  1. Thanks for that Fiona. Just been on walkabout in Vigo and it was hammering it down at times. My wife and I still carried on because we were enjoying the walk. People must have thought we were bonkers but we didn’t care. All good fun and a bit of rain ain’t going to spoil it. As they say you can take the boy out of Scotland but you can’t take the Scotland out the boy
  2. All I did was log my covid test result through the government website for this purpose. It asks you if you wish to receive a notification of the result which I confirmed. You are then sent a text message as you have already put your mobile number in when you registered (I think on the NHS app) and an email. I took this as a print out and also took the test cassette itself (which you could still see the negative line even after three days). The check in lady checked the print out and the cassette and cleared me through. All really easy and simple. I kept the text message and email on my phone as back up but it was not required. Thanks Fiona hopefully Lisbon is sunny but the forecast isn’t too positive. It’s pelting down here in Vigo at the moment
  3. End of day two now and what is very noticeable is the fact that masks are not being worn. Seldom do you see anyone with a mask on and I must say I find it a bit refreshing. Really enjoying the break so far and the staff are all great. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I guess it’s true what they say ; a holiday is only as good as what you want it to be and as this is my first for three years I’m enjoying it immensely. First stop tomorrow Vigo where it’s expected to be raining ha ha.
  4. On board Anthem at the moment. The whole check in process in Southampton went very smoothly. You deffo don’t need to do anything else than a home covid test. The check in lady looked at the NHS printout and the test cassette I brought with me to show we were negative and cleared us through. I was done with the whole process in less than 5 minutes and on board 5 minutes later. Easiest it’s ever been and I’m mightily impressed. First impressions of the ship staff, brilliantly friendly. Looking forward to my cruise. Got in my cabin around 1pm and now just waiting on my luggage. I know where the suitcases are as I’m tracking them with my air tags. I do like my gadgets
  5. I submitted my test results through the NHS site and they send you an email and text confirming that the test is negative. I’ll be taking that plus a photo and the test cassette itself. That’s the one I don’t understand as it may have faded by that time. I’ll also take spare unused tests just in case I have to have them witness me carrying out a test.
  6. Thanks Fiona really looking forward to the break. Will advise on the process boarding
  7. As I’m sailing out of Southampton on Sunday I’ll update the forum on how I get on. That is of course if people are interested
  8. Just had a response from the concierge on board Anthem and he has confirmed that self administered testing is fine now for Sundays sailing. Done the tests this afternoon on my wife and I and printed/saved the necessary details so all good. Looking forward to a great cruise, first one for three years.
  9. Thanks. Seems daft spending that £60 when all their faqs etc quite clearly states home tests are ok. It’s whether the staff at Southampton are aware of it though. Makes your point more relevant I guess. Looks like this policy change only came in on Monday. I have got an email from RCI confirming it as well. Think I’ll take all the documents with me a proof. Difficult one
  10. I’ve asked the same question. I’m sailing on Sunday out of Southampton and it quite clearly states home testing is accepted. I’m in a suite and have asked the concierge to clarify, or actually confirm. Was going to get my wife and I a supervised test tomorrow costing £60 but this will save me money. Just don’t want to turn up on Sunday and have a problem. it would be great if someone had experience of going through this
  11. Wife and I are due to sail from Southampton on Sunday and I’ve just received an email from Royal Caribbean where it clearly states that we can do a lateral flow test at home unsupervised. We’ve got a supervised test session booked for Friday afternoon which will cost nearly £60 and I’m now thinking if I don’t need it why spend the money I’ve been keeping a close eye on things but I’ve missed this really important change. Can anyone give me some advice please as up to now it had to be supervised and couldn’t be done at home. Funnily enough we’ve both just done a test today and we’re both negative. Can you help please Thanks
  12. I really enjoy having prune juice in the morning with breakfast. Does anyone know if they have it on Anthem please. Thanks
  13. Yes sailing from Southampton and will be park8ng at the ABP parking area which is right next to the ship
  14. The check in for my upcoming cruise in September just opened. I’ve loaded all of the information on to the site but have a query. I’ve uploaded my vaccination documents but the first vaccine record requirement was a bit unclear. It’s headed initial vaccination details but them asks for date of final dose then asks for the date of the booster. Is this not the same or is it looking for the date of the second dose. it also advises that validation is in progress. Are they checking this against a database in the UK and when do they come back to you. Thanks as always
  15. My wife and I are on anthem in September and I guess we will still have to do the covid test within two days of embarkation. Perhaps this is a daft question but will any observed ‘fit to fly’ test be acceptable by RCI please? The one I’m looking at is through Medicspot. Never heard of them before so not sure if they’re any good. However I might use Lloyds Pharmacy if I can’t find any decent reviews on Medicspot. Thanks for any advice you can provide
  16. Yes I’m in a grand suite. Looking forward to it as the wife and I haven’t been ‘on holiday’ for nearly three years. Got a few cruises booked now so this will be the acid test I guess. My wife will have one or two alcoholic drinks at night but I’ll probably have a couple of alcohol free beers. Depends if the lounge offers drinks off the limited list or within reason any drink. This is another question of course
  17. Just to clarify I’m diamond plus and in a suite. Just wondered how they would administer it all. If D+ are not allowed in (which is different to what I read on the RCI website) then fine.
  18. I’m on Anthem in September and was wondering about the facilities for suite guests. In particular does the ship still have a concierge lounge or has it changed to a suite lounge. If it’s still a concierge lounge has the happy hour offering (complimentary drinks) changed therefore for suite guests. Do they no longer get these. The reason is of course if it’s a concierge lounge as diamond plus members now get access again, do they get the free offering. If that’s the case then it’s going to be pretty jam packed. Maybe I’m putting two and two together to add up to five. Anyone know please.
  19. Wife and I are on Anthem in September. Had a look at the cruise planner today and the on line check in isn’t available. When do you think it opens to enable me to load all the relevant details please
