The test is acceptable, but be careful.  Walgreens and CVS have been known fairly frequently here for cancelling appointments due to lack of supplies.  Be sure you have a backup plan.

Are you talking about Walgreens and CVS there in FLL? We have to be tested on Friday for our cruise because we will be traveling all day on Thursday. Trying to find good places to be tested at. Preferably nearest Lago Mar, we will be staying there. We are also ordering the test from Celebrity as a backup plan.

    Thanks

Lago Mar (https://lagomar.com) has been around Fort Lauderdale for a long time (at least 50 years), and is owned/operated by a local family. It’s absolutely beach-front, with mid-rise buildings (rooms overlooking the big pool also have views of the ocean).

The resort is family-friendly, with put-put golf, play areas, etc.

Getting there is not hard. It’s maybe 3 minutes from Pier 66, accessible through the neighborhood across 17th street from Pier 66.

There are no restaurants, other than what is at Lago, that are just around the corner, but there are several places to eat on property. They do a good job with salads, especially outside.

Historically, Lago Mar has catered to a seasonal and largely European clientele. They also have a beach club for locals which entitled them to access the beach and pool.

It’s quiet at night- no clubs.

You can take a bottle of wine down to the beach in the evening and enjoy.

    Thank you

    3. they also make appointments

    4. results in 30 minutes.

    5. all great reviews I looked them up as well

    6. Cost is $85 will not take insurance will give receipt for you to file with your carrier

    7. Name of company is Synergy DX. I called them very very nice .

I am going to use them In there Ft. Lauderdale location

Good luck with the testing for everyone

    Kathy

We will be flying all day Thursday. So we plan to test on Friday.

staying at Lago Mar. what places for the rapid test are closest to that resort that

the Celebrity cruise will accept for boarding?

or should we just go to a place that will be easier to get in to?

    Thank you

If you stay at Lago Mar, its a short walk down the beach to the jetties where you’ll be less than 200 feet from the ships as they enter and leave port Everglades.

Lago Mar (not to be confused with Mar a Lago) is a moderate-sizee, family-owned hotel. No sports bar, but it is directly on thr beach.

We were thinking of booking this resort. Planning 2 days in FLL before our cruise. Please tell me more about this resort. Thank you so much.

Would love to see the reasoning behind this request for the e mail of the CEO.  She certainly doesn't read any of these inbound communications

efforts may be better spent on finding the right department at X to address the issue

tfred, you are incorrect. I sent her a note to praise the excellent customer service we received on a past cruise and she called us to say thank you for our email. We then received a couple Celebrity hats in the mail from her. Yes, the hats were sent from her assistant but it was her that called us. We spoke for almost a half an hour. So she does read her emails and respond to them. Just not all of them.

  6. We live in Boise and been having trouble finding a place to get tested. No one does the quick test for us here. Nearest Walgreens that would do the test is in Walla Walla. 4 hours away.

CVS says they don't do it and neither does AFS. So looks like we may have to do this Celebrity test.

How does it work anyway? I see we connect with them on video but how do they get the sample from us? Theres just the 2 of us old farts. Should we buy more than one test just in case there's a problem with first test?

Our final payment is due soon and are so nervous that we won't be able to find a place to do the test before our flight.

    Thank you for your help

Celebrity offers this check-in advice (note they indicate you need to be checked in no later than 60 minutes prior to scheduled sailing time - earlier seems highly recommended above)

When can I check-in for my cruise?

The health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities in which we operate are our top priority. We are guided by the recommendations of our Healthy Sail Panel and the requirements of countries where we sail. We will provide clear communication about what you need to know for your cruise in advance of your sail date, including check in dates, health and safety information, app notifications and the shore excursions available for your cruise. Our cruise check-in window opens closer to your sailing date, which differs from our traditional check-in timeline.

When it’s time to check in, we recommend you use the Celebrity Cruises app to check in all guests on your reservation. The app provides a quick and easy check-in process so you can start your vacation sooner. Updates include:

    • Your arrival time at the terminal - a scheduled arrival time at the terminal on your sail date

    • The required Health Questionnaire – only available in advance in the app

    • Our reimagined Guest Safety Briefing - Simply tap the Safety icon on the homepage to launch the Safety Briefing, whether you’re in the terminal or you’ve just stepped onboard, to complete the first steps of the Safety Briefing before heading to your assigned Assembly Station. Remember all guests must complete the Safety Briefing before the ship can sail.

    · Extended app check in window - Check in using the app until 8am the morning of your sailing

As before, guests may also check in using our website up to 48 hours before sailing. Guests must complete check in, however, using the app or at the terminal. We highly recommend completing check in using the app for the easiest, fastest, and complete check-in experience.

    • Celebrity Cruises requires guests to be checked in no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time. Guests arriving late will not be permitted to sail.

    •  When you check-in at the terminal, show your Xpress Pass in the app to the terminal agent to scan and complete the check-in process.

Regarding the app and check in, does each guests need to have the app on their phones? Each required to fill out the questionnaire? What about guests who don't have a cell phone? Yep, that's right. My elderly mother won't carry one. I assume she'll be able to check in at the terminal. Thank you.

    Pooh and Tigger,

Your advice rocked. I sent her an e-mail about 45 minutes ago. Laid it all out in bullet points and about 10 minutes ago, her Executive Assistant called me and said she was taking care of it and would be calling me back later to find out what the outcome was with Celebrity Air. She said Lisa had read the e-mail and wanted to apologize for the treatment. I have to say if this works out, I am truly impressed.

Thanks again for great advice and the e-mail address.

I will come back after we have this settled and tell you the final outcome.

    Jim

And it always helps to keep it short and to the point. I’m so happy I was able to help you.

Glad it worked out Jim. I knew it would. Lisa is one of the best. Hope you’re surviving the heat.

We have stayed at this hotel several times.  It is fine for a night pre-cruise.  It is clean and the staff has always been great.  We book through Valuetrips.com because they have discounts for this hotel.

It is a short ride, perhaps a mile or two at the most, from the port.

You talking about the same one? I looked at Valuetrips and they listed the one on 10th and this one is at 91 Southwest 18th Avenue, Dania Beach, Florida, United States, 33004

    Thank you

Most people would say not to buy the cruise line insurance because the coverage limits for medical and evacuation are comparatively low, usually in the $20,000 range. This coverage is secondary, which means that you file with you regular (primary) insurance first. The travel policy pays any left over expenses such as deductible or co-pays so it will go further than you might think at first.

There are a couple of advantages. The first is the cost to purchase as you age. Third-party insurance considers age in calculating the premium so it becomes more expensive. Another is the cancel-for-any-reason benefit. Third-party insurance treats it as an add-on, thus you pay more for perhaps 75% reimbursement. The cruise line insurance offers future cruise credits so you have to weigh what is more important to you.

Bankruptcy of the cruise line is not really a consideration in whether your claim will be paid. It is simply a cruise line branded product sold as a convenience, and yes a profit maker, by the cruise line. It is underwritten by an insurance company such as Nationwide and administered by a few companies that exist for that purpose. The insurance company is not going out of business if the cruise line fails.

There is a lot to consider in buying insurance, and COVID has added another level of complexity. Determine what expenses are most important for you to have covered and compare policies. Get help from someone like Steve at The Trip Insurance Store if you get bogged down, but don’t dismiss cruise line insurance out of hand. It can be a reasonable choice in some instances.

Excellent explanation. Thank you very much

Many people will report on various travel insurances.  I learned on my very first cruise how valuable travel insurance is.  I fractured my left foot in the very first port we visited !   My recommendation:  do not purchase insurance via the cruise line.

Personally,  Allianz is always my choice.  Great pricing for the level of coverage you want and great customer service when you need it!

Why do you say not to buy from the cruise line? Please explain. Thank you
