  1. And judging by the hugely increased daily amount of fighter jets that have been training overhead here in N Wales recently, it may be some time before things quieten down. They might, of course be taking a more Easterly route eventually but who knows?
  2. Thick cut tiger bread, slathered with salted butter. Home cured bacon grilled till crispy (none of that American rubbish injected with slime) and then grilled until it’s nearly edible. In fairness, UK supermarkets use the same technique. I Don’t get the whole American/Canadian/British bacon thing. It’s almost as offensive as chicken sausages in Dubai. Bacon is cured not injected with Brine. Our local butchers do a superb job.
  3. I Must admitQSS, I never get too involved with macros etc, more the principal. I’m sorry to hear your son overdid it. I go a bit free and easy (as ever) and when I’m a good boy it’s 20g carbs, when I’m a forgetful boy it’s 50g carbs and now and again it’s 2 bacon butties and a pasties de nata sort me out.
  4. Oh JP, I’m back on the Keto. Please don’t mention po ta toes. I Did secure a hefty double pork chop today, I also succumbed to the home cured bacon and the special fat sausages at my local butchers but that dirty filthy 6 Rib Welsh black roast that they had on the counter that kept winking at me. I Resisted. I’m so proud of myself.
  5. My favourite plates are my Versace ones and my Spode Sheffield set . If ever I’m cooking anything special then the big boys come out. Hand dived Conwy Scallops finished with pear, Pancetta, wilted spinach and finished with a Madeira glaze deserve appropriate surroundings!
  6. My favourite film ever!!! Best bits.... take the dog, take the dog and Gammy in the Air Ambulance. Love it.
  7. Have an amazing time! That sounds like a really really unluxurious move.
  8. Thank you DvD, we have many happy memories of him.
  9. A Huge Cwtch from me to you Lola. It never gets better but does get easier.
  10. Certainly not ruptured HJB. Many cats may believe they are her equal but few would ever even be considered for the position. She really is quite a peice of work. I’ll never forget the poor Romanian street dog that tried to eat her. His owner made the mistake of dragging her off his back. She hadn’t considered the consequences of dragging off a cat that has her claws deeply embedded around your dogs throat. Top Tip, copious amounts of soda water are the best way of removing large amounts of blood from a freshly laid hand carved Turkish carpet.
  11. This is what a cat looks like when she has absolute disdain for any human that dares approach her. She usually agrees to allow her admirers to approach her, some for almost a minute. She has her own fan club of elderly ladies and often comes home sporting a whiff of Lavender. She will not be picked up by anyone but me. She allows dogs to admire her too as long as they express due deference. If they make the mistake of barking or snarling at her then they are greeted with a ball of claws running straight at their nose. She has no doubt whatsoever of her abilities to conquer any opponent. Her proudest conquest was a stoat, She wasn’t even ruffled. She was born on my 40th birthday in a crisp box behind the sofa shortly after I fished her maybe 5 month old mother out of a bin. My DH wanted to call her Princess but we soon realised that Rosemary West suited her far better as a name. She’ll be 15 next month and I must say, looks rather fabulous for her age. She’s the classiest and most charismatic Hotel Cat ever.
  12. So sorry to hear this silkismom, she was a real beauty and such a tribute to you to have bought her so much extra time.
  13. Thank you all again for your kind words and thoughts. Today is a better day.
  14. Thanks Host JB. A Day I’d never want to repeat.
  15. Thank you Lola. It was the vet that bought him 2 years that came to our home to help him across. He overheard the call this morning and insisted he came out. I’m utterly heartbroken but am reminded at the same of how tragic life can be. A Dear friend of mines mother drowned herself yesterday in the river here. Her daughter hung herself in the woods 20 years ago and she never got over it. Apologies everybody for my mood but as Friday the 13th’s go this one outranks my partners two car crashes, both on Friday the 13th. One was just a new panel and a re-spray but the other lost me my favourite car ever. It wasn’t a great day yesterday.
  16. Thank you all so much for the kind words and wishes. It means so much. He was a true Gentleman his entire life. Here are a few happy memories he blessed us with.
  17. Thank you Emtb. We have nothing but wonderful memories to cherish. We are very blessed.
  18. I’m very sorry to say that we lost our beautiful companion of 15 years today. He’s with his big badass sister now who’ll be bossing him about over there. He “fell asleep” playing tug with me and his favourite toy, Heffalump.
  19. Pina Coladas keep quite well in them when going out on excursions.
  20. The only time I’ve been in Port Everglades was when I was on the Crystal Symphony when it was arrested and we were quite violently Catamaranned into the port the next day. No idea which terminal but it was a little grim. It was however my only appearance so far on an American news Chanel (that I’m aware of). Sorry I can’t help.
  21. I Believe, similar to Fred, they have ample”refrigerated stowage” down below TTS.
  22. That’s an awful lot of baby cow JP! Congratulations on finishing it.
