You are mistaken, you paid for a cruise, where destinations can change, you took a risk booking this type of a vacation. If you want to assure certain destinations, don’t book a cruise. Read your contract.

Honestly it wouldn’t occur to me for cruise lines to advertise similar excursions to what they are offering that are much cheaper. Every time we’ve been to port Canaveral we’ve used non NCL transportation, it’s really easy to do some research. I’m surprised that folks will pay extra to take a NCL shuttle to cocoa beach when there are much cheaper options, but they do.

Actually all of those things make a difference, especially the timing of the booking.

Missed the train part, you could Amtrak to Newark Penn and stay at the Hilton, then nj transit train to Manhattan the next day.

It’s 1 1/2 drinks for me to break even, gratuities are about $20 a day, drinks are more than $10 each after gratuities.

I’m pushing 60, live in the same town I grew up in, same school schedule (school starts after Labor Day and ends the end of June). All states have legal requirements and they’re pretty similar.

At NJ MVC (the 9th circle of hell), no way you’re getting back in if you forgot something. Employees are not nice (don’t blame them).

MVC comes to our town a few times a year, as soon as the notification goes out slots are full, and there are still waits. During Covid before appointments folks liked up overnight and some never even got through the door before they closed the next day. Pre-Covid waits were 4+ hours, my kids passed their drivers test but because it was 1 pm they had to come back the next morning and wait 4 hours to get their physical license.

In NJ you can’t walk in for anything at the MVC, appointment only, and it can take a while to get one depending on where it is. You will be stopped at the door. Last time one had to wait outside for at least a half hour, and then go to different areas for different parts of the process just to renew my regular license.

What I don’t understand is how a college student can go on a 12 night cruise mid semester, I have 3 in college right now, one has a fall break this weekend so is off on Monday, but that’s it until the Wednesday before thanksgiving.

We just had a fire in our district, they went remote for 4 days, parents lost their minds. It’s for emergencies only.

Once you’re 18 you don’t need parents present, most college students are 18 by this time freshman year.

I’m holding off on real ID, it takes a month to get an appointment, my last appointment to renew my license took 3 hours, my passport and card are good for a while.

Chargebacks are just temporary in some cases, they need to investigate, this money will go back to the CC.

Hmm, my daughter lives an hour from me, there is an office by her (we all have AAA). This passport renewal was my birthday gift to her, she’s is super busy so not only did I pay but filled out the application and mailed it, she just needed to sign and get a photo. I’ll have her call and find out.

Well, there was a time when my passport lapsed, but at the time my kids were minors and weren’t traveling internationally. I renewed when my oldest was doing a study abroad in Greece.

The one in town doesn’t do passports, it takes weeks to get appointments elsewhere, when 2 of my kids went in for appointments they were sent elsewhere for photos, said the camera was broken but I know others had the same issue.

I don’t know anyone I’d need to get to out of this country (but I do have a passport). One of my kids doesn’t have one, sent in a renewal almost 2 months ago and got a letter saying her photo was rejected (that she paid Walgreens for, annoying).

Jersey week is the NJ teachers convention the first Thursday/Friday in November (plus lot have off that Tuesday for Election Day), many schools in the northeast have the whole week off for Presidents’ Day in February.
