  1. Have a great cruise, I really enjoy your blog!
  2. Plus for Discovery: Great buffet. Great mini-suites. Lots of room in atrium where most entertainment takes place (this is a negative for some as atrium is loud) Great Gigis
  3. In my view, it’s about a toss up, but depends on what’s important to you. I was on Emerald Ibeen on it a few times a) and am booked for discovery Hawaii in December (which I have been on several times) Plus for Emerald: Less passengers ( although it is one of those Grand Plus” ships with an extra deck.) It goes to Nawilliwilli which is a plus for me (I like the beach there) rather than overnight in Honolulu (which will be a plus for some people). It has a proper Wheelhouse, which is a plus for me.
  4. Yes, no problems. Thanks for the good wishes.
  5. Disembarking was a real mess. They told disembarking passengers (all 700 of us and all with with luggage ) to go to the explorer lounge at 10:15. No lines, no organization. And everyone was in a hurry trying to beat the storm. Over all a very pleasant cruise, but so many strange and tragic events.
  6. About 700 passengers debarking today
  7. Sea conditions remain very calm this morning. Light rain. Go figure😄
  8. I hope the Ubers and taxi are up and running tomorrow
  9. Weather is very calm, no wind. Starting to feel a few rain drops. Sea was dead calm as we came in earlier today. Not expecting that on the ride home….but maybe a following sea as we sail ahead of the hurricane?
  10. We are tied up at dockside, unloading trash (cheaper disposal in Mexico?). A RCL ship followed us in, docked also and is letting passengers off. Not sure I understand that. They must be planning to ride storm out here in Ensenada. As we were coming in, a Carnival ship was just leaving.
  11. We are set for Ensenada arrival about 6:30 pm with a 10 PM departure (seems like a long time for paperwork, I guess we may be actually docking instead of harbor master taking a small boat to us and boarding with his stamp.). Surprisingly, Seas. Are like glass. Never seen it this calm. Captain said it will be a rougher transit up to LA.
  12. Thanks for the correction. You know how ya get on a cruise-lose track the days🙄
  13. Passengers who chose to disembark Sunday must haul their own luggage 😩
  14. Noon Time update from captain; We will arrive in Ensenada Saturday for a service call only (get our port papers stamped) and immediately leave for LA. Arrive in LA Sunday (instead of Monday) overnight in the port before normal disembarking time on Monday. Passengers who wish can disembark on Saturday . I think I got it all right
  15. I am hoping we make a run for LA, skip Ensenada (legal problems?) and beat the storm into port. Seems like Ensenada may be hit hard and not in a position to welcome us.
  16. Captain is all quiet. Not a mention of any changes to plans
  17. Ship conditions look good to me. We have new furniture on balcony
  18. I am onboard the Emerald Princess now and we arrive Hilo tomorrow. I am thinking of walking to the Japanese gardens from the dock. It looks like an easy walk. Anyone know the distance or time to walk? Thanks.
  19. I got,to agree. Kona is a lovely town, but not to much to do there. I don’t think they have a usable beach (that’s my thing on Hawaii cruises). I don’t expect them to put together much in the way of tours. Will get off (it’s a tender port) walk around, have lunch and go back to ship unless something interesting comes up.
  20. Just announced….. we will be stopping at Kona as our last port of call, replacing Maui. I heard that the banyon tree is gone
  21. Well, Hilo is our first stop. Captain says they are working on another port.
  22. BTW no1racefan1- if it’s motor sports you are a fan of……I was able to watch the Indycar race and IMSA races sitting on my balcony streaming Peacock on my iPad. Streaming is good.
