  1. A year ago I would have said yes but I'm also on a Feb 2020 cruise and have not yet seen any upgrade promos. I got a notice of the new Premium Perks package at a discounted rate but Celebrity would not allow me to upgrade my Classic perk to this package when I called.
  2. I'm trying to log into my cruise planner during the final 10 hours of the extended "Super Sale" to see if there are any good deals. I cannot log in so I decided to call. As we speak I have been on hold for 20 minutes.....What's ever happened to customer service?

  4. I was expecting people who have recently been on HAL sailings to reiterate whether or not HAL is still charging for a second entree on it's ships in the MDR at dinner. I was NOT expecting snarky, snotty comments which has become the norm on these boards by Know it All Keyboard Bullies like yourself.

Actually I was referencing "Schmoo here"s response about their experience April 4 & 5th and also TAD2005 comment in my originally referenced post so I'm unsure why are saying that my link doesn't support my statement....You did see the question mark in my OP Line correct? I'm unsure of what's been going on on every cruise since March 31 but came upon these 2 examples so thought I'd put the question out there for legitimate responses not rude critiques.
  6. It seem's its now become a Maitre D's option to enforce but that menu's are still served saying that the $10 surcharge exists. Not a good sign.
  7. I think you'll find Celebrity food a far cry from anything comparable to Michelin star quality, including the surcharge restaurants like Qsine or Tuscan Grille (which I happen to enjoy). If you are booking a suite you may have a more pleasant experience in Luminae specifically for Suite Guests which I am sure is of higher caliber than normal fare.

  9. Throughout most of last summer you could find the 10% discount to upgrade on your cruise planner. It was discussed here for quite a long period and was available for my sailing last July 29th.
  10. It seems as though Celebrity has stopped intermittently running the 10% off discount for upgrading your drink package. I wonder if this is because they've ingrained the classic drink package as one of the perks in the regular promotional rates and now rely on this upgrade revenue more heavily.

If HAL were to implement permanent second entree surcharges and you (or me) decided to dine primarily at the Lido Buffet, would you consider adjusting your automatic tip in favor of directly tipping those servers waiting on your in the buffet? I feel I would. I’m sorry to the dining room staff where my table/seat was assigned but if HAL can engage in exclusionary practices I can choose to assign to whom my money goes.
  12. Hi there, sorry but forgive my ignorance but in Concierge class rooms you are still paying for liquor in the minibar correct? Even with the drink package?
  13. I think they really need to re-think this. They serve 4oz lobster tails and are surprised people wants a second? Get real.
  14. Today I received an email from my HAL personal cruise consultant and I responded letting her know I do not support this trial and I will not be booking another HAL cruise until I learn that it has been discontinued. I’m interested to see if she responds.

  18. Ugh, the sarcasm from most of you on these boards is ridiculous anymore! I’ve read the other post, not all 43 pages because it’s gone off topic and in so many tangents it doesn’t really answer my question. A few sailings prior to February say they’ve experienced this MDR surcharge. There has been no identification if it was on a Specialty dining cruise or normal HAL sailing. I was hoping for something more current and detailed not people’s opinions on obesity or dining room manners/attire but you all rather be arrogant and nasty in your responses.
  19. Has this concept been rolled out Fleetwide? Are they trying to get more people to dine in the buffet? If you have actually experienced this on a normal HAL ship please respond. Culinary specialty cruises it’s understandable but extra charges on normal entrees in MDR is the question at hand????

  21. We arrived about 10:15-10:30 on a 4 Nighr spring break cruise on the Liberty. There was no wait in line for early/late boarding, the only difference is they get a zone and we waited in a non-checked priority section which took minutes to process. Agents weren’t even checking your boarding paperwork as they called thru Wedding parties, Platinum, Suite, FTTF categories of boarding. Secondly once aboard the hallway doors to cabins were locked with signs saying no stateroom entry until 1:30pm and no staff to assist. Luckily at one of the elevator entries I found a regular door giving entry to the stateroom hallway and myself and about 5 others took it. Again no one was around to assist or question us. IMHO it wasn’t organized enough or worth the fee.
