  1. I agree, but unfortunately he has had numerous problems with his bill, charged twice for bottles of wine he ordered and cancelled pre-cruise when he instead bought a beverage package, for instance. Being charged over $40 to wash a pair of underwear and then rudely dismissed by the desk agent after standing in line over an hour was the last straw. I wish I knew how to contact someone who could resolve the problem.
  2. I am traveling on the Miami to Rome TA on Divina right now with friends who've never traveled with MSC before. They're elite with Princess and now Diamond with MSC. They got their their statement (we arrive in Rome tomorrow) and are livid. The sent a 20 piece bag of laundry out and at the last minute threw in a pair of underwear, thinking they'd be charged for one extra item as a a separate piece. But they were charged over $40 for that one extra piece! He went to customer service about it but they were adamant that this constituted a 2nd bag and wouldn't help him. He is irate and vows to badmouth MSC every chance he gets. I told him to pursue the matter shoreline when he gets home, but I'm wondering if there's anything you seasoned travelers can suggest.
  3. Still trying to decide whether to purchase the Easy package for upcoming 25 nt transatlantic. Will not go to a higher package due to the already high cost of purchasing one for such a long cruise. I will mostly drink wine at dinnertime, probably 2 glasses, and possibly a before or after dinner cosmo. On seas days (13 of them) there might be a bloody mary or mimosa added late morning, plus bottled waters and the occasional soda. My fear is that the wines may be awful. I'm definitely not a wine snob and drink inexpensive wines here in the U.S. - $6 - $8 bottles, lol. Any thoughts?
  4. We are 3 persons ages 79 - 80 thinking about doing the above tour during our short post-cruise stay in Rome in June. One in our party wears short-leg braces and would have difficulty with steps. Would this tour be too hard for her? THanks.
  5. The last time I was on the Divina was in 2014 and I remember a really nice thermal pool near the gym, don't know if it was part of the spa but it was open to all. Is that gone?
  6. Thanks, I would absolutely have no problems doing that if I were actually traveling alone, but my friends live in Utah and I live in Florida and this is an opportunity for us to be together.
  7. Thank you so much - makes me breath a little easier as I would hate to have to eat alone!
  8. I'm going on Divina transatlantic in May, Miami to Rome for 25 nights and will be traveling with a couple who are long-time friends. I drink very little and had planned to purchase a bottle of wine for my stateroom and just fill in with the occasional glass of wine. However, my friend told me yesterday that she's purchasing the Easy drink package for her and her husband as a surprise birthday and anniversary present for him. Now I feel I'm stuck. Of course we will be dining together in the MDR every evening but I don't want to have to spend nearly $1000 just to eat with them! I want to call MSC and see what my options are but I'm afraid they'll change my fare if I call - that seems to happen. Have any of you had success talking to the maitrre'de on the first night to get this straightened out? Thanks in advance.
  9. Was on Harmony in January right after the "new" menus came out and it's the first time I ever left a cruise hungry. I have never complained about any food I'm served and I've never sent a dish back. However, everyone around us had to send the prime rib back, some more than once - it came out either raw or shoe leather, very stringy and unedible. I figured I'd be safe with lasagna on Italian night and it looked like slop and tasted even worse. It didn't remotely resemble lasagna. I didn't touch it after the first bite but the waiter never noticed or offer a replacement item and truthfully, I didn't even want to try. The onion soup literally had NO onions. My friend ordered calamari appetizer and it came out cold. I just hate to see the quality go down so badly.
  10. Thanks, this is the deatiled list of was wanting to see.
  11. Going on a 25-nt TA in May and trying to decide whether to get the Easy package or just pay as I go. I mainly drink wine with dinner and possibly a cosmo now and then. I also like a bloody Mary on occasion. I would love to see what the Easy inclusions are. I've seen some that say cosmos and Bloody Marys are included and another that doesn't show either of them. Thanks in advance.
  12. Totally agree - PLEASE give your IT department a complete overhaul and bring it into this century. I love sailing with MSC but the problems BEFORE sailing are making me afraid to book again - it's truly insane!
  13. Oh, okay. I confess I haven't heard of $40,000 trips. Allianz works for me.
  14. You might look into buying annual travel insurance, especially as you're a frequent traveler. Save tons of money and you don't have to worry about the pre-existing issue.
  15. Just off the Harmony on Saturday and the onion soup, which was offered on two of the nights, was truly inedible. Watery, tasteless broth smothered by a glob of tasteless cheese that couldn't be cut with a knife. Worst ever, and I love French onion soup.
  16. Just off Harmony and shrimp cocktail was only offered twice in the MDR, couldn't get it any other time. Also, we were told by our waiter that beef could only be ordered cooked two ways - well done and medium rare (which came out raw).
  17. I just got off the Harmony on Saturday and I can tell you the new menu and the MDR food are garbage. The food was so below average that we dreaded going to dinner - some things were downright inedible. You are not allowed to request any item that isn't on that night's menu unless you have dietary restrictions that were addressed pre-cruise. We would have gone to the jam-packed Windjammer except our dining companions were so nice that we enjoyed their company. However, all of us were extremely disappointed in the food. First time I was ever happy to get off a ship in over 30 cruises on various lines.
  18. I was on Harmony of the Seas last week and the food was the worst I've ever had - I've been on 30+ cruises with every line except Disney. The MDR was the absolute worst - I would be embarrassed to serve up what they were dishing out. Also, VERY limited menu now, one page and no, you can't ask for anything if it isn't on that nights menu. I was supposed to get a shrimp cocktail when it was on the first night's menu but it never came, so I figured I'd just get one the next night. Nope, the waiter said we couldn't have it - in fine print at the bottom it says you cannot have anything that isn't on the menu unless you have dietary restrictions that were addressed pre-cruise! We were actually glad to get off the ship so we could fix something decent at home.
  19. I've been trying for several days to order shore excursions and wifi for my TA Divina cruise in May (I've already paid in full). However, after I add them to my cart and go to "Pay", I just get in a never-ending dooloop with a gray background and the MSC ship in the middle. I called MSC this AM trying to book by phone and the agent wasn't able to access any of them either and said it was a "server" problem and to call back in several hours. Has anyone else been experiencing this? It's bad when you can't even do it by phone!
  20. A friend who will be with her husband on the same cruise as I tried to purchase the wifi package for the cruise and was told BOTH pax in a cabin had to purchase it, she couldn't buy it for just one device for her. Is this true?!
  21. Yes, for my 25 nt TA the beverage packages are showing as $950 for easy pkg, $1275 for easy plus. Think I'll forego the packages and just pay as I go along!
  22. Also, if it's not too much trouble, could you post a picture of the cocktail menu for the Easy Package? Thanks in advance!
  23. I'm also doing the 25 nt TA in May on Divina, trying to decide if I want a drink package or not. Have there been any daily drink specials or happy hour offerings? I'm thinking of just purchasing a few bottles of wine for my cabin and having the occasional bloody mary or martini.
