It's gonna be cleaning chemicals that you will smell everywhere on the ship!

I made the decision to not give any money to the cruise lines until they are up and running, and they can prove that the ship and it's passengers won't be quarantined again. I have only done about 35 cruises, and I love them as much as the next person but I'm not giving the cruise lines money for something that is still so uncertain!

Second leg B2B Rhapsody out of Tampa 2/22/20.
Feels like a life time ago. 😮
I was on that ship the week of the 29th. I think they shut it down one week later.

How many cruises have you had booked at any one time?

So sorry for your loss Bill. Me and my fiancé have met so many great people throughout the years of cruising, and it has been tough in many ways because of this covid thing, as you all know! Hopefully one day cruises will return and we can meet more wonderful people and have more good times! Stay safe and healthy everyone.

What are the chances of any ships sailing this summer? It's sad to think of cruising this way, but do we see anything that is leading us to believe that cruises will return any time soon? I quit letting them hold any of my money until things get back underway.

They keep sending me free cruises, except port taxes and fees, but why even let them hold that? Prove something to me Royal and then I will send you some funds, but I'm not giving you money in hopes of a cruise! Been through that crap once and not doing it again!

I wouldn't even mind a 3 day cruise to nowhere!

I am a loyal fan of Royal but I have also been on several Disney cruises. Took my entire family with me on the Disney Dream for my retirement party. Food and service are superb. Shows are all Disney and they are very good. My only drawback was no casino, but that's ok. Not something I have to include. I like the newer Disney ships much better than the older ships. If and when things ever get back to normal I will book another cruise. I'm just not letting any cruise line hold my money right now with all of the uncertainties!

If Royal starts back up Florida sailings this summer where will the ships be allowed to stop at besides the private island and maybe Nassau? Still so many unknowns! I am ready to get back to relaxing vacations, just not with a mask on all day. If that is mandatory I will just enjoy ready everyones posts about what it was like for them.

Gonna book the Mardi Gras when things get back to normal. I just don't feel like giving the cruise industry money right now with all of the unknowns!

Good for you if you get it and it works but there will not be enough in circulation until mid year to turn the tide and I don’t think they are going to prioritize cruise passengers. Remember there is a whole world out that needs it. That’s a lot of demand and prioritization.
Two shots are required along with special storage.
I hope it's not like the shingles vaccine. It made me sick for 3 days!

Sorry to hear that you caught Covid19 Pat.
Did Bucky catch it too?.
I hope you and your sister are fully recovered now and have acquired an Immunity to covid19.
I was also on the Rhapsody the last week of Feb. I never had a fever but had a terrible chest cold that lasted for two months after. My doctor wouldn't test me for covid because I didn't have a fever, but I'm betting I had it!

Looks like Nassau will be closed until at least December 1. Was on the phone with the Atlantis and they are still not allowed to open.
-
I wonder how they will fly you home if you test positive? airlines won't let you board so you are gonna be stuck someplace until you test negative. Good Blog though.

Spoke to a rep at the Atlantis yesterday and he said they are hoping to open the end of December but it all depends on what the Bahamian government tells them. I have been trying to get a refund for a cancelled wedding stay due to the hotel being closed.
-
Right now we are all only speculating! We each know what we hope will be open but until they are up and running and they try a few things, it will all be just a guess! I have several dates for comped cruises for next year, but I'm not even paying the port tax on those until They are up and running for a while. If I miss out on the freebie dates, oh well!
-
I'm not gonna book any of my free offers until the ships start sailing for a while and they iron things out!

In my opinion they shouldn't have made any offers until the no sail order ended and cruising resumed.
Agree 100%

I think they will greatly reduce the ports of call and do many more sea days just to keep the revenue coming. People are so hungry to cruise, and keeping them onboard and spending that money may be the best thing for the company. Cruises to nowhere aren't bad if you just want to relax!

I went to a Captain's information seminar once while on the Harmony and he said they look at the information for things like what country and how many of what age group will be onboard in two weeks and that is how they determine what to order. They also keep track of how many are getting back on the ship at any given time while in a port to determine when to cook more food for different venue's on the ship.

I wish someone had a crystal ball that actually works! Right now we are all still just guessing!

Sadly I do this too!!! Lord we miss it so! Even watching old Cruise vlogs on Youtube!
I wish I was on another cruise. I have done 35 but just not sure about doing #36 and wearing a mask all day on the ship!
Will you Cruise from Nassau on Adventure?

The airport in Nassau will be a madhouse. I don't see them being prepared for an influx of flights and cruise passengers!
