The price difference is probably because you chose wrong room. If other room is still available, Carnival might be able to move you to it, especially if it's an upgrade.

Keep in mind that crowds are a big part, especially on emarkation/debark. Personally, I'd avoid during school holidays because of the number of screaming kids. More port days over more sea days would be good for your kid's age bracket imo. I don't think that the experience of Norwegian over Carnival is worth that big of price difference.

Found this on an apple board. "You would need to be using some other online based messaging service such as Skype, Whatsapp, or FB messenger to message Android devices over Wifi." so if you know who you will want to text, you should be able to each install an app in advance and text each other.

Thx, will try that. I love mobile hotspot, but thought that was dedicated to cell carrier network.

Great post. I always take more credit cards than I use, and keep extras in safe, but not with a plan in mind. Your post reminded me I need to plan accordingly. I usually keep one credit card with passport and DL and another CC separate. Also break up my cash into different locations as well.

You specifically used mobile Hotspot to do it? We're you using wifi to get internet at the time?

I think based on the testing I did, I had to tether to the phone rather than mobile Hotspot because Hotspot uses Verizon's network. That will likely be what I'll do, because I HATE the process of switching the connection back and forth between my devices.

Saw announcement about newInternet plan. Not really worth it IMO unless you have 4 people in party, and even then, not much savings.

That odd, there was a circus about a month ago where a Karen shared booking number on a chat group, and someone else went and cancelled their cruise. Karen was all over social media blaming Carnival. Maybe the removed the ability until they can put more safeguards online.

Hadn't thought about the high credit limit thing, but yea, even if you have insurance, may need credit card to get treated at hospital if anything happens.

It would seem that they aren't making use of a major asset if they are having to cancel events in the space with a retractable roof. My guess is that it is prone to malfunctioning, so they are stingy about use. Just a guess. -
Thanks for this thread! Those balcony chairs are uncomfortable, and my view in them hits right at rail level, so can't even see around it while sitting.

Another thread indicated that they send an email with deals in the 2 weeks after a cruise.

Same thing with insurance for drunk passengers, air scrubbers for smoking areas, meat-free protein substitutes for vegans. Most services we use for consumers have built-in charges for parts of the service that we will personally never use.
