There's no cure Lola, If Bro-coli goes anywhere near my food I can't touch it. It harks back to an incident involving several hundred pieces of additional protein that were extremely well hidden within the florets and only made their presence known when it went into the boiling water. I Can't even look at it since.

Well it is now showing as being booked again. I Can’t get any explanation as to what has happened or why but at least it’s booked again. I’m a bit wary of booking and paying for my excursions just yet in case it happens again.

Well it opened here straight away and triggered my lachanaphobia instantly. Bro-coli everywhere. Shudder.

Whilst I’m quite happy to be frank about Viking. They require full payment a ridiculous amount of time ahead and refuse any refunds even when they have cancelled the cruise themselves. I Sat through torturess hours listening to my partner fighting them tooth and nail to refund cruises that they had cancelled themselves in the lockdown and with no result. They are a company with no morals and rely heavily upon their t&cs which should be digested in great detail before you part with your hard earned cash. But thinking about it, if you name your company after a race that is renowned for their raping and pillaging prowess why would you expect anything different?

It could turn into a war then Lola, Comestibles vs Combustibles!

Thanks for that DvD, I had seen it. I Went straight to look but January 25 has 2 voyages, neither of which are either possible, desirable or doable for me. I'm about to finalise things on a South African adventure for Jan 25 though.

Trivia on a train isn't quite such a bloodsport as on a ship. I Recently took the Indian Pacific from Perth to Sydney and almost nobody was injured (physically) by the afternoon sessions. With only 4 days onboard, nobody started cocking their leg on a particular table or employed Jedi mind tricks. The difference may lie in there not being any valuable points offered but that's above my pay grade.

Thanks PP. I'm not sure about the last minute thing unless you're very flexible on dates as the solo verandahs do seem to sell out way ahead. It was a lovely ship and far better than I was expecting for my first time on a mainstream line. I Could take or leave the Infinite Verandah thing tbh but as a solo cabin it was great. I Always avoid buffets wherever possible and there were certainly lots of options without it for a nice quiet spot. Also the people onboard were certainly much more friendly than the people posting on the Celebrity boards. I Understand Host JBs comment about it being " [too "Edge-y"]" though. To sum up the "feel" of the ship, it was a bit trendy, slightly luxurious, fairly classy and very relaxed. The demographic was generally younger than SS but there was a great mix of ages and interesting people always to be found to chat too. When I did venture into the buffet I discovered where the Olympic plate lifting champions that negotiate using their elbows had spent their week. They were rarely spotted anywhere else onboard. I Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Thank you mauimary, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Life's too short for arguing with the warriors and I certainly didn't want to waste my precious holiday time on them. And for the record, I Don't like moustaches on men or women! I'm sure you'll have a great time on the Edge.

Will do, I was ready to push the button on several other elements of the holiday but will be holding back for now. The tour operator couldn’t get any information and the slurry Azamara lady could only confirm that the cruise was going ahead but my booking was definitely cancelled but couldn’t tell me when, how or why.

Luckily, my Travel Agent is also my partner so he was straight onto it. Unfortunately, being a Saturday he couldn’t get much sense from anyone. I’ll see if I can speak to somebody sober tomorrow.

Hi Lois, I wasn’t referring to CC rules, I was referring to the person that joined recently, posted incessantly, criticised anything positive I had to say about Celebrity, avoided answering many questions, reported anyone that questioned them for harassment and then disappeared just as quickly as they arrived. I’m still scratching my head about that one.

That was the company we used too and can highly recommend. They were superb.

So 3 weeks ago I booked a 3 week tour of South Africa which included a 12 night Azamara cruise (January 25). I’ve had murder ever since. It took me 3 weeks to finally get my confirmation number so that I was able to start making my excursion bookings. That confirmation number finally arrived yesterday (cabin number also assigned) I Was able to log in last night and start viewing the available excursions. I Went to log in today to actually get them booked but my cruise had been cancelled and I wasn’t able to book anything. I Rang Azamara and spoke to a very excitable lady that had either suffered a stroke or was in the midst of a fantastic session of day drinking whilst working from home. Her speech was so slurred I really struggled to follow along. She wasn’t able to tell me when or why my booking was cancelled but was able to confirm that it was cancelled. Her managers didn’t know anything either. I Spoke to my UK tour operator too who could see no reason for the cancellation. The tour is going ahead and bookable, the cruise is going ahead and bookable. What on earth is going on? Is their booking system really so glitchy? Am I booked or not? This is a big holiday for me with many bucket list moments but I’m really starting to worry about their competence and wether or not they will deliver. I’ve wanted to sail Azamara for a long time but I’m worried now that I’ve made the wrong choice.

I’m just back from an incredible 4 week tour of Aus and NZ with a twelve night cruise on the Celebrity Edge that I’m not allowed to mention on here, oops. You’ll have the most amazing time. If you get the chance then look into the Indian Pacific rail journey. What an experience!
