Is that a recent change? We live in Florida, have annual passes, and have had as many as 6 reservations pending at one time. A couple of those are tied to a weekend we are spending at Disney next month. Maybe it makes a difference if you are staying in a Disney hotel?

I too am a Florida resident and when I log into my disney experience it will only allow me three reservations for entrance to a park at one time. As soon as I use one another will be available. I don't even know how many years we have been annual pass holders. being a Florida native I can't tell you how many times we have been but it's the finances deal. Once a year would be more than enough for me!

  2. I was at Disney World two weeks ago and it is like a ghost town. Yes, there are guests, but everyone is so far apart. Most eateries are closed and staff everywhere wiping and reminding anyone that drops mask below their nose. It is so much different than in the past. When you park, you have to walk all of the way up to the monorails because the trams are not running. I will say wearing a mask in Florida heat is not a fun thing, and I can't see it being fun on a ship either!

Accepting the necessity for more time to process passengers (boarding and de barking) and to clean the ship,  it is hard to see how slowing debarking by four or five hours (from  6:00 to 10:00 - 11:00 AM). would only delay sail away by two hours or so.  I would think a four hour morning delay - plus an hour or so for extra cleaning time - would delay sail-away until closer to midnight.

And that is very possible, but since we don't know how long until all of the cruise lines start operating, everything is just a guess. Let's just hope they can all survive financially.

Except that they CAN!  Just as stores can force people to wear masks while inside, so can cruise ships.  Cruise ships are a private entity and can enforce whatever rules they want in order to allow you to remain on board.  If you don't follow the rules as laid out in the cruise contract you can certainly be sequestered to your room or disembarked at the first opportunity.

I for one will wear a mask if I am on a cruise but the others not abiding is what will be frustrating!

The Captain rules the ship, it is not a democracy...

  5. I can say I live in paradise. 15 minutes to Siesta Beach in Sarasota Florida. Bought an Alexa for dad and mom. Both elderly and on lockdown in an ALF 40 minutes from me. Hard knowing they can't leave their room and go downstairs, but that's the best way for the facility to stay cove free. My mom always says all I want is a hug. I go online almost every day and look at YouTube videos of cruises and then I go look at prices, but then I tell myself I'm not giving them any money until they are up and running and things are working out.

    Happy Cruising everyone!   Someday

  6. I love to cruise and being a Florida native it has made it almost too easy to catch a weekend cruise or a 7 day cruise. I'm 35 minutes from port Tampa and 3 hours from anywhere else in Florida. I'm gonna give it some time after the ships start sailing again so they can work the bugs out.

  7. I wouldn't invest any money into the unknown. Too many problems with the cruise industry and with the different countries at this point. We have family that couldn't get back the 7k they spent for a honeymoon cruise because their cruise was cancelled because of covid so the cruise line said why not sail this date instead. Well the cruise line cancelled that also and since they didn't ask for a refund on the initial cruise they were not going to get a refund on the 2nd. They have a credit but have no idea when they will be able to use it. Just be prepared!

  8. We were on the Ovation out of Seattle in July of 2019, and the first night she was rocking and rolling, but that can happen on any ship in any body of water. We love the bigger ships and really enjoyed the Ovation. Only bad part of our vacation was flying from Tampa to Seattle! We have been on a bunch of the smaller/older ships and if we ever get to resume sailing it will only be on the big ships.
