  1. I can’t compare different lines, because we have mostly done Princess, but just wanted to suggest checking out the Princess itineraries. They have one that seems to match your wishes. We loved our Princess Mediterranean cruise and we saw the ports you are hoping to see! (Heading back in a few weeks, as a matter of fact!)
  2. I bought some Prime Defense at CVS. I can’t find anything that confirms that it works against Norovirus. Does anyone have a source that confirms this? Thanks!!
  3. Agree with checking out Marshall’s and TJMaxx. I’ve found several great travel pieces there. One that I use a lot is a black quilted bag. It’s like the one pictured but a different brand and I got it at TJMaxx. You can carry it over your should or crossbody.
  4. Thanks so much all! I googled and lo and behold, I got FB ads! LOL! None of my current socks have the silicone strip and I think that was my problem!
  5. Does anyone know of a brand of no-show socks that don’t slide down under your foot? Drives me crazy!! Thanks!
  6. Can you tell me where to buy this? Is Amazon the only place to find it? Thank you for any guidance!
  7. Oh wow, thank you, John Bull. That’s great info and super helpful. We will plan on this way to see Gibraltar since it’s still less money and time than the other options I’ve seen. Thank you so much for this helpful update!!
  8. Agree! We don’t even want the longer of these two tours. An hour and a half sounds good to me! Other ports will take more of our time, money, and energy — so a light day sounds great!
  9. I will report back and tell you about our experience. I think we have decided to just hire a taxi when we exit the ship. This website described that option and it sounds good to me. Here is a screenshot.
  10. Can I jump in and ask a question here? We will be in port in Marseille in late May (the current trouble will likely be resolved, but Plan B is always good.) We planned to take a train to Cassis. Are there other options for transportation to get there? Thank you!
  11. Same! We saved quite a bit. I so appreciate all that I learn on these boards!
  12. Such helpful answers, so thank you all! I was considering jeans since they are heavier and I thought I might keep them out of my suitcase. But I think my black slim-legged pants will be much more comfortable. Good point about wearing my walking shoes, rather than have them take up space in the suitcase. We are doing carry-on only. And I’m thinking compressions socks or sleeves is a great idea as well.
  13. What do you all like to wear for your travel day? I’m particularly thinking about what to wear for a late May, overnight flight to Barcelona. Thanks for any input!
  14. Congrats!! What a great trip! There are some deluxe balconies that have enlarged balconies —- like on Deck 8 near the front of the ship and some “obstructed view” balconies with larger decks as well, if that matters to you. Here’s a website where you can see what the view is from various balconies. I’m getting so excited for our trip as well : )
  15. To me the biggest reason someone might choose the 2nd option is Jerusalem. Some people choose an itinerary just to get to that city, so that may weigh in your decision. We are cruising the Enchanted in the Med in May. It will be our first time on the Enchanted, but have cruised Princess in the Med before and it was wonderful.
  16. Thank you for this review! We sail the Enchanted in May and love reading a positive review!! Glad you had a great trip!
  17. I had never heard of this so had to Google the recipe and it (of course) took me to a CC post! This does sound so good and I will be ordering one for myself in May! Thanks for sharing! Baccarat: 4 Parts Abolut Rasperri 3 Parts Frangelico 3 Parts Blackberry Brandy 2 Part Cream Chilled Over Ice - Garnish with Raspberry
  18. Just read this in their website: For cruises departing February 20, 2023 and beyond. What is Included The package includes all beer, spirits, wine by the glass and cocktails $15.00 USD and under as listed on our menu(s), or $22.00 AUD and under for voyages departing from and returning to Australia and New Zealand. The package includes sparkling or still bottled water (500ml or less), fountain sodas, fresh juices and healthy smoothies (juice bar), specialty coffees and teas, Frappés at Coffee & Cones, and Red Bull energy drinks
  19. Bottled water is not included in the Plus package? I thought it was!
  20. I the same thing when I load the discussion boards -- top right of the screen of my phone.
  21. Do it!! You can do as much or little as you like in terms of sightseeing and enjoy a lovely cruise as well.
  22. Yes, we did a 12-day Med cruise with Princess but it was over 10 years ago. It really does take a lot of planning! It’s a different kind of cruise than a Caribbean one. You are much more busy sightseeing. But it is so wonderful to see so many places and have a beautiful ship taking you there! We are very anxious for our cruise this May!
  23. We are booked on the Enchanted for the Barcelona to Rome trip. We have a mini suite on Caribe, midship, and one of the ones with an extended, angled balcony. Of course we haven’t seen it yet, but people say it makes the balcony large enough to enjoy. I like that it’s midship and a lower balcony. Check out the deck plans and you’ll see the ones with the extended balconies.
  24. I would lean toward the first itinerary because I think the “Dr. Seus-like” architecture of Gaudi would make an impression on your daughter and be fun to see. My kids saw it when they were around that age and enjoyed it. They took a million pics of buildings! I would think a tour of La Familia Sagrada would be memorable. I have never been to Cannes, but we have been to Marseille and I don't know that I’d make that a priority. Not to say anything negative about any of these ports because I think there is no wrong answer —- it’s all spectacular!
  25. I completely relate to your experiences. I am the same and my daughter is the same. My son doesn’t have problems and can rides roller coasters all day long. I foolishly once in my 40’s thought I had likely outgrown it and rode Space Mountain in Disney World. I was sick the rest of the day. Vomiting and had to lay down on a park bench — so embarrassing!! I have had motion sickness from my earliest memories, like you. I love cruising though so I am thankful there are things we can do to make it possible. My daughter, on the other hand, says she will never cruise again, as the meds just don’t do the trick enough for her. A poster here (MrGabriel) has recently recommended acupuncture which worked for him. I may give it a whirl!
