  1. I found one recently from when we moved to Paris in 1994 and my husband had his laundry done before we moved into our house there. They don't fall off; you need to purposely peel them off.
  2. My advice is that anytime a site offers a "skip the line" option, you need to take that . Probably one of the best things ever invented 😁
  3. There are safari that are happening right now and have been for awhile. Personally, I prefer to cruise 😀
  4. Wow, talk about perseverance ! While I have never done Viking’s excursion to the Coliseum, I have been there twice and would say that you need to go inside with a guide and hear the history and the stories of life at the Coliseum. A skip the line type of tour is essential and so I would double ( and maybe triple ) check with Viking as to how they handle a tour there.
  5. Success cake is too sweet for me. I will take a waffle or a Kringle, or both. I'm good with the Irish Coffee though.
  6. For a July 2022 sailing I see Specialty Dining open 19 Apr 2022 and The Restaurant Dining open for reservations on 09 April 2022 . While I don’t like the thought of having to make reservations for MDR, I agree with @deec, I can live with if we just get to sail soon. It may not be forever and it may not even be for all of 2022, but just something in the plan for the moment .
  7. The Celebrity one was post and when we flew back to Quito from Baltra, the people doing MP were to fly to Lima and do what you mentioned and flew home via Lima at the end. Unfortunately since it was March 2020, that portion of the trip was cancelled when we arrived back in Quito .😟
  8. Pretty much the same with Celebrity . Or you could do the 2 nights in Quito also ( they had some sort of promo with air that was a pretty good deal ) . We really enjoyed the stay and tours in Quito.
  9. We did the Galapagos on the Celebrity Flora last March ( just snuck it in before they closed Ecuador and cancelled the rest of the Flora cruises for 2020 ) . They did a wonderful job with 2 nights in Quito. Some people were doing the Machu Picchu extension which was cancelled due to border closings. You might look at that if you have your heart set on the Galapagos.
  10. What a great idea ! So you would put 2 or 3 of these bags in the machine at a time ?
  11. Haven't been on this trip but I would say that if you do the Falls on day 17 you will disembark the ship on that day and do you Falls trip ; so basically get off on that day with all your things, do the overnight trip and then fly back to BA that afternoon and then fly home on day 18 at night as many flights to the US from BA are late night flights. You would give up touring in Buenos Aires to go to Iguazu Falls. For the Day 2 option, then you give up the day in Montevideo, do the falls that day , fly back to Buenos Aires the morning/early afternoon of Day 3 and I would think that the ship
  12. I know that I have received several over the last few years . Sometimes it is a river and ocean brochure , sometimes separate one for ocean and separate one for river cruises.
  13. I agree. If you booked while the Risk Free Cancellation policy is in effect, your booking will be held to that policy even when they no longer offer it. I don't think that it is a case of revoking the policy in a confirmed booking ,but not extending the policy at a certain point. For instance, in the case of a Lift and Shift policy for Azamara, they will no longer be offering that as an option after 31 January. It does not mean, however, that those clients that have confirmed a Lift and Shift option before the 31st will have the pricing taken away. Same with the Risk Free with Viking. Once
  14. I am thinking about doing Hawaii ( although there is no Explorer's Lounge there😁 ) staying there for a few weeks. Did you feel that it was an any different experience , anymore restrictions than staying in your hometown ?
  15. We enjoyed Yangon the last time we were there and did a "live like a local " tour over 2 days. Not sure what we will do this time.
  16. I hear you about Russia and China. Find me on board our WC and I can tell you some of my experiences for clients in filling out those Russia and China forms 😉. Probably shouldn't put it in writing on a public forum ! I like GenVisa, but they do take much longer than other companies ( like CIBT ) to complete the process so I plan on having my passport available to send off by no later than mid/ late September.
  17. This is a link to the GenVisa Ultimate World Cruise Visa requirements for 2019/2020. https://www.genvisa.com/vikingworldcruise/Ultimate_World-Cruise_Visa.pdf. They do show that 6 pictures were needed. May be the same for us, but I think that I would wait until the official requirements come out from Viking/ GenVisa later this year. This link will give you a general idea of how it works . Fortunately for those of us on the 2022 WC, we are not doing China so no need to fill out that long form 😉. We are doing Myanmar and Turkey which have much shorter forms . The nice thing about doing
  18. It will be interesting to hear the answer as I don’t think it will be many . These days so many visas are e-visas and those require you to upload a picture ; they have specific criteria for that especially India, but having done several for clients , I can tell you that it is not difficult . I think that the last time I looked only 1 or two countries required a non e-visa .
  19. Still waiting for our appointment which should be soon . We did the Bali to Sydney December 2019. A word of caution about the heat and humidity on Komodo Island. Make sure that you bring plenty of water, a hat, I took the umbrella from the room and a good suggestion that I got from Cruise Critic was to chill a washcloth in the refrigerator to take along in a baggie to cool down your face and neck. I had heard how some people collapsed from the heat and humidity and did not want that to happen to us. We saw 3 people taken out on stretchers ! We did fine; did the shorter walk which I t
  20. I agree. With many real time experiences ( vs. policy ) a lot depends on the agent handling the transfer. I am a firm believer in " you don't ask, you don't get "
  21. I agree with @peregina651 in that you need to check with a UK agent as there are no transfers for us in the US unless you do their airfare or pay if you want transfers while doing independant air.
  22. In rereading my post above, I realize that I incorrectly stated that if you deviate your air from the sail dates that you need to pay for transfers on that date. In truth , normally you can not get Viking transfers if you fly in/out on any date other than the sail dates. There might be a time when you are staying at the same pre or post cruise hotel and can talk someone into letting you buy a transfer or stay at the airport the night before and then try on the sail date to get them to take you from the airport, but to me that is a bit risky . The only time that you can pay for airport transf
  23. The coffee choices in the Living Room bar are excellent ( especially as Jim said, with Baileys !) However, I try to do the Nespresso in the room more so I am not tempted by all the lovely muffins and pastry at the Living Room Bar .
  24. It could be that there is a Discount Code ( EBD) that needs to be requested or that the dates that you are looking at do not qualify for the free air and double discount ( for that, I think you had to have travelled twice with Viking within the past 12 months ) It might be a good idea to give your TA that brochure so that she/he can read off the promo to Viking and to double check the criteria for the double past guest discount .
