  1. A question for those of you who have sailed South America with stops in Brazil in the past year or two—if you are 70+, did you get the “recommended” yellow fever vaccine? If so, what side effects did you experience? We will, of course, also be speaking with our doctor. Thanks!
  2. We just sailed on the Marina and found her to be in great shape, even though the refurb will be welcome—especially the redone bathrooms! We had NO major complaints, and even the minor ones were hardly an issue. We are sailing again on her in November and January. Please remember comments are very subjective, even mine. 😊 Go and have a good time. Happy Anniversary!
  3. We certainly found that latitude issue to be the case on our recent Reykjavik to London cruise on the Marina.
  4. If you contact GroupsOCI, they can also let you know when the Captain’s party is. Ours is actually two days after sailing for our upcoming November crossing.
  5. Contact GroupsOCI@oceaniacruises.com. Someone in that group can help finalize your M&G plans. I have gone through them for the last two I’ve planned.
  6. We have only done Belfast on a land tour, but we really enjoyed a “black cab” tour. There is also a big Titanic museum.
  7. Thank you! I just signed up for our cruise that’s leaving soon. I really like that it also shows the others ships in each port, too.
  8. We had a similar experience. Yay, us!!! See you on board in January!
  9. Absolutely! If you haven’t already, there is also a roll call.
  10. If you are sailing on 1/21, we’ll look forward to meeting you on board. Only slightly jealous of your expedition cruise, but we’ll buck up. 😊 Jane & Ed
  11. Hi, Orv. I was able to get Paxlovid for our April cruise. I think there’s been a change in the last few months. Jane
  12. I think you’re probably right. Only way that I know that it might have made a difference would be if you’d done an on board booking. Enjoy!!!
  13. We were successful in moving one of our cruises over to the Summer Sale with very nice savings so, now, a new question. We have a second booked cruise, also in the Summer Sale. For this one, we have a “free” pre-cruise package. Have any of you been able to take advantage of the sale and keep your free land package?
  14. I have a request into my TA now to see about repricing a cruise we booked on board. Have any of you had success repricing a previously booked on board cruise, even though the t’s & c’s say new bookings only? If so, what did you lose or keep by going to the summer sale pricing? I feel like I’m getting conflicting answers. Also appreciate your thoughts on how the best price guarantee should work. Thanks much!
  15. Thanks, all, for the suggestions. Sadly, it is nowhere to be found. I will try again.
  16. Well, that’s weird. I just tried to send an email and not only did it not bounce back, it went off into email never never land. And I didn’t get it saved, so now I need to start over. It was a good email, too. Dang! I’m assuming you saw that it is resolutions(plural)desk?
  17. I spoke with a very nice O rep this morning on another matter, and while I had her, I asked about Simply More. She confirmed that there will no longer be a pure cruise only fare. When I told her we weren’t too happy about that and could she pass that along, she suggested that I contact resolutionsdesk at oceaniacruises dot com to share my thoughts. It appeared that I wasn’t the first person she’d heard that from.
  18. Based on what we think we know right now and on what you wrote, I would book now. It’s possible you could convert after July 1, if that looks like a better deal. Just me.
  19. It will be really interesting get the details on July 1. Given so much hullabaloo (at least on this board, anyway), I think they’re not doing themselves any big favors by waiting two weeks to make the details available, although it is kind of fun to see everyone’s reaction. We are pretty firmly in the cruise only camp, but we still spend money on board on drinks, the cooking classes, and, yes, even the occasional ship tour. If the rumors from knowledgeable sources are true about the demise of cruise only, we’ll be pretty disappointed. Depending on the cost difference between the current cruise only and the new simply more, which those of us who already have cruises booked will be able to get a good feel for, it may mean for us that we take fewer cruises in a year. That would make me very sad.
  20. There is no additional charge for non-alcoholic drinks. As for taking the OBC option, you pay $400 to get $400.
