy a day pass and decide to upgrade to the full cruise, you will get credit for it. W/the ThermalSpa purchase, you will also be offered a 3-tier bundling discount on spa treatments. All of that is once onboard.
