  2. Thanks for the post, just checked and had it on my Schwab Platinum
  3. @Sthrngary Looking froward to your updates. We (wife and I) have cruised in the Haven on NCL and in a Penthouse suite on Oceania, so it will be interesting to hear about your experiences and thoughts.
  4. Post 246 relates to a Cruise Planners exclusive deal. Is that who you booked through?
  5. Any of the Jewel class ships - Gem, Jade, Jewel, Pearl. Does not feel crowded, several restaurants, observation lounge (Spinnaker) at the front, several restaurants, Great Outdoors at the back.
  6. I have also been to those locations in the recent past - no requirements to get a yellow fever vaccanation
  7. As mentioned by @davencl LATRIPLE gives you 3 exrtra points per night. META is usually an upgrade of your cabin within same class. Something like an inside to better inside or balcony to better balcony. METAUP is usually an uprade to next class. Something like inside to oceanview or oceanview to balcony.
  8. If you book onboard make sure you let the staff member know your Latitudes status. It seems that the discount is not always automatically applied onboard.
  9. Just got off the Sky, did not need to use a card to keep lights on in our room
  10. Post #213 in this topic was the last time I posted the Master list. Other than the power outage we had a great time on the 20 day Sun cruise. Staff was top notch! Spirit hitting both Alaska and Hawaii is a great itinerary. We sure enjoyed it.
  11. Best guess is a discount/reward from one of the Playstudios games like My Vegas Slots. Their rewards are often coded with VIP.
  12. As it is related to an NCL Mastercard discount, did you receive a discount when you used your card?
  13. @Albinroo Have cruised the Emerald and Jade's sister ships (Jewell class). In our experience food and service were better on NCL. Was disapointed on both of our Princess cruises. Emerald felt crowded and we often could not find a seat for various events unless we arrived early. NCL tends to be a little more casual. NCL usually has more families than Princess, so might be better for the kids. Neither ship has things like water slides. Both itinereries look good for beach days and/or wandering the port areas. 14 day Jade cruise will not be a party vibe. If it were me, I would choose the Jade, but you would have a great time on either ship. Whichever you choose, I do not believe that you will be disapointed.
  14. AFREESC is free prepaid service charges, guessing they added the 2 to indicate for two guests
  15. @Sthrngary First of all, have often read your posts and really appreciate your postitive but balanced response and posts. Like you we have mostly been on NCL cruises. Haven for large ships, suites for the others. We did our first Oceania cruise in March on the Riviera. We did enjoy it and will do it again, in fact we are booked on the Vista for a March 2024 cruise. You will have a great time. I would say it is much more sedate experience. I felt the treatment from the crew was about the same as what we experienced with NCL. We mostly had great service, with a miss here and there. I was disappointed in the food, but that is mostly because Oceania claims to be the finest at sea, which had raised my expectations. The quality of the food is good (not great), but for me, the taste is on the bland side, as I tend to like lots of spice and flavors. As a result I actually prefer NCL when it comes to food. I am willing to sacrafice a bit of quality for my preferred taste. I get that they have to satisfy the tastes of the majority of their clientele. We still like NCL and they will continue to be our regular cruise line, but will cruise on Oceania for the better itineraris when the price is right. Things have changed post Covid for all cruise lines, but it has not reduced our cruising enjoyment. I have experienced recent itinerary changes on both NCL and Oceania, more so on Oceania, but I always try and look on the bright side of things and enjoy whatever port stop that is substituted or the enexpected sea day. Yes, you will have a great time on Oceania and I hope your friends find the same passion as you have when it comes to cruising.
  16. Sort of. Originally the up to $50 excusion credit, included with ALL4CHO, would cover 1 shore excursion per day for the first person on the reservation. NCL started honoring it as up to $50 per shore excursion for the first person on the reservation, even if they took more than 1 in a day. At that time they stared adding the code SHX50 to most bookings.
  17. @Mandalay5 "Is there an option for MDR meal delivery or just room service menu/specialty restaurant meals for dinner?" Your Butler will happily deliver any Main dining room meal that you desire.
  18. The Dawn, Star, Gem, Jade, Pearl, and Jewell have them in the Garden Villa. The Gem, Pearl, and Jewell Have them in the Deluxe Owners Suites. The Sky and the Sun in the Owners Suites. Pride of America in the Deluxe Owners Suite and Owners Suites (except deck 13, although the balconies on deck 13 are huge). Prima in the Havan Premier Owners Suite, Deluxe Owners Suite, Aft Owners Suite (except deck 10), Haven Owners Suite with Large Balcony (except 12322 and 12926). Viva should be similar to Prima I do not believe any of the Breakaway, or Breakaway plus, or Epic suites have hot tubs on the balconies. The Spirit does not have any balconies with Hot tubs.
  19. We have cruised on POA 4 times, in 2009, 2017, 2019, and December 2022. All 4 times we had a great time and the service and food was equal to our experiences on other NCL cruises. Only downside from our perspective is the cost relative to other NCL cruises. Would happily do this cuise again and again.
  20. I concur with Bird Travels comments. We usually book forward facing balcony suites, and spend many hours on those balconies. Sometimes it can be too windy while at sea to enjoy, but in most conditions it is not a an issue while sitting.
  21. In March we were on the Oceania Riviera (Oceania is owned by NCLH) and we docked in Amber Cove. We were originally scheduled to go to Taino Bay, we were notified a day or two before, while on the ship, of the change. Amber Cove was very nice and did not impact our excursion to Ocean World.
  22. That code would correspond to a $25 On Board Credit (non-refundable). It would typically be given by NCL for an unsatisfactory experience, i.e., a poor Shore Excursion or similar. If it is showing under your account login they should be able to apply it to your cruise. I would call back and ask to have the issue escalated if needed. You could offer to send them a screenshot if they can't see it.
