Sorry Princess, but that’s NOT Chocolate Cake

It’s the same for cans of Gingerale and bottles of water. We never come close to our drinks maximum. These items including Diet Coke are just not included. Thanks for giving us all that money for a drinks package, but here at Princess we keep finding new ways to nickel and dime you. We are cheap like that! -

I wish. Simply not possible on this cruise. Does not matter that you have a drink package. You want Diet Coke? Ginger ale? Bottled water? Not included. Oh we will give you 25% off, but we do not care that you never come close to your maximum on the drink package. These items are just not part of your expensive package. Sorry. -

I guess I can try again tomorrow. But I am not the only one who has experienced the disappearance of chocolate cake on Princess. It’s similar to the Diet Coke mystery on this cruise. Only Coke Zero available for mini bar setup and drink package orders. We don’t like Coke Zero. What they never seem to mention is that you can have Diet Coke if you pay. Drink packages get a 25% discount, but you have to pay. 8th day of this cruise and had our first can of Diet Coke today. Yet our drink package supposedly covers drinks up to $16 aud? Why the untruths then that Diet Coke is not available?? Like the chocolate cake, just be up front about it. -

I ordered chocolate cake. They didn’t have chocolate cake. They sent a chocolate something. They should not have taken the order if they didn’t have it available. -

Weird is right. Also unappetizing, the smallest dessert yet on this cruise, and did nothing to satisfy my craving for the yummy looking chocolate cake in the picture in the app. Guess we booked the wrong cruise? -

Not sure how it can be the wrong thing? I do not see what I got as even being on the room service app. Did not call. Saw no point. -
Ordered chocolate cake on the app with dinner… Got a tiny bit of I am guessing chocolate pudding?? From the buffet? If you’re gonna cut back that much Princess, don’t show a delicious slice of chocolate cake on the app. And don’t call it chocolate cake. Seriously.

Ultimate Balcony Dinner on a small balcony.
thunderbaycruiser replied to wowzz's topic in Princess Cruises
Was not a fully booked situation, just not available at all on Majestic. Possibly staffing levels. Tried to book as soon as on board. Was not an option ahead of time on the app either. -

Anyone know why some ships do not offer UBD? On Majestic now and tried to book. Not available on this ship / cruise. Would have been nice considering all the cancellations due to Cyclone Gabrielle and now a medical emergency. -
Yes, which is why I was confused about the instructions. I complied, and had the printed copies ready (which I understood was redundant) and turned out as expected, not necessary. Just wish they could send out the correct instructions. Like “we know you uploaded your proof of vaccination in the app, but we need printed copies / or an image on your phone too. We don’t coordinate check in with the app or the ship”. *Face Palm*

Just boarded in Sydney on Majestic (Feb 11th) and if anyone thinks Priority means anything, it did not for us. We are platinum and in a full suite. Yes there was a Priority Line, but it was long and chaotic. I asked if we were supposed to be in some other line and was told “this is the priority line. There are 1,600 with priority today.” Essentially, having priority was meaningless. I also had not taken out our proof of vaccination because we uploaded that on the app, right? Nope. Ship gets that, not check in. Offered print outs of our Australian ETAs as oddly was requested in our boarding instructions. No need to see those! Then why ask us to print them for presentation at check in. A lot of disjointed, illogical chaos at check in that made the app seem useless. And nothing about the experience felt one bit prioritized. Just frustrating.

Covid Testing for Enhanced Guidelines Voyage
thunderbaycruiser replied to tawlaw1526's topic in Princess Cruises
What's missing by just posting Australian rules are the rules of every country on the itinerary. I am on the Feb 11th Majestic cruise out of Sydney. We are down to 5 ports of call from 6 due to covid. We have requirements to bring proof of medical insurance that covers Covid and repatriation. Even if we state that we will not go ashore, we cannot board Majestic without this proof of insurance. Has nothing to do with Australia. It's New Caledonia and Fiji demanding this. Guessing they also demand the covid testing and perhaps more (proof of vaccination, masking on board). Previously required by Australia, but still required by countries we will be visiting. -
Covid tests 3 days prior or 72 hours
thunderbaycruiser replied to Jemnibabe's topic in Princess Cruises
And for our cruise out of Sydney on Feb 11th, Princess says hours, not days (Australian rules for this voyage). For our cruise, a PCR Test can be done up to 48 hours before embarkation. We can self administer a Rapid Antigen Test, but that must be within 24 hours of embarkation. -
How would you go about not telling them? On numerous cruises, Princess has done ship wide tests of all passengers. I think I have heard this happening on Day 3 in some cases. Staff wait outside your cabin after handing you the test kit. You must then return the completed test. Apart from some sort of fraud, I do not get how you "wouldn't tell them".

Some ports have been requiring RATs of every passenger wanting to go ashore (when outbreaks are happening onboard). I have read about a couple of Australian based cruises where this protocol was implemented.
