  1. The renewal of my passport came within 10 days. However, when I got the old passport back, "postage due" was written on the envelope. There was no amount listed so I wonder what happened. You would think if I am paying $110 for the passport renewal, that should have been enough for adequate postage! Oh well, I am just glad to have the new passport.

  2. I can use some of the functions of the app. I am still waiting for it to recognize that I have 2 cruises booked. Apparently it will do a countdown, but even though I am signed in, it says "Return here when you have a cruise booked to get a real-time countdown for your vacation". The Captain's Club doesn't show any points that I have or the status. It also doesn't recognize that I am on my home WiFi. Hopefully they are working on it!

Also, as I had to cut & paste the above reply since I had to sign in again to the Boards, I guess I can't expect too much.

  3. I have also noticed a problem for several weeks now. Every time I tried to post to a thread, I would get "error, you need to make your post at least 3 characters longer". I would have to log out and log back in so I could post a response. Probably will have to do that with this post, just have to use copy & paste instead of rewriting the entire post after signing back in. And no, I made no changes to my computer, did not sign out, did not disable cookies, etc.

  4. We are not supposed to name travel agencies on these threads. That said, you should contact other companies. $50 OBC is pretty shabby. I've never gotten that little from a travel agent!

Absolutely true! We booked recently on the Celebrity Edge and will be getting Classic drink pkg., gratuities and $300 OBC.

We are also Diamond on RCCL, but have found much better deals on Celebrity. We have also found Celebrity more to our liking.

  5. after A DOZEN OR SO SAILINGS FROM fT.lAUDERDALE AND STAYS AT THE Hilton's AND mARRIOTTS WE HAVE GONE BACK TO OUR FIRST HOTEL AND HAVE DONE SO FOR A FEW REASONS.

QUALITY INN & SUITES AIRPORT/CRUISE PORT SOUTH

    2520 Stirling Rd.,

Great place to spend a night or two pre or post cruise.

Free shuttles, free HOT breakfast not just a Hilton cup of Joe and a wrapped muffin, decent pool, local shopping and eating within walking distance or short cab ride. Lot less expensive and contrary to some (just like on Cruise Critic ) we have never had a bad room or bad experience..

We have also stayed at the Embassy Suites but we find that the Quality Inn on Stirling is fine for one night precruise. Friendly staff, good breakfast and nearby shopping and restaurants. We have never had a bad experience there.

  6. DW and I stayed there for the last two cruises. Booked them again for next month. It meets our needs. Not flashy. Clean, quiet. Shopping centre near by. Couple of chain restaurants for food. Book the port shuttle when you check in. Be ready at the appointed time you chose when you book it. We've found the shuttle to be pretty efficient.

If you wait until the morning to arrange for the shuttle be prepared for sort of controlled chaos. Or take a taxi. Can't remember the taxi price but it's not too much.

Agree with this. We have booked several times in the past and will be booking for the next cruise also. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

  7. We had a 10:35 flight out of FLL 6 weeks ago. There were 7 ships in port that day so I was a little leery, but we did walk off with our luggage and were waiting in line for a taxi by 8:30. We were at the airport in plenty of time. I realize that anything can happen and delay disembarkation, but we have had no problems.

  8. Thank you for the reference, however I'm aware of the categories being excluded...just asked if you could pay for C2 and go to C1. I know you can't go C1 to a suite if that's what you're referring to. Post #12 in the note before mine mentioned "When I booked the Equinox cruise for next year, I was able to book an A1 cabin for the A2 price, which saved me $650 and we are getting the Best Pkg as well." which made me think why would C2 to C1 be any different?

They do have some odd rules and makes you wonder why. Maybe they are trying to steer people away from certain categories that they can sell easier?

  9. I am so torn between the two; my DH says to do either, because I have gone through a lot lately....parent, back surgery, illnesses. However, I am also practical too! Call me a basket case!!!

Personally I would go with the 1A. With that difference in price, you could go on another cruise! Luminae is nice, but we were treated quite well in the MDR so no complaints there.

  10. Because IMHO it's better. If it helps, exactly 12 months ago today we were on our first Celebrity sailing on Constellation and we now have 2 more sailings booked with this cruise line and none with RCI.

In our opinion what is better?

    Buffet, layout and food offerings

    Dining room service

    Guest services, especially the concierge

    Atmosphere

    Cafe el Bacio

    Ambiance

That is almost exactly like us! We did the Constellation in Nov. of last year, then the Summit to Bermuda in May. Enjoyed them so much, we cancelled our cruise on the Anthem of the Seas to do the Infinity this Oct. and the Equinox next Oct. We especially liked the perks, better than the 3 free drinks on RCCL (well there are the free drinks in the Diamond lounge, but the times are limited) and a free picture.
