  1. Do you honestly think you will walk on any ship and there will be no active cases of covid? The crew has covid, guests with false or un-timely tests board with covid, excursions/shopping workers in the ports have covid. It exists...everywhere. This whole idea of keeping everyone safe by doing a 2 day- pre-cruise test is delusional thinking. The 2-day pre-cruise testing is a joke, and it accomplishes nothing. A more sensible approach will be vaccinated/boosted passengers will no longer take a test...and I have a strong belief it is coming very soon to a cruise line near you.
  2. I look for the end of September as this will mark the end of the current set of rules in place.
  3. I think the next phase will be no testing required if you are vaccinated or no testing required if you are vaccinated and boosted.
  4. The fact is, unlike years ago, the ships are the destination. Most of the island's located in the Caribbean economy is based upon cruise tourism. So... I am pretty sure the useless testing requirements of certain islands will quickly go away once the ships decide not to go there.
  5. Because it is not working...people are still getting onboard with Covid because the tests are not fool proof. There is a small window within the infection period where the tests work. At this point the testing is a waste of time and is basically taking place because it makes a few people mistakenly feel safe. Any travel can result in illness and to lessen your chances, people need to practice good hygiene. Clearly with the major increase with shootings, crime and disrespect taking place today it has proven keeping people confined to their homes has caused more harm than good.
  6. I believe there were four in port that morning. Terminal D is where Horizon docks...midport. I would not worry about how many ships are in port. With facial screening the debarkation process is a breeze. 10:30 AM flight should not be a problem.
  7. We made it in early last week. Passengers started debarkation around 6:30AM
  8. I have found the beds to be far superior when staying in a suite. Often those inside cabins tend to have a worn, bowed out mattress.
  9. Dandick...A hundred in the Facebook private group have come forward. Anyway, I am done with you. Welcome to ignore...I have been on this board dating back to when it was an AOL chatroom and I have only 4 people on ignore. Congrats Well stated. This was my exact experience on Horizon as well.
  10. I will not reveal names of people...there are laws against that...but since it seems to be overly important to you, go to the June 25 Horizon Facebook page, ask to join the group and you will see at least 100 passengers admitting they are sick with verified Covid (home test or Dr visit). You and a couple others should be ashamed of yourself for downplaying this event. There is a problem onboard right now and people who may soon board the ship need to know about it.
  11. It is a fact an "extraordinary" amount of folks came down with covid on the Horizon. Does that make you feel better? I was told the ship left late on Sunday due to cleaning and a Coast Guard inspection...maybe someone currently onboard can verify. Added: As for your other comment about National News lol...nobody reports they have it to avoid quarantine. As a matter of fact, one cruiser said her husband DID go down to be tested as was told in medical "do you really want a test, because you will be quarantined if positive"
  12. Get a grip...the numbers are for real. Make light of it if you want. Typical Carnival Cheerleader. As for your other remark, while it may not be a killer disease it once was, it still sucks getting sick. Carnival practiced zero cleaning or hand washing protocols.
  13. Not putting much faith in that...the Horizon came back on Sunday with literally half the ship catching covid. Several have said the cruise prior was infested as well.
  14. I felt no issues with AC then entire cruise. I will say the casino was billowing with smoke...more than I have ever encountered before. It seems our sailing has an extremely high number of covid cases...one glance at the Facebook page will show you an alarming amount of folks sharing their bad news.
  15. Yes you will have to get in line early. The line stretched to the Casino in several cases. One of the comedians, short curly hair Dominic Leonelli? Absolutely horrible. I walked past him one day while he was eating lunch and he was reading a book about how to tell jokes. I think he needs a new book.
  16. Yes...it was all you could drink for 45 minutes, your choice. Introduction of officers (except Captain) played the usual video clip of ships.
  17. Because there is a select group of people out there who don't like the idea of somebody getting something they are not. The way I see it is if you have a problem with slot pulls...don't join one and if you don't join one...it is none of your business.
  18. Do you remember about what time you assembled? I assume the out of the cabin by 8:30 applies to everyone including B to B cruisers
  19. I did find out something today which has not been discussed. In my case I am cruising solo for the first leg and then family joining for the second leg. While going through the booking process (even though I found the same cabin available for both legs) Royal would not allow me to book due to their occupancy requirements. Therefore, I had to book a standard 2-person cabin for the solo portion and then book a triple cabin for leg number 2. Fortunately, I was able to find two cabins literally right next to each other which satisfied the requirement. Hopefully the people leave early and with coordination with my room steward, I can move my stuff myself.
  20. And that is a fact. Midship lowest deck is the place to be if feeling seasick.
