  1. Is this called side to side? Are the cruise ships with the same cruise line? Just wondering what would happen if one or other of the ships were delayed getting into Southampton.
  2. One of the things we look for when booking a cabin is to make sure there is a deck of cabins above and below us. Imagine a seesaw. Most movement is at the ends, far less towards or in the middle.
  3. I gather some damage is also being repaired and the damaged lifeboat returned.
  4. Bin Man - Yes thank you. Bit wary with some of the reviews but no doubt far more happy cruisers that had not reviewed. Easy to get lots of steps in with a ship that size!
  5. I was on the sailing. Yes a passenger was taken ill and was taken off by helicopter. Before the incident we had been sailing at I think 16knots approx. After we increased to 21 knots. Thoughts, prayers and best wished to the passenger, family and friends.
  6. We live in and flew out from Birmingham and we were put on the Gatwick flight. From leaving the ship at 11:15to getting home we were traveling just shy of 23 hours.
  7. Went through 25 June 23. We were very early but sailed through fast track. Had access to Lounge but can't enter until 3 hours before flight departure time.
  8. Yes, they do. At least I know Discovery does.
  9. Marella basically provide the transport to and from KSC and your entrance ticket. I think they have a KSC employee on all the coaches to warm you up and give you hints how to enjoy your day. The time there is your own.
  10. My understanding is the the Birmingham flight flew from Melbourne to Birmingham with the land based holidaymakers and then they were redistributed from Birmingham. We were put on the Gatwick flight which was late taking off due to luggage difficulties and also some passengers being on the Gatwick plane instead of the Glasgow plane. I understand the Gatwick plane arrived in Melbourne on Saturday and flew over to La Romana DR on Sunday evening. From Gatwick we then underwent a 3 hour coach journey to Birmingham Then we got a taxi home. From leaving the ship at 11:15 local time we were travelling just shy of 23 hours.
  11. Think I read on Book of Face that itinerary changed and will depart New York a couple of hours later than original itinerary.
  12. I gather adult admission is $75 and then the cost of getting there. I saw elsewhere someone reckoned uber or equivalent $50. So a lot depends on how many of you are in your party. 1 or 2 adults then probably not much in it. Also if visiting on changeover day on a ship tour then hopefully will get priority on going ashore. If booking rivately then there could be a delay in getting ashore.
  13. We fly 23 June from Birmingham. Our itinerary on second week has been changed, only noticed when I went on to Cruise Control to look for excursions. Key West has been pulled, Day 9 now Bimini followed by Miami. No totification from agent or Marella/TUI
  14. Do you think that is that poor forward planning from P&O or poor communication between P&O and airlines?
  15. Perhaps the idea of bigger, higher capacity cruise ships did not take into account the increase in number of flights required to fill them. Particularly when not sailing out of UK. At least you have been told well in advance unlike those of us on the original maiden voyage. PR wise P&O do not cover themselves in glory.
  16. Yes much too late for you! Queen Anne's maiden was supposed to be 04 January 2024 - over a year away.
  17. Also I gather Cunard have delayed the maiden voyage of Queen Anne from 04 January 2024 to 03 May 2024.
  18. I've read on FB this evening that for one night only a shakedown cruise is taking place on 21 December 2022. Anyone know anything about it?
  19. The first physical muster I did no one noticed I wasn't wear the life jacket. We had 3 occupants in our cabin but only 2 jackets. On way back after muster I asked for one.
  20. Toatally agree. Whilst not wishing to sound as if I am condoning the action perhaps some cancel/transfer at this point and therefore there is higher availability.
  21. Well explained Megabear2. Although as our fcc is reduced it does mean it has less effect when comparing the bottom line between like for like cruises on different lines. Of course using fcc only affects the cost element to P&O of the 'service' bought.
  22. Apply for a lunch and tour to see what we could have 'won'. P&O do Bullseye! Have to apply and obviously only really of use to those within easy travel of terminal. We also get the loyalty points from the cruise. Maybe now they will have time to do a shakedown before new maiden.
  23. Not had other money back yet. I just find it super convenient for P&O to have given a refund to paid up travellers ,highly unusual, and then cancel. So no not happy. Would have thought higher fcc particularly as so close to travel. Don't really want to travel with them again but may do to use up fcc. Not sure how long valid for and next years holidays are already booked elsewhere.
  24. Cash/credit card booking. Paid in full then given some obc (not sure in which order). Then a couple of weeks ago informed getting a partial refund as price dropped. Now cancelled and offered / being given refund plus 10% fcc on newly discounted balance paid.
  25. That's what I find very 'fishy'. Was it a convenient ploy as they knew/heavily suspected it would not go ahead. So give paid up passengers a refund and then this would reduce any future cruise credit offered. Am I a cynic or is it sharp practice.
