  1. Hi Chez, no problems but they can’t actually fill the ships! They wouldn’t be selling at the prices, if they could fill the ships. (Chez.. my opinion only). I could get a cruise out of Brisbane so much cheaper than Sydney, but most still prefer Sydney, hence most Ovation prices, generally are higher. I have one last cruise on Ovation shortly and then we are done until they give us better itineraries and smaller ships. About to try Celebrity again in a few weeks. I hope you both are ok. PS I think I might be having a bad day🤣🤣🤣🤣
  2. Sorry Chili, you are dreaming! Royal are having enough problems with the two ships in Australia now. Believe me, no way Melbourne. People want to cruise from Sydney. (/You can shoot me down🤣🤣🤣🤣) PS To Royal, please give us a smaller ship too. One that can actually get into some Ports.😁
  3. We have done the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo and it was very good! We haven’t done the roar and snore though. I think with luggage your plan for Uber/Taxi is the best option in both directions. With the Wildlife Retreat you can’t check in before a certain time, but the price includes entry to the Zoo.They will certainly store your bags, while you explore the Zoo and if a little tired, you can also relax in one of their lounges and enjoy the view with a drink. You have come all this way, so make it as easy as possible for yourselves. Certainly recommend the Wildlife Retreat though.
  4. I had that car too! Our first cruise as a family (now) was on a Russian ship and I think it cost Ralph and I nearly $4,000 in 1989 and son was included free. Son had to sleep on the sofa and fell out of bed every night and ended on the floor. Now we require so much more and prices seem to be similar on some cruises. Was it the good old days.? To sure🤣🤣🤣
  5. Same for us Chez. Can’t stay up past 10pm anymore.! I cannot believe that it was over 50 years ago for me!
  6. Same here Chez. Our first cruise in the early 70’s was with my family. We went to Pago Pago, Tonga, Fiji, Noumea, Auckland on Orsova. Everyone thought we were the rich people. It was a 4 berth cabin, no bathroom, and all I saw was water from the port hole and my parents worked extra jobs to pay for it. We didn’t need a passport either. I did think some of these itineraries were interesting though. Good to think back!
  7. Can’t be that one because it was in one of the itineraries!
  8. I can’t help with information unfortunately, but I did think some of the itineraries were extremely interesting. Anyone know where Palm Tree Island is ?
  9. Hi Chez, Can’t wait to hear about P&O. We were tempted, but finally went with a cheap Celebrity cruise. I have had some great P&O cruises many years ago, but definitely interested in your thoughts. I must say though a Comedy cruise doesn’t sound like me.
  10. Sounds amazing! Enjoy your holiday.
  11. 10th Eclipse, 5th April Ovation. See you then. PS Sorry for starting this thread too!
  12. Who would have thought that when I posted about Gbenjo back in December, this post would still be going🤣🤣🤣. A few little sidetracks though. Hope you do Celebrity Gbenjo, will see you in March to compare notes . Cheryle
  13. We booked a Concierge Guarantee last week and instantly got a cabin, and actually happy with the location. I did also book a guarantee some years ago, and like you we were getting quite frustrated that we wouldn’t get a cabin prior to leaving home. In the end we did get a cabin and it was a full suite. So waiting is not all bad, who knows you could end up in Aqua. Hope so for you!
  14. Chili. Please explain!! What has this got to do with my original post about the good deeds of Gbenjo?😩😩
  15. Well said Geoff. . Having got Covid on Majestic and being very, very sick and then missing another Majestic cruise. We were both super cautious on our 27 days on Ovation. We wore masks EVERYWHERE, and were not happy. It hasn’t stopped us from doing 2 more before cruise season finishes. In saying that we are still wearing masks when we go shopping. Everyone does things differently. PS I had a friend on our Majestic cruise, that didn’t wear a mask and ended up in intensive care. It also hasn’t stopped her from doing a circumnavigation shortly. Because of ages we have to do it!
  16. We only paid $20 more per person and are really happy with the location of our cabin. I guess that is what we paid for considering we booked a guarantee.
  17. Hope someone can help as it is a good question. Many Elite people here who can assist.
  18. No they have a problem with Mastercard only on some transactions
  19. Getting better all the time🤣 Thank you. Just have to buy a drink first night though😩😩
  20. Great advice and much appreciated.
  21. Thank you all for the clarification.
  22. Hi again, Can someone please explain how the Elite nightly drinks work now. I understand there is no dedicated lounge? Can we have drinks anywhere (including first night) at Restaurants and bars between 5-7? Any assistance appreciated.
  23. Yes, i will do the same as I have both coming up shortly. Thank you
  24. Thank you, so I use the Royal Caribbean email address? If so, I have found them to be helpful.
