  1. dep amts have gone up, which finally forced us into NRD territory.. and even now that is a steep.deposit . Hope you get answers fron your ta.. and maybe they can give u a more detailed invoice like Celeb does??? Those have codes too but are usually able to be figured out..
  2. outstanding photo..perfect timing! so what was good to shop for?
  3. most won't, but suit yourself seems to be the way things have devolved
  4. Thanks looks like a great area. esp with the aviary. That would be enough for me..esp in the heat+
  5. TA should have gone over all the codes and pricing. That's the TAs job...then you can confirm on your cruise planner! one code that is clear and repeated is NRD..How much was your NRD deposit?
  6. Never saw one set up for 4..Just a bed for 2 of us, plus a very uncomfortable hard sofa..close to the floor it does not open to a bed! . Sofa is either by bthrm end or the IV end..We have had both. and prefer the bed by the bath, but makes closet access tight! When it was set up for us in AQ with bed by the IV.. we had to keep the bi-folds open, and dh would have to step onto IV floor get out of the bed on his IV side. These are long narrow cabins.. manageable for 2. Maybe a SV would have more room! Or just get 2 cabins for comfort!
  7. did you do a tour or just on your own in Cartagena,?
  8. . they are much nicer areas.. and no round bar that cuts the area in half!
  9. we have..but not recently! but why have rules and procedure ic X and its customers ignore them?
  10. typical Fla lanai..not mine!
  11. Our lanai in Florida is a screened patio with roof, ceiling fan..access to the backyard... & no windows, just sun shades . Room for a lounger, 2 chairs, small coffee tbl, and a small round dining table with 2 chairs.. Lots of plants! Access is a triple slider from inside...no bifolds. Nothing much like the tiny Inf Balc... We see the IV as a " wintergarden" room.. with interior style floor, walls on 2 sides and a large operable half height window.. We like it as it adds more area to the long narrow cabin..and good light..It is less windy than being out on a a true balc.. We face the chairs and table inward. The name chosen by X for this cabin style was an unfortunate misnomer. They should rename it to avoid confusion.
  12. interesting..I think we would have heard about that. . We have been there so many times.. They are very big on the drug sniffing dogs!
  13. in Cozumel..which we enjoy...we were treated to a gun display pointed at cruisers returning from the port..but we were not the targets..Scary regardess. .We and others were permitted past the check point to go to the ship but held in the hot sun en masse by Mex soldiers/ police and not able to make that rt turn to the ship for quite awhile..... Seems there was some issue with the ferry passengers...but we were the ones held...they had big guns and bullet belts so not our place to argue! Glad Labadee is taken off itins.. What is Grand Turk like?
  14. we have enjoyed Raw on 5 for dinner on BEYOND and lunch on ASCENT It has a great menu including beef and some nice cocktails. My husb tried a roll on ASCENT .1st time and loved it. fine cut was excellent..but it is a steakhouse not unique like EDEN
  15. Hilo was one of our ports.. and going to VNP was one of the best parts of our trip! It was anazing! What we recall of Lahaina was some very old stores, and a dirty public bathroom in a sketchy small park area .l.We took a nice whale watching excursion. Did not see any whales and not much else. Sadly, we heard that the wooden boat burned some time later..way before the recent fires. cruising can be an adventure..no guarantees!
  16. been quite awhile since we did a similar itin but would not do COLON on your own tour..wgen we were ghre it was a slum with not much there to enjoy! Things may have changed of course.
  17. O P what has been your experience with other cruise lines on this type of issue? ( I don't see many prior posts by you here on CC...)
  18. We book the cruises we want.. (dates, itin, & ship) as early as we can..with the best deal we find. We pick our rm..do not change, do not bid to move up or chase reductions. Usually, we are way ahead in pricing from those who book later. We buy insurance just in case it's needed. Prices can go up or down..some will get a last minute bargain..we did once! But I see no injustice here. Sad for losing a port ( Lahaina) but that was not our fav anyhow. If OP is very unhappy..maybe cancel, take the penalty and start fresh..and figure out something for air
  19. Very nice photo! Is your mom enjoying the cruise?
  20. I like to look..but seeing all those plated carbs makes me nervous.. I follow a carb limited meal plan for health needs, but of course with some cheats along the way .... That's why I was asking about places to walk and the gym.
  21. On Ascent we liked the menu and food at Fine Cut but it's a steakhouse menu.. Our favorite was EDEN by far ..! I'd swap Fine Cut for EDEN..Great food and service but cutting edge too. Have not eaten at either of your 2 choices..but on ASCENT Le Voyage was inside..looked very posh! Dinner on the EDGE is out on the Maguc Carpet so it could be breezy out there even in port ..Not sure of the Menus but D ON E might offer fewer choices??? Hope others fill in the blanks. Enjoy!
