  1. On the Crown and we are heading back to LA after an early arrival and overnight in Ensenada for a medical evacuation. All is good on the Crown……no, I would say great LOL.
  2. I don’t like the automatic night lights either. A bit of tape over the sensors…problem solved
  3. We are on the Crown now, and having a very different experience than the OP. Food in MDR is probably the best we have encounter in over 40 Princess cruises, although a Crown Grill experience was less than satisfactory. Yes, there are cut backs every where, another way of raising prices as CCL struggles to service its debt. But overall, recognizing how the world has change in the last 2 years, we are very satisfied !
  4. We on her now . No engine problems or unusual vibrations. All good 👍
  5. I expect to see more cities banning cruise ships in the future.
  6. On the sapphire last month it was pretty good. I am leaving on the crown tomorrow, and will definitely check out the soft serve and report back.
  7. Being a regular cruiser on Princess and a celiac, I can report that Princess does a great job taking care of us. But be advised, that YOU will have to make an active roll in the process. I don’t believe that listing you condition in the allergy section does much. In the buffet, seek out a chief (not a cook) . They wear the tall white hat. They will walk you around and show you what is safe. They are very knowable and gracious, and although they are busy, always make time to help. Surprisingly, on Royal Class ships, the buffet is much better for a celiac with a wide variety of choices. the speciality restaurants will all accommodate you with delicious food, again, be sure to advise them when booking and checking in. And great GF pizza in the Alfredo’s or Gege’s ( but not on “slices” -the on deck pizza place) the MDR is a bit tricky, complicated by anytime dinning. Pick a dinning room and stick with it so you get to know the head waiter or manager-or what ever they are calling it these days. He will give you the menu for the next day so you can preorder. After a while, you learn what is safe and it get easier.
  8. Yes, and it gluten free (cuz it’s all sugar 😄)
  9. We too are on the Hawaii 2023 cruise of LA. Let’s hope that summer Hawaii becomes a “thing” . I know they want to send any assets they can to Alaska, but a Hawaii (and maybe some Alaska out of LA) would get my dollars for sure.
  10. On a Royal class ship, we prefer the buffet. So many choices. I am celiac and must avoid gluten. Surprisingly, I do a lot better (choice wise) in the buffet, after a quick consultation with on of the chief.
  11. Yes the RT SF-Alaska is a great cruise. Did that last year. But still involves 2 flights and a hotel stay pre cruise.
  12. The pre-Covid RT Alaska from LA was a great cruise on the Discovery, and seemed to be well subscribed. I was disappointed that Princess did not bring it back after the restart. Not exactly a RT, but we are doing a B2B, sailing 5 day coastal from LA to Vancouver, followed with an 8 day Alaska, fly back from Vancouver. At least we only have to fly once.
  13. I usually don’t pay too much attention “sale “ emails from Princess. (How can there always be a sale?). But I got one today which caught my eye. An 11 day California Coastal! As a homeport cruiser.,we like to sailing out of LA, and do a lot of coastal‘s. 11 days would be a very welcome change from the usual seven day cruise. Sadly, upon further investigation, it seems that this cruise is round-trip from Vancouver. Now, if princess would only do an 11 day round-trip from LA. Up to coast all the way to Canada and back down. I think that might be pretty popular. How about it Princess?
  14. Thanks for posting a great on-board. I have enjoyed your cruise 😄
  15. Thanks for the excellent reviews. I always follow WC blogs, but have not seen one for a Princess ship, and we are primarily Princess Cruisers. Enjoy!
  16. Yes….I am celiac and greatly enjoy my GF meals when at a. Sabatini’s. And yes, discuss with them when you book your reservation.
  17. I have such sympathy for you Kazu as I too was medically debarked from a Princess Ship many years ago (same port). My advice is get home to your regular doctors and insurance as soon as you can. I now limit my cruising to Cal coastals, Alaska and Hawaii so as not to end up,somewhere deep in the 3rd world where my insurance is no good.. Best wishes for your medical adventure.
  18. I always follow and enjoy your blogs. Thanks for posting. Have a greatWC
  19. Thanks for posting such a great review. I am on board for the Jan 31 Hawaii run and wondering……are vibrations still an issue? How is the Wheelhouse music and party band?
  20. I really enjoy cruise blogs, especially WC blogs. Anyone on the HAL world cruise going to be blogging? Thanks
