  1. I believe you are incorrect on this. Ordering via Ocean Now incurs the 1-time $15 service fee (per booked voyage) and both App and TV are considered Ocean Now. PS - You don't have to just hit the speed dial either. Any call from anywhere to RS for order to cabin is $5 fee.
  2. Based on frequency of Captain rotation, he will not be there either.
  3. Obviously it wouldn't do any good to just speak to one of the phone reps.
  4. Okay.. poor choice of words. But I think we all know it is a full beverage line. Sorry missed that.
  5. I know and apparently grass isn't greener on other lines as far as money goes. Closer prices get, folks will look at the overall experience and itinerary. I know I am open to select other options, but not dumping PCL.
  6. Makes me wonder if people cruising in the next few weeks appealed to PCL, looking to cancel, if PCL wouldn't offer something back like some OBC or a package upgrade in order to retain the business. If so, the guest might be good still after the cruise and book again. If they let them go, they probably aren't returning. Tough call, but if I were PCL, I'd at least listen to their pitch and try and assess if this is a customer I can retain with some goodwill or if they just want to b***h and dump me.
  7. Did you book since Dec 14 and do you have the newest $80 Premier plan? If so, then fine. Otherwise, you don't get the new things unless you upgrade to $80 level.
  8. Yes, you get the new stuff because you are on the $60 Plus plan (booked since Dec 14/22).
  9. It's an American thing. On 4th of July, this guy can down more Nathan's Hot Dog's in 10 minutes than anyone else. Multi-year champion.
  10. Someone else asked this recently and here is an interesting exercise. You want Plus for $60/day. For the cabin, the cost is $120. Your mate owes $16/day for CA and $15/day for internet (if they wanted that I presume). Your mate is short $29 for Plus that they don't want to spend. Let's say you pay them $29/day. Total of $89 for the voyage. If you bought standalone Plus beverage package, you would pay $77 for that, plus another $31 for CA and internet. $108. Cheaper for you to pay the friend the difference to get Plus. But then they can get free drinks, so they ought to compensate you for whatever coffee, juice, water, soda, etc they end up having. Won't cost you that extra $29/day in the end if you are fair with each other. Hey, if two people can live in a confined space for 7/10/14 days, surely they can come up with a strategy that works for both parties and each get what they want.
  11. You must be talking about the standalone beverage packages and not the cruise fare packages. One person in the cabin can purchase a standalone beverage package (but it is not economical to do so), but at least TWO people must book the cruise fare package (includes other benefits). Australia is not an exception in this regard unless something just happened in last day or so - highly unlikely.
  12. True. You have to have a specific SD credit on your profile in order to book SD reservation and pay $0 in advance.
  13. Most of us do not understand why you keep harping on this train of argument. With respect, if a guest is going to be ordering drinks that would take their daily spend over $60/pp (including CA and Internet), then it doesn't matter whether that is three of this or five of that. The point is the guest is spending less with the package than they would a la carte. And yet you seem to think they ought to be pushing 15 drinks in order to make sense of it.
  14. OH CRAP!!! How did I manage to screw this up!! It is - of course - $15/pp ONE TIME fee that cover the booked voyage. And double grr on their dumb 99 cent business.
  15. Yeah.. seems high. I was expecting something like $10 max. Doesn't take much to get to the $15 all-in. (And why did they come up with stupid $14.99 all-in and yet each item is an even $ amount? Whatever...)
  16. I really do wish another thread had not been started, but here is the answer once again. First it depends on which Plus package you have - older $50 one or newer $60 one. The cutover date mentioned in the PCL webinar was Dec 14. If you have the old one, you get nothing of the new changes and pay a la carte for service charges and for-fee restaurants. If you have the $60 Plus, you can dine 2X per booked voyage in any of the for-fee casual dining locations. Dining means you are entitled to food up to a $15/pp 3-course meal. The only change to for-fee casual dining locations is to include Alfredo's into the mix. Other previous casual dining remains free. You can also order items a la carte from casual dining menus and you might not spend $15 each time (we wouldn't as we go at lunch and share a pizza, for example). The other new fees are service charges for Ocean Now delivery at your location or for calling Room Service to get food or drink. If you have Premier, you get unlimited casual dining. But must be the $80 price point to get this.
  17. Joking, or you have not seen the hottest Princess Forum thread of all time that now has over 1,000 posts concerning the changes in casual dining and service fees?
  18. If you booked in November, you are definitely on the old Plus, so either go without the new perks, or upgrade for $10/pp/day. Yes, you will be subject to the $15/pp/day Ocean Now ordering fee. IDK if guests can be clever and manage to have one person do all the ordering and save $15. That only works if you are always together.
  19. We are not non-drinkers, but the pricing in the packages that represents the alcohol portion (I ignore the OTT ice cream sundaes) doesn't work for us. It's been quite clear since late last year at least that PCL is finding ways to hike prices and extract revenue where there was none before. Considering the bits I read about other lines on here, I am not surprised they are turning Alfredo's into a for-fee dining location. With our relatively infrequent usage of it, I can live with a few extra dollars cost on a voyage. I don't find ordering via the App useful for infrequent bar orders. So, probably said it before here or the other thread, but this light drinker (I do Bring My Own Wine though) isn't exactly unhappy. Now, take away Standard fare and Elite Minibar and you might see steam coming out of my ears.
  20. THIS! ETA: Based on the fact that the standalone alcohol packages are well-inflated in price, I would say that a Zero/Minus package (Standard, Zero, Plus, Premium) should be priced at $40 - $45/pp/day. But you know, we still might not go with that package. PS - I realize the marketing people would never name such a package Zero or Minus.
