  1. Have Celebrity tell you what you're paying for your airfare thru them.

Then, go to the airlines website and check the pricing on the same flights. Then, once a week (Monday or Tuesdays) check the same flights again. If the price has dropped, then there's a good chance they've dropped thru Celebrity.

We followed this and ended up saving $374 before making final payment.

I personally would not mess with anyone else. I spent hours trying to find someone that would help us & do the tests quickly. I am using the location across from the Galleria in Ft. Lauderdale. I also believe they are open Saturdays but don't quote me on that one. Diana is wonderful and will do all she can to help us travelers

    Kathy

    Hi Kathy,

I’ve spoken with Diana too. She’s very nice and very helpful. My question for you, which location is closest to Lago Mar? I was thinking the one on Federal Way but wanted to make sure before we book. Thanks for your help and thanks for researching for us.

You will have to download the NAVICA app and create an account prior to the test session.  In our case my husband and I needed testing prior to embarkation, and we each needed separate e-mail addresses.

Did you place it in your carry on or checked luggage?

We did the proctored tests today at our hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The results were sent to our separate email accounts. We will be showing the results from our iPhones.

Thanks C-Dragons. We thought we needed a printed copy also. This makes it easier for us if we don't. Whew.

Yes, just order the test and then do it when you like.

You don't need the Navica app, but you will need an account. Scanning the QR code will get you there, or you can set it up ahead of time. Results are emailed in a form suitable for printing. The app is handy only to have something you can pull up on your phone.

I assume the test results are sent to our email address. Do we just show that at the port or do they need a printed version of results? We will be testing at our hotel in FLL so won’t have a printer.

I highly advise getting the eMed (proctored) tests to take at home either as your primary choice or backup.  They are very easy to do.

You can order packs of 2 or 3 at https://store.optum.com/celebrity-cruises/ or you can order a 6-pack from emed.com

Do we order this test and then create an account before taking the test? Do we have to download an app to our phones or iPads? Thank you

  7. We will be staying at Lago Mar prior to our cruise. We fly all day Thursday so will be forced to do a Celebrity emed Covid test on Friday in our room.

How reliable is their internet? Speed good? Not a lot of drops?

We also have TMobile on our iPads so could use that if the reception in Fort Lauderdale is great and the internet is bad.

Appreciate your help. Us old folks are very nervous about having to do this test.

    Thank you

The test is acceptable, but be careful.  Walgreens and CVS have been known fairly frequently here for cancelling appointments due to lack of supplies.  Be sure you have a backup plan.

Are you talking about Walgreens and CVS there in FLL? We have to be tested on Friday for our cruise because we will be traveling all day on Thursday. Trying to find good places to be tested at. Preferably nearest Lago Mar, we will be staying there. We are also ordering the test from Celebrity as a backup plan.

    Thanks

Lago Mar (https://lagomar.com) has been around Fort Lauderdale for a long time (at least 50 years), and is owned/operated by a local family. It’s absolutely beach-front, with mid-rise buildings (rooms overlooking the big pool also have views of the ocean).

The resort is family-friendly, with put-put golf, play areas, etc.

Getting there is not hard. It’s maybe 3 minutes from Pier 66, accessible through the neighborhood across 17th street from Pier 66.

There are no restaurants, other than what is at Lago, that are just around the corner, but there are several places to eat on property. They do a good job with salads, especially outside.

Historically, Lago Mar has catered to a seasonal and largely European clientele. They also have a beach club for locals which entitled them to access the beach and pool.

It’s quiet at night- no clubs.

You can take a bottle of wine down to the beach in the evening and enjoy.

    Thank you

    2. they do drive up usually no wait so I guess you could go in a cab

    3. they also make appointments

    4. results in 30 minutes.

    5. all great reviews I looked them up as well

    6. Cost is $85 will not take insurance will give receipt for you to file with your carrier

    7. Name of company is Synergy DX. I called them very very nice .

I am going to use them In there Ft. Lauderdale location

Good luck with the testing for everyone

    Kathy

We will be flying all day Thursday. So we plan to test on Friday.

staying at Lago Mar. what places for the rapid test are closest to that resort that

the Celebrity cruise will accept for boarding?

or should we just go to a place that will be easier to get in to?

    Thank you

If you stay at Lago Mar, its a short walk down the beach to the jetties where you’ll be less than 200 feet from the ships as they enter and leave port Everglades.

Lago Mar (not to be confused with Mar a Lago) is a moderate-sizee, family-owned hotel. No sports bar, but it is directly on thr beach.

We were thinking of booking this resort. Planning 2 days in FLL before our cruise. Please tell me more about this resort. Thank you so much.

Would love to see the reasoning behind this request for the e mail of the CEO.  She certainly doesn't read any of these inbound communications

efforts may be better spent on finding the right department at X to address the issue

tfred, you are incorrect. I sent her a note to praise the excellent customer service we received on a past cruise and she called us to say thank you for our email. We then received a couple Celebrity hats in the mail from her. Yes, the hats were sent from her assistant but it was her that called us. We spoke for almost a half an hour. So she does read her emails and respond to them. Just not all of them.
