Go to http://www.insuremytrip.com and compare prices and coverage. The reps also can be contacted via live chat or on the phone. I avoid the insurance the cruise line sells because the medical coverage is so low.

Thanks for posting this. We will be on the Summit in May and I was hoping to have decent internet speeds!

Does everyone in the cabin have to upgrade or can just one? I'm fine with Jack on the rocks, but wife would like to upgrade.
Only one needs to upgrade.

Sky suite does not get unlimited internet or an upgraded drink package
I got it when I switched on the upcoming cruise to Bermuda.
-
I would do that also. Your beverage pkg will be upgraded to premium and you will have unlimited internet for both of you.

Yes you can download it on android devices.
Thanks. All downloaded and ready for the cruise in Oct.

Has this app been upgraded to include Android devices? When we sailed on the Quantum OTS, it had just come out and was only for Apple devices. They said that Android would be included in the future. Looks like an interesting app to have with lots of functionality.
-
Yes, absolutely! We are already booked for Oct. to sail on the Anthem and would not dream of cancelling.
-
I had that happen when I transferred a booking to a TA. In order for them to give me all the perks plus extra OBC from the TA, they had to rebook the sailing as a new one. I did get a new booking # because of that and I saw on the Celebrity website that the new booking was on hold. You should be able to check in with your TA and confirm that everything is OK tomorrow.
Also, because you are in Blu, there is some reason that dining is listed as traditional instead of select, but I am not sure why.

We have traveled with suitcases of that size and never had a problem. Just be sure to stay under the 50 lb. restriction. A luggage scale is your friend!

On our last cruise in Nov. on the Connie, I only took my smartphone because it was a short cruise. It is an LG operating on the Android system. Since we are Elite, we each got 90 min. of internet usage. Overall, I was actually happy with the speed and ease of connection. I had plenty of time to check my e-mail and a few things on the internet from our cabin. I even was able to check into Southwest to secure boarding positions 24 hours to departure. Then I went upstairs to the internet lounge and was able to log into their computers (Apple) and print out the boarding passes.

Yes, Verizon seems to work well there, but can't remember how many bars I had.
-
You might also consider buying a prepaid phone which has good service in the area you will be in. I have Tracfone and have had very good reception in Bayonne as I always have to call friends & family to let them know I arrived safely (and brag about being on the ship with a drink in hand!). Tracfone is just one of many prepaid phones, but I know their phones ending with a C are using Verizon towers. There are plenty on eBay and pretty inexpensive. A 30 min. one month card is $10, not cheap but better than the aggravation of no cell service.

If I can only use the OBC for credit which has to be played in the casino, why are they charging me 5%? There should be no fee because it can only be used in the casino! I will be spending more on excursions and will try to find something in the shops. Guess I'll be taking home any leftover OBC as bottles of liquor!
-
I am using TDAmeritrade also. It is $9.99 per trade, no matter how many shares are bought or sold. I like them because there are no additional fees, etc. and I can put in an order to buy or sell anytime. There are others that charge less per trade, but be sure to check for any additional fees.
It is very easy to buy--just sign on with one of the online traders, fill out the forms, and then arrange for funding from your bank, or however you want to get the money to them. Then, just go to the section that says "Buy", put in how many shares you want and what you are willing to pay. I keep tabs on the market and buy & sell accordingly. Just remember, as long as you don't sell at a loss you are OK. Plus the dividends are nice, I think the last dividends were .30 per share, so you would get $30 per quarter on 100 shares for a total of $120 per year.
The OBC is a plus and is given for each cruise you take, with varying amts. based on the length of the cruise. As far as I know, it doesn't have the OBN designation, but we have never had any trouble spending it!

Got this also and at first wondered about the RCCL heading. When I clicked on the link, it did go to my Celebrity cruise and was mainly about the ports of call. Of interest was potential future ports of call and how I felt about them. One can hope that they will develop more itineraries.

Carnival changed their rules because of alcohol smuggling. You can only take canned beverages onboard now. You probably could bring it onboard Celebrity, but since a container of liquid creamer must be refrigerated after opening, I would take a box of the 24 individual creamers. The refrigerators in the cabins don't always seem that cold.

Surely not a re-do of the web site?

:D
Sure sounds like it. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Does it take you an hour to drop off luggage' date=' park, get through security, get your S&S card, and get on board? Or are you waiting to board for awhile?[/quote']
Generally once the gates are opened and they allow the new cruisers in, it takes about 15 min. to drive around, drop off the luggage, pay for parking and then park. From there, it can take 10 min. or longer to get through security and get up to the counter. We have had occ. to sit and wait in the chairs for 20-30 min. to get onboard.

The cabins near the elevators, esp. the center ones, are great. Good location and very convenient. However, I would be wary of deck 8. You would be directly below the Lido deck, and there would be increased noise from walkers, runners, dragging of chairs, etc. Having cabins above and below are much quieter locations.
-
We generally arrive about 11:00 AM. Sometimes we are onboard by 12:00 and occ. later, depending on what time the ship arrives in Baltimore.

Great location, we have booked there several times. The cabins are behind a wall so they are very quiet and private. The convenience of being on the Lido is also a prime consideration.
