Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. How much time do you want to spend? Basic 7 day cruises are plentiful. If you are wanting a Cruise/Land combination you are looking at Holland and Princess. My Other and I are looking at the Combo for 2025. We feel if we are going that far we want to really see Alaska. Not just the coastline. Which means 9 or more days. We want to ride the train or bus from Anchorage to Faitbanks. To go up to Mt. Denali and Denali National Park. To be able to see Alaskan wildlife on tours. To us, other than being on the cruise ship, the land part is more important to really see what Alaska is all about.
  2. OK.....got it a little wrong. I haven't been there. But I have been from San Fran to Hawaii and back. Had to make a quick stop in Ensenada, Mexico on the way back to meet the requirement. Wasn't even worth getting off the ship.
  3. So basically if you are planning on going to Alaska from a US port.....you must stop in Canada. That means Victoria Island or Vancouver.
  4. Cruise ships must stop in a foreign port. If only US ports.....then they must pay US Taxes and the crew must be US citizens. The only Mass market ship I know that does this is the NCL ship Pride of America in Hawaii. Which has an exemption. The ships also must be built in the US and US flagged. Foreign flagged cruise ships sailing from US ports must stop in a foreign port because of the Passenger Services Vessel Act. This was suspended for Alaskan cruises in 2021 because of the Covid Pandemic when Canada would not allow ships to dock in Canada.
  5. When I asked how they came up with the list of prospective jurors, I was told they came from the voters list. So if you don't want to get called......don't vote.
  6. Same here in Minnesota.....over 70, you can be excused. I was a teacher for35 years and was excused the first couple times I was called. Then, that ended and I had to go. I still received my school pay for those days. But the school got the the Jury Duty pay. I was called 8 times and served on 5 of those......4 as the foreman. Basically because I had experience as a Forman so the rest elected me again. Very interesting experiences. All were for criminal cases except 1 civil.
  7. I also was in this situation a few years ago. Clerk of court excused me.
  8. Also saw Broken Strings. Singing by the Celebrity singers and dancers.
  9. Yes 7 and 9......just came from there for a group called Rebel.......3 guys singing 60's music. Have seen a comic, a magician, Celebrity singers and dancers. Mini opera Elysium.
  10. On Reflection now. Have gone to early shows each night. Lower deck of the theater had plenty of open seats when shows started.
  11. 32 days....Celebrity Reflection.....8 days out of Ft. Lauderdale.
  12. I'm Gold. 1 more cruise for Ruby. Won't let me until next fall
  13. I guess I am not an elite passenger. This would be my third Princess cruise.
  14. That's what I said. Won't make reservations until fully paid.
  15. Tried to do that. It says can't make reservations until cruise is fully paid. I only made a deposit with an interior cabin.
