We are a mid 50's, empty-nester couple. D+ almost exclusively Radiance and Vision class ( with a few Voyager class sprinkled in.)
As we have no children, the Harmony wouldn't be a preferred choice of ship, and I admit to feeling a bit intimidated by the size/ crowds. However this particular cruise fit nicely with an already planned trip to Galveston. So we decided, why not? 😬
Can anyone share what they love about this ship? Bonus points if you are similar demographics. 😄
Thanks!

This varies by ship and sailing. We got new vouchers on the morning of turnaround day of a B2B last year but many have reported not receiving them recently.
I am hearing this as well.

Free champagne / mimosas at the art auctions as well as welcome back party. Sorry.... just realized you specifically asked about the first day.

I've hypothesized it may even keep people OUT of places like the Solarium b/c, like you mentioned, adults are busy with their kids doing kid-friendly stuff.
Very interesting perspective. Something for me to think about.

I love Bermuda! Looks like you are having a fabulous time!

@Tapi Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You've accurately expressed my hesitation of why I have not cruised on this class. Not to mention, I'm older, kids are grown, so all the fun, kid-friendly activities are not important to me. I am booked on Quantum fall of 2024. I'm not sure what shock I'm in for after 25+ cruises on Radiance and Vision classes. 😀

Not related to the cost of drinks, but I would imagine the teens would have more fun on a cruise. Especially the newer, bigger ships with all the amusement park type activities.

Enjoying your posts. Looking forward to your cruise review. I was on the Vision in April (different itinerary.)

Enjoyed reading your review. Though I know it will never happen, I just wish they would build new ships in the Vision, Radiance class size. The behemoth ships they are building now have no attraction for me, especially with the non-existent views of the sea from interior public spaces.
Agree!

we do have a special place in our hearts for a Vision class. Grandeur did not disappoint us one single bit.
Me too! Grandeur was my first, back in 2007. Sailed Grandeur and Enchantment many times. Love them both!

I do love how someone starts a thread and never comes back to answer questions. The op isn't 100% clear.
Hi, I am the OP of this thread. But this did not happen to me. I am just re-posting what I saw on a social media site. If I remember correctly, it was for a specialty coffee the morning of departure.

There is a post on a social media group with someone saying they were denied using their free diamond drinks on departure day, and that this is a new rule going forward. Anyone else? On my last cruise in March, we definitely used ours.

We saw him recently on the Vision sailing March 31 -Apr 10. Fabulous!

The Miami sail away is the most beautiful in FL in my opinion. Sailing through Biscayne Bay and past South Beach can’t be beat. Nothing wrong with the other Florida ports but nothing special either. I’ve never had any major issues with MIA or the drive to the port, although I’ve never been the one driving 😁
Now I feel like I should take a cruise from Miami, just to see this. 😃 I have always enjoyed sail away from Tampa.

Miami is a DISASTER!
Thanks for the info, good to know.

Thanks for posting the ship photos! I will be on the Infinity later this year, and have been hearing the ship is in rough shape. I think it looks beautiful!

What's wrong with Miami as a departure port? I have never sailed from there. A few times from Ft Lauderdale, several from Tampa. Once from Port Canaveral. I try to avoid Port Canaveral because, for the most part, the itineraries don't appeal to me. (Specifically Perfect Day.)

Yes, I frequently order a salad and a soup. Most recently was on the Vision in early April. No problems at all.

Does anytime dining get the same wait staff every night in the main dining room?
In our experience, no. We've done My Time twice so far (once Royal and once Celebrity), and in both cases, we were not at the same table each night, sometimes in a different section. Being new to My Time, we were a bit surprised by this. After we realized this, we did request same table and wait staff going forward each night. But still got shuffled around to other places.

I was faced with this same dilemma a few months ago, having seven weeks between cruises. I had a choice to expedite passport renewal and hope I got it in the seven week time frame, or sail the Southern Caribbean with a passport due to expire in three months. From conversations with TA friends, I was worried I would be denied boarding, so I chose to renew. I got it back with a week to spare. But I was certainly nervous during the waiting period. Based on a lot of CC responses, I probably would have chosen differently.

Thanks for the live review. I am following along. I will be on Infinity in December, and have been hearing less than favorable reports about the ship. I, too, booked for the itinerary, so not too concerned. But rather curious what to expect.

Thanks to everyone who has responded, appreciate the feedback.

Interesting. I've never been on a ship that didn't have a pool in the solarium.
