  1. We are planning a trip on the Origin. Not all cabins are available. Standard Veranda Suite. Two on deck 5 in front OR a few in the back near the beauty salon. Is the front too much movement? Is here much foot traffic near the exercise room and salon in the back? Any suggestions or comment is appreciated. Ready to book so looking for a quick response. Thanks.

  3. Cooking space and classes would be great. That way I could replicate the chicken salad at tastes. We think the dressing is different than previous cruises though. Love cooking classes!

    Forward Cabins

    We are in 10021 currently. No worries for us but we do not get seasick. The is a lot of wind and higher waves. We have been forward before and do not have issues. The $$ is considerable. Try for the cabin least forward.
  5. Well I just saw this. We booked a 1:40 flight. Hoping it all goes well. If we leave the ship at 7:30. Assuming a 3 hour ride we would arrive at 10:30. 3 hours ahead. Fingers crossed it all goes as planned. Would have booked a later flight but there was not one.
  6. BTW it was not a credit card problem. It was travel insurance purchased through my TA who recommended I purchase at a Hefty price to insure my vouchers (currently attached to a 5/2022 sailing) that were originally issued when I was issued them for a 3/2020 cruise cancelation. Long story in-between but a 5/2022 cruise was cancelled due to bankruptsy. The insurance company would NOT reimburse me unless I proved I did not receive a cash back....even though the initial payment was made in 10/2019...2.5 years prior.. Kinda like "we will pay you if you go to moon and bring fairy dust back and sprinkle it around." Try and find someone on the end of a CC company phone who will help with a system that has deleted that info. Along with an insurance company who would not address my concerns directly....only through route texts and call centers. A nightmare. I know this is a highly unusual situation but it definitely happened. I am still in the midst of getting a payment..
  7. Yes. PTSD...I'll just have to have good hopes. We will be on the 1/5/24 Carribean on Serenity so hopefully that will alleviate bad vibes.. I am unfamiliar with the acronym (if it is one) YMMV?
  8. That is all well and good but not exactly helping with the trepidation. I was tweaking around the internet and there was some talk about knowing Crystal was not paying cancellations promptly, etc. prior to bankruptcy. I did not know about that so I'm concerned I may not know if the new launch, is less than successful. I do not want to be left holding the bag again. The hassle of dealing with credit card and insurance companies while sitting at home instead of enjoying the cruise I had planned and was looking forward to! We were on the last Bahamas sailing that ended in Bimini and had that additional bit of insurance to deal with also with changed flights and extra hotel rooms needed, etc. Two affected sailings. Guess I am having a bit of buyers remorse. Hoping for the best though.
  9. Just made a deposit for a 9/24 sailing. Kinda nervous about it. We had substantial losses from the Gentling demise and had a credit to use. The saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". Hope Crystal is here to stay. Otherwise, another go round with the insurance company which was NOT a good experience and is still not completed. What does anyone else think? Was I foolish to take the plunge?

  12. I have to find out if the cruise I booked is vulnerable to not receiving the payment? If I get reimbursed before the cruise sails but after I made all the payments? If I make a payment now for a 2025 cruise can they take back my payment IF I get reimbursed between now and then? I have a substantial amount and I would possibly go on another cruise line If I cannot count on the discount. Especially since they are just starting up getting those affected negatively onboard again!
  13. I'm not sure if I am reading it right. Are these refundable to Crystal if you finally get payment from insurance, credit card, etc? Did they change the parameters? Looks like you have to have them check every cruise you book to make sure you are still owed? I thought it was given to us and to be used whenever because off the bankruptcy. Does anyone know which one it is?
