Until someone shows definitive proof based on extensive testing, no one is going to convince me sailing on a cruise ship is any more “dangerous” when it comes to this virus than being in extremely close proximity of other people on an airplane, a train, a subway, a bus, etc. I know from your previous posts you are a big supporter of the CDC, but it appears the CDC just has a personal vendetta against the cruise industry. I still have not seen one study proving being on a cruise ship significantly increases your chances of catching this virus.

I think the virus spreading like wildfire across cruise ships back in March gives you a good test case.

I have no idea.  I doubt with the current virus conditions they will allow ships to sail.  They could always be proactive.....naw, that would be stepping up to do their job proficiently.  That said, they are failing our country big time, so one more announcement in that light will not hurt.

Not sure who they is, but I think a large group of people in this country are failing our country by not taking the virus seriously.

Totally disagree with this.   It's not the same as the boss coming in Friday afternoon and dumping a pile of work on your desk due Monday.   This is my vacation.   I enjoy pretty much all aspects of the process, including the check in.   I look forward to it, makes it more real that my cruise is getting close.   If they have a logical, sound reason (which I'm assuming they do), then fine it is what it is.   But explain to me, your customer, why the change was necessitated!!  Why did you have to change the rules we both had agreed to???

Maybe to not put people through the hassle of checking into a cruise they have know all along would be canceled.

Good pts. Also the education of our kids. They gave a estimate of lost earning power our kids have due to us shutting them down. 1500 scientists or doctors have now banned together saying economic shutdown hurts worse than the virus.

It is amazing to me the selective listening some will do to scientist and doctors.  There are a lot of scientist and doctors out there that have been saying wearing masks and social distancing is a good thing and many think that tramples on their freedom.

We also have people dying who go to work every day to enable those who choose to seclude themselves; from fire fighters, to sanitation workers, Instacart drivers to grocery store stockers.  Those who sit at home and point fingers can only do so because someone is willing to shoulder their risk, go out into the world daily, and keep whatever services and necessities flowing to the critics.  A large portion of the population is in this daily, it is nothing but chance.

It is amazing how the narrative continues to change with some people , but never do they blame the maskless freedom warriors.  You all are now blaming the people who have worn masks the entire time and done things that if everyone in this country would have done back in March we would be in a lot better shape right now.  That is a very delusional way of looking at things.

I am booked on a Dec. 5 cruise out of Port Canaveral and I haven’t received any notice of cancellation yet. I expect it, but it has to happened yet.

The way Carnival has been handling it for the past 6 months is waiting until the very last minute so they can rake in as much money as they possibly can from there loyal customer base before they cancel and do everything they can to get you to re book so they can keep your money to help them stay afloat.

I respect your views, but this is an area we are never going to agree on. I strongly believe in the freedom this country was built upon. It’s why I dedicated over 20 years of my life to the military to play a small part in preserving that freedom.

The CDC telling people what they can and can’t do is not acceptable in my book, at least the way they are doing it right now. To say cruise ships can’t sail, but people can still travel by buses, subways, trains, airplanes, etc. is not about science, it’s about punishing the cruise lines. Now if the CDC banned all forms of travel, to include airplanes, trains, etc., than I might believe the CDC was serious about this virus.

It seems the CDC bans cruising and not the other forms of transportation because you don't spend a week or more on an airplane or subway with someone.  That is why they don't want US travelers on cruise ships.  People try to make it seem like the CDC has some sort of political vendetta against the Arison family.  I don't believe that is the case.

It is surprising in that they create questions instead on answering questions.  If they took your lead, then simply extend the no sail order and be done with it.

It seems to me they are just trying to stop the spread of the disease.  When you have a name like Center for Disease Control you would not be doing your job if you suggested it was a good idea for Americans to get onto a big boat and sing at piano bars and hangout in small comedy clubs and sit at bars and restaurants in close proximity to others.  I frankly don't understand why they don't extend the no sail order at this point with the US numbers through the roof like they have been the last 25 days.

I am not really sure how this is surprising.  In the month of October there has only been one day with new cases under 40,000 cases of the virus.  October 23rd had over 85,000 cases in the US.  It seems like the Center for DISEASE control is just doing there job and being realistic about the spread of the virus, by telling people it is not a very smart idea to be confined to a boat with a large group of people at this particular time.

So, Wife and I cancelled out September cruise on the Glory and I found a Suite on the Glory on March 14th for $2k total. I took the risk and hope that it will be sailing. I really dont care if ports are canceled just want to get back cruising. Do you think Glory will sail in March?

North Carolina just had the highest number of cases of the virus yesterday since the beginning of the pandemic.  No one knows what the next 6 months will bring, but that fact that I just typed is not a good sign for March.

    As of today.

All cruises for November out of Port Canaveral and Miami Florida are all Carnival.

They are: Liberty 9, Conquest 4, Elation 2, Breeze 2 many dates are sold out.

Starting in December from Port canaveral and Miami are these.

First out is Norwegian then Carnival, Royal, MSC and Disney.

I'll believe it when I see it.  I will restate that I have said all along that it would be the end of the year before any of the ships left out of the US.  Many on the boards stated they thought we would be back cruising by May early on.  I will let you figure out whose predictions were more spot on.  Cheers mate.

Not my preference but they sure seem to find a way to them.

It has been pointed out many times by some of the people on this board who have no idea about my financial situation that I must be poor because I don't want to give an interest free loan to a multi billion dollar company.  I am not poor.  I am also not rich and am not privy to hang out in many executive lounges.  I will have to take your word for it.

@skridge check this out! How could they be wrong? Cruising is coming back and it will be better than ever. Clearly, they cannot wait to bring the fun back to you.

I will believe it when I see it.  I would also like to say I hope it does start back, but that kind of goes against the fact that it is not a good idea to put a bunch of people on a cruise ship breathing all over each other at this time so I will not say that.  But I know you parrot every word that comes out oh JH mouth as the gospel truth even though it has been shown to be false time and again over the past 6 months and you also bash JH out of the other side of your mouth which is very confusing to those of us trying to have a dialogue about the current situation.  I really don't know how to talk to you about it other than we will see how it plays out over the next month or so.  Cheers mate.

It is fairly unique space.  They did a good job with the area.

My kids loved being able to walk across the hall and grab cookies and milk out of the lounge.  I think they also just really liked they had a place they could go that was "exclusive" to those rooms.  Guess that mindset starts early.😂

What are the ages for kids in the Family Harbor rooms?   We are looking to bring our 14 year old and her friend with us and want to know if they would be too old for these rooms.

One of my favorite rooms was a family Harbor.  The kids loved it.  There was plenty for kids of all ages.  I don't think there is an age limit.

The travel channel did something like that with an NCL sailing, it did talk about profitability.....but really apples and oranges, staffing and lots of other factors.

Agreed .  I was trying to give some perspective to the topic.  I have watched a lot of cruise documentaries while being overly excited about an upcoming sailing.  Just looking through some of the ones I have watched in the past today trying to find the quote made me sad about the current situation.
