  1. Good morning. Our dinner at the Grill was superb. Started off with a crudite of celery, radish and carrots. Followed by an ice cold salad with bleu cheese dressing. Then a cup of consommé beef broth. The USDA Prime beef was cooked to perfection (Pittsburgh Style) by my request. Followed by a seven layer coconut cake that was so lite and fluffy. A delicious meal topped off with an Irish Coffee. Without a doubt the best steak I have ever had at sea and possibly land for that matter. We then went to the Grand Salon and watched the singers, dancers put on an outstanding show entitled The King, Queen and Prince. Songs of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Prince. This high energy show was over the top good. We are tendering today in Shelburne, Nova Scotia and with a 90% chance of rain we are debating whether to just stay onboard. Time to go get some of the wonderful freshly roasted coffee. Thanks to all and enjoy your week. Bruce
  2. Yes and he got up and did a duet with her. She returns tomorrow night. Fantastic performer. Journey Live is her new album.
  3. @StLouisCruisers just a correction on my previous post. Those shells contained cold water oysters not lobster!🤔 Sandi our chocolates last night were cherry flavored. Different every day. We are collecting them to take home as we are given confectionary treats every night in the Restaurant ( they put a lot of thought into naming the MDR).
  4. Halifax was really quiet today. We walked along the waterfront to the Waterfront Warehouse where we enjoyed lunch as we have done on many occasions. Was tempted to have a whole lobster dinner but seeing we are dining tonight in the Grill we chose a lobster roll and some cold water lobsters. After dinner we will be going to the Grand Salon for the singers and dancers. We really have enjoyed the entertainment. Super talented cast. Will have to do some math but with all beverages included, no cost specialty dining, room bar set up it may come close to a BHB cruise. The crew is trained to work various venues. So are dining room waiter was working as a bar waiter prior to dinner. Entertainers work as team and all can be called upon to host various events. It’s a well oiled machine designed to pamper and treat one as royalty. Tomorrow a new port for us. Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Life is very good. Bruce
  5. Good morning! We had a wonderful day at sea yesterday. Enjoyed the lectures from two professors. A nice touch is when you enter the Grand Salon they have an array of chilled wine, champagne, sodas, beer, water available. Just help yourself. Our Miami based travel agency is a Virtuoso rated company and we were invited to a a cocktail get together with fellow guest whose TA’s must also use Virtuoso rated companies. It was all new to us. After a lovely dinner we went to the Grand Salon for a performance by Cloe from South Africa. My goodness what a powerful and melodic singer she was. I closed my eyes and thought Whitney Houston or Bette Midler was performing. It’s 42 degrees in Halifax and later we will stroll down to the Wharehouse Restaurant for lunch. It will be a light lunch as tonight we are eating at The Grill which is Chef Thomas Keller’s restaurant onboard. No extra charge but reservations are required. Other then lunch we have nothing planned as we have been here often and have seen all the highlight’s. Time to find some coffee. Thanks for The Fleet Report and postings. Bruce
  6. This morning’s lecture! The Titanic!😳 Today’s Trivia will be guest vs officers. Advantage? Among the crew they represent 95 countries!
  7. Good morning. Another sea day as we sail to Halifax. Last night at 6:00 PM the ship had a Block Party. We all stepped out into the hallway and got to meet our neighbors. Waiters were handing out Kir Royal cocktails and assortment of canapés and caviar. The Captain, HD, Staff Captain, Chief Engineer and CD made rounds and toasted everyone. Fun time. We ate in the MDR last night and I enjoyed a great New York Strip that was the best steak I have ever had in a MDR. Upon return to cabin we had different flavored chocolates. So that’s three different types so far. We enjoyed a guest male vocalist last night who was very good and tonight we have a female vocalist. For a small ship she rode last night’s six to eight foot waves very well. Time for coffee. Thanks for the reports and postings and now it’s back to being spoiled. Have a great day. Bruce
  8. Today is a rather dreary sea day with a little motion. We just returned from a great lecture. A PHD Marine Biologist who presented one of the most interesting lectures on sea life. Yesterday he gave a great lecture on water and tomorrow’s lecture will be on sea turtles. Dinner starts at 7:00 PM so that could be an issue for those that like to eat early. The service has been fantastic and the food has been very good. One could get very use to cruising at this level. The complimentary wine, spirits have been very good. At last nights’s welcoming for new Seabourn cruisers was very nice. The trio band (great group) performed and instead of officers introducing themselves they had regular workers from various department going around and introducing themselves. Bartender, dancer, a couple of spa ladies, Future Cruise Consultant, Housekeeper. A very nice get together. Tonight will go to Observation Lounge for pre dinner libations and to listen to the pianist with a great voice and song selections. After dinner the singers and dancers will take the stage again in the Grand Salon. They are so talented. In comparison to our regular BHB venues every venue here is miniature compared to Crow’s Nest, Lido, MDR, Casino etc. Like the old saying. We are having a grand time and wish you were here. Enjoy your weekend. Bruce
  9. Good morning! Let’s start off the day by wishing @grapau27 Graham Happy Birthday! We moved our clocks forward one hour and it’s still dark out as we start a sea day on our way to Halifax. They had a nice reception last night for all first time cruisers on Seabourn and then we went to dining room where we did enjoy our lobster dinner. Dinner was followed by going to Grand Salon and watching a magician. He did some amazing card tricks but I have to admit I was struggling to stay awake. So it’s coffee time which means I need to get up and moving. I’m getting low on Me Me’s so will take a break for awhile and enjoy what others will post. Have a great TGIF and weekend. Thanks for the reports. Bruce
  10. Someone asked about soaps and beauty products on Seabourne. The room is stocked with Molton Brown products and bar soap. Shampoo & Conditioner already in shower. Use all you want in the larger containers but you will be charged if you take them home.
  11. Good morning! We had a great dinner last night on our first dress up night. It was a set menu and we chose the Arctic Char over beef. Delicious. Back up a night. Our first night in Restaurant (MDR) Sue did not care for the spaghetti carbonara she had ordered and asked for another dish. After we had finished a food and beverage officer came to our table an apologized for the spaghetti. We stated no problem. He stated they would like to make up for it and what could we make you to make up for it. At first we said we’re fine but after they asked again are you sure I said OK we would like live Canadian lobster. He stated what would like with it! We thought nothing more about it until we entered the dining room last. Good evening Mr. & Mrs. would you like the same table as you did last night. We said sure. Then he said because tonight is a special dining event will be serving your lobster dinner tomorrow evening! Wow! After dinner we went to the show which was a brand new show with the singer and dancers of theme songs from popular movies. What a fantastic show and cast is star quality entertainers. We are just pulling in to Saguenay and we have told that it’s the Quest fiftieth visit and the town is going all out to welcome all 349 of us. Time for coffee and to check out are welcoming party. Thank for the reports. Bruce
  12. Yes. I remember them but can’t recollect seeing them in a long time.
  13. This ship was commissioned in 2011 and it looks like it was built this year. It has not been a good weather day. Tourism appears slowing down as the streets were really quiet when we walked around and not sure what the other 350 guest did. We were surprised that there is still some pretty foliage in places. What an international crew. Kenyans, Poland, Ukraine, Filipinos, India and a bartender from Nepal just to name a few. Last night we checked in for dining and a waiter takes Susan’s arm and escorts us to our table. When we left the Maitre D’ says goodnight Mr & Mrs by name. How they do that after meeting us for a few seconds? We have two nights reserved dining in Chef Thomas Keller’s Grill (French Laundry) in NAPA. His contract with Seabourn is not being renewed and the Grill will be a Mediterranean themed restaurant starting on Quest in January.
  14. These are the type of chocolates we received last night. Have not been asked if we have a preference. Awaiting anxiously for our first deliver of caviar to the cabin. They are spoiling us rotten.
  15. We did receive chocolates last night but I didn’t look closely at them. Will have to check when I get back to cabin. We save them and bring them home. Who needs them when there is free gelato.😊
  16. Yesterday our cabin steward asked about our preferences for our cabin. When we came back to our room last night our preferences had been filled. Use up one and it replaced for free.
  17. Good morning! Slept like a baby. Just getting up after staying up late enjoying the great entertainment. If it’s not raining hard our plan is to have lunch at a favorite restaurant. Have been in Quebec City so many times no need for sight seeing. We were told last night there are only 350 guest on board. Ate in main dining room last night. Everyone new our names. Amazing. Time to get up and get moving. Have a great day. Bruce
  18. Yes deck five. Very nice accommodations. Good enough that I slept in to 8:30.
  19. There are no fixed times it’s open seating from 7-9 PM. Later then Hal so some may have an issue with later dining. Met the entertainers tonight at sail away. Wow! Very talented. I’ll take individual quality entertainers every day over mega ship productions. Check out many You Tube streams on your ship. B. So far very impressed and I’m sure you will be. Get what you pay for.
  20. We are on board and the process took five minutes. We have the lowest suite and the main difference is that our balcony rail is not all plexiglass which is no big deal. Bath is all marble two sinks bath and walk in shower. Plenty of storage with walk in closet. We each get a bottle of alcohol/wine of our chose and they are replaceable. Super friendly crew. First impression is this is going to be a very nice experience. We had a lite lunch in Colonade with wine. No need to pay for drinks. Here are some pics.
