  1. Not being a “big ship” guy, I didn’t think I would like, but hey, they have really grown on me. PROS 1) Mini-suites are great. Better than grand class. Especially like the curtain divider which can make it like 2 rooms 2). The variety of food in the buffet is amazing. And in theses Covid conscious times, get your food and go outside if you want. I am a celiac and must avoid gluten Surprisingly, no problem in the buffet. Find a white hat and they happily walk you around telling you what is safe. 3). The very back of the ship. Out behind the buffet is a small area when you can eat, enjoy coffee or just hang out. It’s sheltered from the wind. Go up the stairs and there is a similar area with very comfortable chairs and sofas. It’s the smoking area, and even though I am not a smoker, it’s an enjoyable ares. Go up the stairs their one more deck and it’s the dedicated walking/running track. CONS 1). No real Wheelhouse. The area designated as the “wheelhouse “ is basically nothing more than a waiting area for the crown grill.
  2. Thanks to the OP for posting. Following along as we are onboard her in September. You mentioned that you enjoy Adadio. I agree it is a lovely bar. Is there any entertainment there? Only thing I have ever encountered there is the house band doing some jazz.
  3. I sold and I am doing the “30 day wash” now, and will harvest about a $1000 tax loss. I will repurchase in a week, in time to use for my Sept cruise.
  4. He gives a great sermon in 4-5 minutes. Now, if I could get my pastor into that time zone!😂
  5. It’s good to see rafinmd is cruising and blowing again. Roy is my favorite blogger.
  6. A vote for Princess. As I get older and the airlines melt down, I love cruising locally (out of LA). My evening activity is listening to music and despite some downsizing (no wheelhouse on Royal Class ships) it is still pretty good. I have even come to appreciate the Royal class ships for great mini-suites and the buffet. Now, if Princess would just bring back the LA-Alaska and spare me a flight to S.F.
  7. These days, we prefer Uber. Princess Transfers, multiply the price X2. Wait for the bus to fill. Wait for the bus to unload-and it will unload at the speed of the slowest moving passenger. And than you are with the 40-50 passengers who arrive at the checking line at one time.
  8. Hey, those are the ones I sold 😂😂
  9. Forgive the slight thread drift, but one Sapphire cruise for me has been cancelled because the ship was not ready to go back into service. Getting nervous about my November Hawaii as Sapphire seems to still be in layup.
  10. Today I sold to “harvest the tax loss”. I will do the 30 day “wash” and repurchase it in 30 days, in time to use for my September cruise.
  11. I wonder how well room service will be able to accommodate food allergies (speaking as a celiac)
  12. We definitely prefer CC on longer cruises with lots of sea days. Nice to have a long lunch on sea days, but cruises with lots of port day ( when CC is closed for lunch ) not worth it for us. Also, on Royal class ships (not my favorite) we prefer the buffet.
  13. Can claiming ESG status be far behind? 😂
  14. Not sure, but maybe they will be streaming it on Peacock and u can watch on internet
  15. Had some on the Discovery last week. GF is available, and I didn’t need to order in advance. Being Celiac, I have had GF pizza before and, frankly, I am not a big fan of them . Discovery was on par with California Pizza. That being said, we Really enjoy Alfredo’s and went there twice on a 7 day. Bring some GF croutons for the salad. They made a run down to the I.C. For me and picked up a GF dessert . Exceptional service.
