I’m on that Rotterdam 10/3 cruise, too. I don’t know what to think. The Rotterdam is still in the Bahamas. Will ports be open? Cruising seems in jeopardy until there is a vaccine? Alice
We are on the 14 day on 10/3. Final is still 7/5/20 I believe. 60 days before for final is for sailings prior to 9/30/20. Our problem now is that American has cancelled our return flight from bcn to mia. Only alternative is Norwegian bcn to fll. Not sure if there will still be hear in October. Not sure I want to do a connection. Add to that the 60 to 90 days to get a refund, we might cancel before final. Have about two months to decide.

There were some really good deals after the Costa Condordia sank off Italy. I think it was the Concordia.

Watching the interview with Arnold Donald, he stated that they have enough cash for the worst case scenario which is no cruises until 2021. If they have enough cash until the end of the year, surely he took into consideration the refunds due to customers. Seems like testing and vaccines for Covid 19 are moving quicker than anticipated. If cruises start to slowly move over the summer, hopefully things will get back to maybe close to normal. I do thing cruising will be slightly different that before. I cancelled a Seabourn cruise last summer, when none of this was happening, and it was a full six weeks before I got the refund. That was under normal circumstances.

I am just curious as to the order of the refunds. Are they chronological, or is there any difference as to whether Seabourn cancelled or the customer cancelled.
-
My TA stated it would be 60 to 90 days. I have another final due for a cruise in October that only has a small deposit on it. If I don't receive my refund by then, it is highly doubtful I would make another final payment. Will just cancel the October if I don't get the first refund.
-
So, if you cancel before later final payment, you may have to pony up the 50% cancellations fee? It is confusing.

Just received and email from HAL about a gift card bonus. Buy $500 get $100 bonus. Buy $1000 get $200 bonus. 20% return on your money. Better that a CD right now.

It states specifically that the FCC cannot be used for deposits. It will be applied after the deposit is made.

It was a good interview. He was humble and to me handled the questions gracefully.

Just watched the interview with Arnold Donald. My takeaways.
No sailings until social gatherings are safe.
Enough cash to not sail until the end of the year.
2021 bookings are good.
Watching that interview, I really had a lot of sympathy for him. What a time to be a CEO of a cruise industry.

Tough one. We cancelled our July, but haven't cancelled our October. Both 2020. Will wait and see. Won't make final if there is any doubt. Only have a $100 pp deposit. I would not hesitate to put a deposit on 2021. If we don't figure it out by then, it over. Plus if you book for 2021, it gives HAL cash to give refunds from the beginning of the year cruises that were cancelled.

Curious what this means for our refunds.

I said in a previous post and I will say again, these new requirements may be the straw that breaks the camels back.
The Saudis made the investment with the assumption of a zero sail until November. Best case was 25% restart over the summer.
-
So now, all of those refunds will be behind the first wave who were told 60 to 90 days for a refund. May , June, and July people who have made final payments might be waiting 4 to 6 months for a refund. With no revenue coming in, it should be interesting. Hope the Saudis have more money to give. Not sure where this is going to end. Really sad.
-
The Saudis invested in CCL with the assumption of a zero sail until November. They also said it is possible that 25% could possibly start sailing over the summer. This was the optimistic assumption.
-
The Saudis bought 8% state in CCL with the assumption that sailings would not start until November. However they think some around 25% would start during the summer. 100 days puts you in the middle of the summer. Maybe by the August September time frame things will start to sail.

Just wanted to check before I did it.
Thanks

I have a booking in October that I made through a TA. I am able to browse flights to do research. Are you able to add a flight to your cruise on your own, or will it not work due to the TA. When I select a flight, it looks like I can make the booking.

I thought about waiting until Seabourn cancels, but what if they do go, since they have smaller ships and less problems and alter the itinerary. Mostly Spain and Italy. Even if it goes, are all those ports going to be open? Who knows. 2021 has a similar itinerary in July , August, and September. Would rather go then. No promos yet on any 2021 cruises.

When did you cancel and had the FCC shown up since your cancellation. I know what my FCC will be as it will be the penalty identified on the invoice I received on March 23 but, so far have not seen the FCC.
Can't be sure but, think Westport is the same as mine. I was at the 12% cancellation point when I cancelled my 7/25 cruise which I expect to be cancelled but, not yet. The 12% converts to FCC because the cruise has not been cancelled and the balance of the deposit should be refunded to my credit card
It's the 12%. Around $1900. I only cancelled last Friday. Remaining refund in 60 to 90 days.

Glad to help and would not hold my breath with the two weeks posted as it actually says approximately two weeks and in our case it has now been 16 days. Interestingly when we cancelled we go a Seabourn Invoice the same day with our 12% penalty that is supposed to be converted to FCC but, no communications since and at least in our case all of the numbers are in their system so should be able to provide our refund and FCC extremely quickly but???
Our TA got quoted 30 days for our refund and not holding my breath about that either.
We cancelled our 7/18 on the Encore and also got the FCC for the small nonrefundable amount. We had great Business Class from MIA to BCN also. Funny, four days after we cancelled our cruise, American cancelled the MIA to BCN route until the end of October. Not really interested in doing connections at this stage of my life, so I guess it worked out for the best.

Asked my TA the exact same question and he confirmed exactly what you said.
Good to know this. Just have to wait until they apply it to my club number. Website says two weeks to apply.

Another FCC question. The details state when you use your FCC, you will not receive any of the current promotions. So, if you use it on a future cruise you pay the published fare with no perks. Is that correct.

I see where RCL ceo Fain is not taking his salary until 9/30 , and most execs are cutting their pay 25%. Have not seen ant info on ccl doing the same.
Sensational Suite Savings for 2021
in Seabourn Cruise Line
Posted
Looks like Seabourn is in the process of applying Sensational Suite Savings to 2021 cruises through November. I checked my same cruise that I cancelled for 2021 and the deposit dropped from $5000 to $2000. If I get my refund, I would gladly rebook with the smaller deposit for 2021. Not until I get my refund though. It has only been three weeks since I cancelled. I guess I will have a long wait.
