  1. Very interesting.....🤔 I will check out the web version and see what's what!! On the MedallianApp, Sun Princess is missing on the vessel name associated with the new booking...and we get various error messages or try again later, too. We haven't finished paying it off yet but will by August. Poverty sucks but we're grateful for being able to make monthly payments interest free. 🤣
  2. Sounds like you hit the jackpot!!! And way to go TA that they could switch locations. Good to know that as long as there is the same category available on another deck they can nail it for you. Pretty amazing that the award was given that far out!!
  3. That's good to know. I have a cancelled booking that won't disappear...but that cancelled booking became the same itinerary (just a different date) aboard the Sun Princess. I keep waiting for the cancelled one to drop...but it has been several, several months now and it's still there.
  4. Do you recall the bid strength on the meter? What did you get?
  5. Correct....I thought they could be announced even at the very last minute...like a day or so before the cruise. Keeps the excitement tense!!!
  6. I'll be excited to hear what ultimately happens!!! This is a great forum for learning about this new bidding system and people's experiences--pros and cons. It's fun talking about anything related to cruise travel!!! Grateful for CruiseCritic and everyone who helps make this a fine community.
  7. Good to know. That's per person, correct? At the end of the day, I would definitely book the stateroom I could live with and NOT take my chances booking a room I wouldn't be happy in for the cruise but assume I would get a winning bid and not be stuck with it. No guarantees.
  8. The system should "catch up" with itself if your booking number stayed the same. Or did it change? If it changed, you may need to "find" it on the app with your new booking number.

  10. Also, what are the steps or how does one go about checking on whether or not my profile has "do not upgrade". In the past, if I recall, you might receive an email offering to upgrade for $XXX.XX amount. With this new bidding game, has Princess stopped that approach? Or do they still do that in hopes of making more money and then they go to the bids at the end??
  11. Curious question.....was your bid "low" "medium" or "high" (or whatever verbiage they use) on the bid strength?
  12. That's right. It would be very easy for them to either modify their existing stateroom category bid options to include "only accessible" and "not accessible" and "will accept accessible" .... or have it as a filter for placing bids for any of their stateroom categories being offered in the bidding. If only they would listen to our great feedback.....😉
  13. Do you mind sharing....were your bids on the "low" "medium" or "high" scale for bid strength? I know that decision is an individual one....but it is helpful and positive to hear that "low" bids are being accepted. I'm sure it's all about availability after they've accepted all the "medium" and "high" bids to grab as much money as they can.
  14. Greetings one to you and peace! I just received word that the Medallions for our upcoming (April 27-May 10) Panama cruise were shipped. At one time, these were sent to us via Fed-Ex. While it seemed rather extravagant and wasteful (but nobody on the committee asked me), nonetheless, extremely reliable. Now, I see they are sending it via shipping partner 4PX Express USA who is responsible for getting it to USPS for home delivery. God help us all.
  15. You will love the mini-suite. Once we tried it, we never went back. The extra room - especially the larger bathroom - really makes a difference. Did you get the Reserve Collection (formerly called Club Class) mini-suite? Again, congratulations on the winning bid--and certainly at a GREAT deal. It's nice to hear the examples where people are winning at reasonable bids and saving money.
  16. That's very interesting....and I am sure very frustrating. I really do not know much at all about technology....but wondering if the problem has anything to do with the SIM card or a particular device setting on your UK phone?? You mentioned in another post about some noticeable differences from Princess between UK and North America....I would be interested in understanding what some of those are....and I wonder about the "why" of it all?

  18. That's right....I wouldn't want to place a bid IF ADA staterooms/bathrooms are part of the pool to be upgraded. It wouldn't work for my travel mate and I.

  22. This is good information to know. I was wondering if you would get all the perks and privileges of a suite .... sounds like the answer is "yes". I know any promo goodies you were awarded at the time of booking will transfer--those don't get lost because of the upgrade. I'd like to try bidding on an upgrade...but would not want a stateroom with an ADA bathroom. I wish Princess could tell us whether or not those are a part of the pool for bidding on an upgrade.

With the Princess Plus package you should be entitled to freebie two (2) specialty desserts along with these other goodies: PRINCESS PLUS Princess dining, accommodations and entertainment MedallionClass experience Plus Beverage Package (drinks up to $15 each, includes unlimited juice bar) Wi-Fi (1 device per guest) Crew appreciation Premium desserts (2 per day) Fitness classes (2 per cruise) I emphasize "should" because I don't know when you purchased your cruise and what the promos were at the time....but the program went into effect sometime in February.
