  1. I agree. Last week we did this excursion. We arrived in port at 11am, and we met at 11:30. Our bus left shortly before 12 (it could have been more efficent, but that's another story). There were busses that left Tabyana once they were full. I believe we left around 4.
  2. Thank you for your pictures and reviews of the food. We are long time Carnival cruisers, and will be trying out the new menu next month. Sad about the cold soups not being on the menu anymore!!
  3. Agreed. Tweezers and manicure scissors. DIY.... I love pulling stitches out. Bring me on your cruise with you and I'll do it free of charge!!!
  4. We did Spirit to the Caribbean in January. Haven't done an Alaska cruise yet, so we can't comment on that part. No complaints at all regarding Spirit. Food/Service/Ship were great. We've been on 24 cruises FWIW... See if "I Made" is still a bartender in the Red Frog Pub. He'll take care of you.

I'd like to add one more thing... We've been on 24 cruises. We've never used a ship excursion and always booked on our own. We had a huge amount of onboard credit with Carnival this time, and booked their Tabyana Beach Excursion. On the way back, we ran into a lot of traffic in Coxen Hole (where the non-Carnival ships dock for thise who don't know). Although we didn't leave on the last bus back to the ship, we would have been worried if we had taken a taxi to Tabyana like we've done several times in the past and waited until later to have the taxi meet us to bring us back to the ship. Maybe this was unusual, but we would definitely consider booking thru the ship again next time. Enjoy Bananarama. Their drinks are larger than other places!!!

We were in Roatan in January. Acording to the sign at Mahogany Bay, it was $30 each way. This was INSIDE the gate. Perhaps you could barter a cheaper fare if you walk outside the gate and over the hill.
  7. Fantastic job on the review as aways!!! We were getting on Spirit the day you got off (us at our AirBnB in Miami is probably somewhere in the background of your pictures)! We had a new cruise director, Erin that started that day. We had Erin on a Paradise cruise from 2018 and enjoyed her both times. Your observations of Spirit are spot-on. We really enjoyed our cruise and wouldn't hesitate to sail on Spirit again. Looking forward to your next reviews!! Paul
  8. Just an update: Just back from Spirit today. We did book the excursion as soon as we got on board with no problem. The bus was scheduled to leave at 9:30am (it left about 9:50). Several busses transported us to the beach (about a 40min drive or so). They had busses returning every half hour from 12:30pm (Ship time) to 4:00. We headed back on the 2:30 bus and ran into a bit of traffic in Coxen Hole on the way back. Hope this helps anyone interested. We did decide that having to be back at 1:30 would not have given us enough time at the beach. We could have stayed a little longer, but we were getting hungry (they did have food at the beach... but... free food on board...etc...)
  9. We just got back from Spirit today. The Alchemy bar had a 4 martini sampler (smaller quantities) on two of the nights from 5pm to 10pm for $25 (night 2 and night 5, I believe). We didn't try it, but did see that they were offering it.
  10. We took our minor niece with us on a Caribbean cruise. This is the letter that we had signed and notarized by both parents. We had her passport and a copy of her birth certificate with us. We used her passport to get on the ship and when we went through Immigration upon our return. Nobody asked for anything else. We did, however take a copy of passport, birth certificate and the two letters with us off the ship in port just in case. It was probably overkill, but we wanted to be prepared for any emergency. Hope this helps!! 11. Jamman, It sounds like you're enjoying your cruise on Spirit. We will be boarding on Sunday when you return. Did you happen to notice if the Red Frog Pub still has their "Happy Hour" on embarkation day where you get the 2 for 1 pitchers? We haven't sailed since 2020 (I KNOW!!!), and last time they had that deal. I'm getting mixed answers as to if it's still going on. Thanks. Enjoy the rest of your cruise and get Spirit ready for us!! Paul
  12. We have been to Roatan several times on cruises and have always booked our own taxi to Tabyana Beach. For our cruise next month, we have a lot of onboard credit to use up, so we figured that we would use it to book the Carnival Tabyana Beach Break. As best I can tell from the website it looks like it is scheduled from 9:30-1:30 (stating that the excursion is 4 hours). Will this be the actual time of the excursion, meaning that our transportation will pick us up at the ship at 9:30 and we'll be back at 1:30? Seems like a short time at the beach since it's a 30+ minute drive and the ship doesn't leave until 6:00. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but i think in the past (several years ago) Carnival had several busses running back and forth from the ship to Tabyana, so we would have some flexibility as to our return time (sometime after 1:30!!) Has anyone done this recently that can let us know how this excursion works? Thanks in advance, Paul
  13. Thanks for the insight. My main purpose for the purchase of these shares is in order to benefit from the OBC. We cruise 1-2 times per year, so if I bought the shares for less than $10/share (maybe I'll wait and see where it goes. I passed on the $8/share at the beginning of Covid) it would pay for itself after several years, not counting any increase in share price. Assuming Carnival doesn't eliminate or restrict the usage of that OBC in the future.....
  14. Speaking only of the OBC benefit and not of a potential share price increase, Is holding at least 100 shares in order to get the OBC even worth it anymore? From what I'm seeing, now that OBC really only applies to non "reduced rate" sailings? Fortunately, we often seem to sniff out a deal on our cruises, so I'm guessing that would be considered a "reduced rate". I'm concerned that I may never see the benefit of the Shareholder Benefit (again, not speaking of any potential share price increase). Share price is below $10 today, so this is on my mind again. Thanks in advance.
