Hey all, Just curious. Have a friend on another website asking why a booking has come up missing. She is not a member of cruise critic.

But she has the Empress booked for April 19th and suddenly the booking is missing. Also if you go into royals site, the sailing is gone. Apparently when calling Royal, they have no clue.

Any one on here have any ideas for her????

Mario is onboard the Freedom right now. Met him the first day. Very nice man. So how many cruises does he have? Didn't want to ask!!

In cabin 7660 and happy to report that we also have a egg crate topper on our bed. Mattress seeks fine. But for some reason I can't sleep

New menu was good and agree that the comedian was great.

Is the site I used first when I saw the 10. But never heard of some of the lines, so not sure how small they are.

Do know for sure Freedom, Anthem and Harmony are there. And sorry if I didn't give the date, its Nov. 16th

Regardless, we know it will be busy and we have a boat tour booked with Robinsons. So we should be good there. Just hope we can get a seat at the "Buckeye Bar" for one drink before heading back on the ship. We are in port till 6 that day, so maybe the other ships will start clearing out before us.

(And for the others from Ohio, we are mid state, but all the way to the Indiana border. So quite a ways from Warren. And about 80 miles from Findlay)

Just read on our roll call that there will be 10 ships in St Maarten the day we are there??

Can this port handle that many ships?? There are a couple that I've never heard of. Two AIDA ships, 1 Tomson, 3 P&O, 1 Azamara, and 3 Royal Caribbean.

So glad we are doing a boat tour. Cannot imagine who busy the beaches and shopping will be

Are you staying somewhere precruise?? Call that hotel and asked. We have stayed at several places (in Fort Lauderdale and other ports) And normally if you ask them, they will allow you to come back post cruise.

We didn't have a room. But it was nice to pick a spot in the shade, and take a last swim or two, before heading for the airport. Especially if you are staying at a really nice hotel. Maybe you could ask if there would be a room available???

Returned from Freedom beginning of October. We thought the beds were comfortable!

I use the ones that you don't have to vacuum. They just get rolled tight.

I don't really use them for space saving reasons. As you have to really watch. If you were to use all space bags and completely fill a suitcase. I would assume it would be over the weight limit!!!

I use them as an easy/stress free way to pack for going home. Just bring 3-4 space bags. Each day if the clothes I wore are dirty and won't be worn again. I put them in a bag. After two days and a full bag. I seal it and roll it shut. Stick it under the bed with the luggage. On the last day. Almost all clothes is in bags and ready for the suitcase. And if there is anything I didn't wear (which there always is coz I overpack). I can keep clean and dirty clothing separate from each other

Makes packing to go home lots quicker so I can enjoy my last day on the ship.

If you do the vacuum ones. People on here say that the room steward will bring you a vacuum to use

Our flight time was changed once several years back. It was cutting to close for my comfort.

I called and told the airlines there was no way to make that flight. After much checking they ended up having to look at alternative airports in order to make a flight work.

Really worked to our benefit as they changed me to a closer airport that is normally to expensive to fly from.

Make sure to check all options if you decide to call and asked for a change.

Yes on both. We had surf/stream package in Rhapsody and used wife's iPhone 6 a lot for wifi calling. No issues once we figured out how to call home. We kept trying to dial 00 1 to call home but on wifi calling we just needed to dial the number as usual (area code and number). Family called us as normal and we did face time.

 

Wifi connection was spotty in out room at times.

You have to enable WiF calling on your phone. It's not an instantaneous process, you have to answer some questions about handing 911 calls and it takes a minute or so before it gets enabled. It will say "AT&T WiFi" on the top line once it's enabled.

 

Once WiFi calling is enabled, you can put the phone in Airplane mode, turn on WiFi, and use all the features of the phone as if you are connected to the US domestic cell network.

They did walk me thru turning on ATT Wifi. So I am good to go there.

I have an android and use wifi calling regularly. On my phone you will get a different indicator when you are using wifi calling so that you know it is not cellular. You can use it to call any phone. It's basically VOIP. I'm looking forward to testing it on my next cruise.

So even land lines phones??

And what about incoming??

OK, just got the new iphone 7. I am with ATT and I talked to ATT about how to use wifi calling. To bad the lady wasnt really clear or sure on how to use it.

Can anyone tell me if they have used wifi calling while on the ship?? HOw do I do it?? Just make a regular call?? I plan on putting phone in airplane mode and using imessages. But if I can and its free, may make a couple calls also.

The other question she couldn't answer was if this was only iphone to iphone. Or can it be used with any phone that has wifi calling. And how do I find out what phone have it??

Sorry for all the questions, but I trust the people on here that have already used it more than the people in ATT tech support.

WE are on the Freedom in 5 weeks and I really hope to take some clothing and school supplies along. Hopefully we will find something organized, but if not, I will just do the back pack idea that someone posted.

I did read on the other social media site, that efforts and collections of $$$ will be taken up onboard the ships as you exit. While I know money is king, I'm sorry, I don't trust all the hands that dip into the pot before its gets to where it is needed. Also don't trust that some of the people that do get the money end up using it for drugs or alcohol.

At least if I bring a bag of clothes and school supplies the government can't take half!!!!

Agreed..and I can't see how money (at THIS moment) would help. Their urgent need right now is food, water and clothing. I wish there was a way that RC could let all the pax know to bring clothing for the Haitians on their future cruises. Money "right now" would not do much good. It isn't like they can go "shopping". Supplies are of the utmost importance.

So is this something we can actually do?? We will be in Labadee in 5 weeks and I would love to bring an extra suitcase filled with clothes. Is this something we can do?? Where would we take it?? Hopefully if this is something that is possible, Royal will let us know.
