Like a lot of travelers, we are just fed up with this stuff.  Have cancelled our land trip in Canada and will avoid cruising there until they stop being so "extra".  Lots of other places to go now.  I have heard that Canada's travel industry is putting pressure on their government to drop it already.  However, they haven't seemed very responsive.

I’ve been reading that it’s more difficult and expensive to get into Bermuda! I’m sailing from Greece next year and they also require covid test pre-embarkation. I’m tested frequently due to my employment - but I still have to pay for the “proctored” test for my 9/4 from NYC to Canada…..🥺 Hopefully this will all stop soon! As a side note, all my Canadian co-workers who cross the border daily for work said that they are talking about dropping the ArriveCan requirements….and it can’t be soon enough!

i am very interested in travel nursing.

Once you get a year of bedside nursing under your belt - the world is yours! If you can specialize - like ICU, ED, OB - you will make some major money! The only downside to that is you have to pay your own health insurance…..but it’ll be affordable! DO IT! I wish I would have gotten into travel nursing when I was younger…I’m too close to retirement now to leave my health system.

we are also short of nurses and have a TON of RNs Jumping ship too.

i am a guard, but i have mainly been working in inmate healthcare (basically floor security while the nurses, PA & physician do their thing)  for the last few years.

i am 95% sure that i am going to quit and start RN school myself this fall. i all ready have an unrelated degree (thus the MSUjohn) so my class load wont be as bad.

DO IT! If have a BS, you’d be a second-degree student in nursing, classes are super fast and only about a year long! MSU has the second degree option - you can do this!

Having stayed in the Haven aft many times before, yes, you will have less service, but you will still get service.  The location more than compensates for that.  Plus, it's nice to get away from the same people 24/7 in the Haven proper.

I’m thankful for vastly different experiences sailing Haven aft. I’ve only been ghosted by the butler once - and that was in a 2BR Haven suite in the Haven proper. I’ve sailed Haven aft a couple times - and had the best service ever! I’m sorry your experience wasn’t as good as mine were……🥺

  5. My sister had the birthday package set up for me on embarkation day…a couple signs, balloons and a birthday cake. It was all there when I first got to my cabin - it probably took the room steward about 5 minutes to put it up!  I say GO FOR IT! Have her room decorated! If it makes her smile, you’ve made her day!

We were on the same cruise in the Haven in 16714 a two-bedroom suite across from the pool area. We had zero issues. I did a Live review here on CC. We never even heard about this issue. Weird.

I’ve been following you! Thanks for letting us cruise with you this past week!

    I’ll be in 16124 in 6 weeks….

  7. @Coastalbreezes I agree! I’ve been ghosted by a butler (and let the concierge know) after meeting him on the first day. I always wait until the last night to make arrangements for the tip via guest services. I don’t ask for much and typically tip $10/day/person unless I’m sailing solo, then I just give a flat $100 for the week. And honestly, I’ve never used the butler for anything beyond the daily treats…..I’m OK with doing things for myself.

  8. They sometimes hold a certain percentage of excursion spaces for those who want to book on the ship. I’d make sure the excursion desk is the first place I’d go to once onboard as that would be your best chance at getting what you wanted.

We use the NCL-recommended (ncl.com/safe) eMed proctored test for all of our NCL and RCCL cruises. Fast. Easy. Done at the kitchen table sipping coffee in the morning. You get email results within 30 seconds after showing the proctor the negative results. For us, when I submit the receipt for the proctored tests to my insurance company, our medical insurance covers 100% of the cost.

I just ordered the test from eMed for my September cruise. Just so I’m prepared, will I need a charge card to pay the proctor or is that included in the cost of the tests?? TIA
