Free drinks on Royal Caribbean

Certainly not lowly Diamond, we have all been there and a fantastic achievement, but 4 drinks and a lot of the perks too. Just 1 day of internet though. -

Chili I agree wth you. We have never had a problem getting ANY drink. I know it states a value but we have just asked for whatever we require as long as it is only 5 drinks per day. Perhaps things have changed since December though. Will find out shortly if I can get my glass of bubbly (French of courseš¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š„š„š„) -
Amazing obc. Does that mean Eclipse is not returning? We are on Eclipse shortly so might talk to their future cruises about this cruise. Thanks for the information.

When is the cruise Chili, I am interested? Our son lives in Cairns and I like to take every cruise opportunity to go there, although tendering, on a large ship is a nightmare.
-
We have two cruises coming up. 1 5 nighter and 1 in April 10 nights. Hoping for the immunity but definitely wonāt be taking chances! Same with trains and public transport!

When I read about the No mask rule, it took me back to that Majestic cruise we were all on. I hope history doesnāt repeat itself, as I never want to feel that sick again. Masks still for us.š·š·š·š·š·

Thank you

Gbenjo might be able to answer this question. Has check in changed for Diamond + ? In our cruises November/December there was not a priority lane, but the Hotel Director told someone at the Captainās Corner it would change. As I was a transit passenger, it didnāt apply to me, but I didnāt see a priority queue. The reason I am asking is that I have just checked in for 5th April and didnāt get my preferred time! Not an issue, we will have early lunch somewhere and come back. It is such a nightmare checking in (worst part of the day actually), with people shoving for no reason. We are only in a JS, so I know that makes no difference. Thanks Cheryle

Hey Chez, We have flown Port to Cairns via Brisbane. About $600 each return. Considering what a flight to Sydney costs, I didnāt think it too bad. About to do it again. Just a thought. PS Agree about our little planes, so much room.

Same here about to do No. 4 this season. 8 in total for Ovation and over it (Chili we seem to be agreeing today). š¤£

Good question Chez. Definitely not Carnival. Going to try P&O again from Cairns as our son lives there, Princess, Celebrity, NCL are all good and probably some Cunard segments might do us from Sydney. I do think Royal will give us a smaller ship soon, and I will go on Brilliance to use FCC. The only good thing about Ovation for the next cruise is hopefully I can use Coastal Kitchen and the 5 drinks per day! Something always comes up.š

Chili, We agree! When we were on Majestic, we could use the balcony in Brisbane because of the smell. Except it wonāt to Melbourne. I wonāt cruise from Melbourne and the ships based there are struggling too. I love Cunard and could have got a very cheap cruise, but it was Melbourne departure, definitely would not have happened if it was in Sydney. With Royal I want a smaller ship, no bigger than Voyager PLEASE or I am looking elsewhere.

Yes, flying to Brisbane from Port is great, but I still think flying to Sydney (for us) is easier. Your Carnival cruise sounds great, but we are going to cruise where are loyalty is for the moment, but it wonāt be on Ovation (after April). We are doing a short Celebrity cruise soon, but I still prefer longer cruises as long as I donāt get Covid.š·

Hi Chez, no problems but they canāt actually fill the ships! They wouldnāt be selling at the prices, if they could fill the ships. (Chez.. my opinion only). I could get a cruise out of Brisbane so much cheaper than Sydney, but most still prefer Sydney, hence most Ovation prices, generally are higher. I have one last cruise on Ovation shortly and then we are done until they give us better itineraries and smaller ships. About to try Celebrity again in a few weeks. I hope you both are ok. PS I think I might be having a bad dayš¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£

Sorry Chili, you are dreaming! Royal are having enough problems with the two ships in Australia now. Believe me, no way Melbourne. People want to cruise from Sydney. (/You can shoot me downš¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£) PS To Royal, please give us a smaller ship too. One that can actually get into some Ports.š

We have done the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo and it was very good! We havenāt done the roar and snore though. I think with luggage your plan for Uber/Taxi is the best option in both directions. With the Wildlife Retreat you canāt check in before a certain time, but the price includes entry to the Zoo.They will certainly store your bags, while you explore the Zoo and if a little tired, you can also relax in one of their lounges and enjoy the view with a drink. You have come all this way, so make it as easy as possible for yourselves. Certainly recommend the Wildlife Retreat though.

I had that car too! Our first cruise as a family (now) was on a Russian ship and I think it cost Ralph and I nearly $4,000 in 1989 and son was included free. Son had to sleep on the sofa and fell out of bed every night and ended on the floor. Now we require so much more and prices seem to be similar on some cruises. Was it the good old days.? To sureš¤£š¤£š¤£ -

Same here Chez. Our first cruise in the early 70ās was with my family. We went to Pago Pago, Tonga, Fiji, Noumea, Auckland on Orsova. Everyone thought we were the rich people. It was a 4 berth cabin, no bathroom, and all I saw was water from the port hole and my parents worked extra jobs to pay for it. We didnāt need a passport either. I did think some of these itineraries were interesting though. Good to think back! -

I canāt help with information unfortunately, but I did think some of the itineraries were extremely interesting. Anyone know where Palm Tree Island is ? -
Hi Chez, Canāt wait to hear about P&O. We were tempted, but finally went with a cheap Celebrity cruise. I have had some great P&O cruises many years ago, but definitely interested in your thoughts. I must say though a Comedy cruise doesnāt sound like me.

Sounds amazing! Enjoy your holiday.
