  1. What are the odds of randomly seeing the same couple (complete strangers) on two different cruises? We sailed Celebrity in June - Cape Liberty, Bermuda itinerary, and then Enchantment in Sept., Baltimore to NE/Canada. On the Sept EN cruise, I recognized a couple that I had seen on a previous cruise. After a brief chat, we confirmed they were on the same Celebrity sailing. Thought it was certainly unusual. Not sure it happens very often.

Cross posting on Celebrity board as well.

  3. Our cruise planner for our upcoming cruise shows options to reserve specialty restaurants, or MTD. Is there no such thing as early and late seating anymore, where you are seated at the same table with the same wait staff every evening? For our last two cruises, we reserved MTD for the same time every evening. But our table and section changed everyday. Some days a table for two, sometimes a shared table, and never in the same section. Every evening checking in with the hostess, we requested to be seated in the same section with the same wait staff, but were told they cannot do that. Is this the way MTD works? Is this the "new" way of MDR, or did we just have two unfortunate experiences? Based on these experiences, we want to cancel MTD for our future cruises, and go back to early seating. Is this still offered?

  4. On Celebrity in June, we were permitted to drop off our carry-ons in our cabin shortly after boarding (around noon) even though the rooms weren't yet ready / finished cleaning. I have never experienced this in all of my previous cruises. This was my first time with Celebrity, so not sure if that is standard policy for them. Is this a Celebrity policy only? Or is this a new policy for Royal as well? Or was this just a fluke, random experience? It was nice to go for lunch without wheeling a bag.

Any recent cruiser experiences? We are cruising on EN Sept 8.

  5. Royal's website mentions Sorrentos as a dining option on the EN, but I can't find it on the deck plan...?

Secondly, I could have sworn the last time I was on the EN, there was a Johnny Rockets, which I don't see. Is my memory failing me, or is it no longer there, or have I just overlooked it on the deck plans?

    Thanks

And that is incorrect information.  You can request the same table and wait staff every evening in MTD.  You have to wait to be seated only on first evening.

So weird how that quote shows I made the post. This was someone else's response to my statement that I was surprised I didn't have the same wait staff every night at MTD.

Post 22 is mine. Post 23 is a response to mine, which is what you have quoted here. Not sure how that happened. 🤔

  7. Interesting topic.

We sailed Serenade this past New Years and had MTD reservations for the same time every evening. This was our first time using MTD. We were NOT seated at the same table every night. As a matter of fact, one of the evenings, we were in a different section with different wait staff. Other than that one exception, we did have the same staff, but it was three different tables. I guess I thought that's how MTD worked. So yes, we waited in line every night. ( I thought we were supposed to.)

Similar experience on Celebrity in June. Three different tables, but all within the same section and wait staff.

This is not how it normally works? We are on EN in three days, and would love to walk directly to our table and avoid the line.

Royal do not keep kids off the floors. They run around you while you are dancing. There parents just sit back and let them go. It is bad when one is out there 2 or more will be there. Parents need to keep them off or real try and dance with them instead of it being a gym floor. The disco kid are not allowed.

Good point. There are definitely more kids on Royal than Celebrity.

Recently  Royal was offering a sting bracelet with a charm, every night.  The color/charm was different each day.  If I recall, you had to stop in the jewelry store at a specific time   No sales lecture.  The bracelet is cute for young girls.

This is very similar to my experience on Celebrity. No sales pitch, just show up at a certain time and collect the free item. Thanks
