  1. If staying for a week you should take a desert tour, there is MUCH more to Aruba than its beaches. Aroundaruba.com does private off road tours. We will also be in Aruba for 11 days in Oct and we will have a big orange jeep, you'll probably see us[emoji41]

  2. It's very private, only 18 suites have access to the Haven compared to the 90 on the BA and out of the 18 you won't see the peeps in the GV's or DOS's, occasionally the 4 OS's will use it but you pretty much share it with the 10 suites that surround it. There is also a private sun deck on 15.

As for the concierge, she is always in Moderno's when they have the suite breakfast and lunch, she can be a PITA like the camera guy, as she goes table to table but she's just a call away if you need her.

As for a smoking area, I would guess you just ask the courtyard valet and he will set you up with an ashtray downwind but I'm just guessing.

The closest bar is the Mojito Bar located in Moderno's and Topsiders on 13 by the pools, a private staircase takes you down to 13 and exits between Cagney's and Moderno's.

  3. The butlers rotate, the butler you have may have been doing the Haven the week before. A slacker butler will get weeded out very fast. If you need something use your phone and call him, don't assume like a lot of these other people that you should see the butler all the time, when he has no orders he is not hanging out in the hallway, so use your phone.

  4. First night on epic our

Luggage wasn't in room yet so I wore black dressy capris with a pretty shimmery blouse and jeweled sandles. They wouldn't let

me in the dining room. And there has always been a rule thar first night anything goes as not everybody has their luggage yet. We ended up eating at the bar.

They always waved the dress code the first night but it was one of those unwritten things, maybe they changed that or you should have pushed it.

  5. Has anyone used Melina Charters for bottom fishing?

Did you go bottom fishing? I did talk with the captain of the Driftwood charter boat and asked him if they bottom fished and he said it was to rough in Aruba to bottom fish on his boat but this was two years ago.

Pearl Deluxe Owner's Suite H2, any questions?

A lot of good info and pictures in those threads. Seriously you should consider canceling the spa and use the money towards tips. You have two stewards a butler and concierge. You'll find that the only time to leave the suite would be for a show, to eat and get off at a port but it's hurry up and let's get back to the H2.

  7. We were in 15000 on the Pearl for a 11day Caribbean it's pretty nice, I wouldn't do it with more than two but in your case the price was right. What do you want to know?

Can you please tell me about haven pool area. Being us going to Alaska, my dd wants to know if she'll able to use the pool. Is it enclosed or open? Also, did you have butler set up any meals for you in your cabin? We have thermal spa pre payed. Do you think between the ports, our own balcony and haven, we will have time to use it? Should I cancel it? Thank you

When we had the H2 we didn't use the Haven at all. We spent most of the time on our private deck. The Haven has a retractable roof and they open and close it based on weather conditions. The pool is very small and on another time we didn't have the H2 I did go in it and the water was very cold, it could be heated but it wasn't on our cruise. As for the spa, that is up to you but it would have been a waste of our money as we spent the time on our deck. We did have some meals delivered, dinner on nights we were tired and light breakfast on port days. There is only a table for two inside and a table for four outside. If you click on my profile and look for threads I started you will see some pictures and questions I had prior to our H2 cruise. Bring an iPod and CDs. It is the best suite NCL has beside the GV's and only four of them fleet wide.

The hot tub is really an outdoor jacuzzi, as you fill it each time you want to use it. The Bose system blasts tunes outside so you can hear it over the jacuzzi motor. You get the feeling that the bands are playing for you as they always wave when they see you. The views should be amazing from there for an Alaskan cruise.

  9. Just to confirm that you're able to buy bottles of wine at the port stops and then pay the corkage.

We are told originally by the NCL customer services on the phone that it could only be done at embarkation, for us at Barcelona - however at the ports we found otherwise during our cruise on the Epic this week.

Watch out for what the NCL reps tell you, you can ask 5 different reps the same question and get 5 different answers.

The new wording as of July 16 is only on embarkation day you can pay a corkage fee and bring on wine. Sounds like the new policy is they will hold any wine purchased at ports until the last night of the cruise.
