  1. After logging in earlier in the day today, and seeing that I was pre-gold, (and came on here to voice my opinion...) when I got home from the office, I re-logged into RCI and I'm back to being GOLD and all is well!!!

.... remember, you may want to LOG out and then log back in some time later... I believe the system locks you out for 15 minutes until you can log-in again! and NO, I didn't change my birthdate or gender, just re-logged in.

Good luck - hopefully it's just first day jitters of the new and 'yet improved again' website!

  2. While the website looks GREAT RCI - doing some testing to ensure that the millions of royal to loyal customers are not ready to lynch you for losing C & A points...

While I have an ounce of patience, it appears that MANY others do not and want a FIX right away...

I know you have all my previous cruise info, even thou you say I'm PRE-GOLD i know I can't be with 3 7-night cruises under my belt...

So FIX IT - make it better - looks pretty, but WORKING CORRECTLY and looking pretty are 2 different things!!

  3. Given that itinerary, I would get off the boat and decide.. Every one of those islands is BEAUTIFUL in their own sense and seeing it from your balcony doesn't seem like the real way to soak in the islands beauty.

And sorry, I found St. Kitts to be beautifully intriguing and unique, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions!!!

    Happy Sailing!!

  4. How big is the group? I have not been on Harmony but have been on Oasis and Allure. I am assuming that layout is similar.

There will be a lot of people moving about after the muster drill and this will take about half hour to settle down.

If I was looking to fix a meeting point, I would choose the schooner bar. If the weather is good then the bar in front of Aquatheatre in the boardwalk would be recommended.

there is no bar directly infront of the Aquatheatre,as that is now the end of the ride for the Ultimate Abyss.

Suggestion would be - by the carousel on the boardwalk, Schooner Bar on Deck 6 , or in front of the spinning head on Deck 5. As others have mentioned, it will be crowded after the muster drill, another suggestion would be PICK someone's stateroom and meet there!

    Happy Cruising!

  5. While I did not stay in the interior room on deck 12 like you asked, I will say that Wonderland is probably the quietest dining facility on the ship... it's hours are from 5-10pm and most guests to the restaurant are welcomed in by the interesting entryway into the restaurant and don't cause a disturbance.

Also, you room might look close on the deck plans, but you are in the hallway with other cabins and not straight NEXT to the restaurant.

    Enjoy your cruise

  6. Flat irons can RUIN clothing if the flatiron is too hot or used on polyester.... (did this last cruise to my dress on the last night) ALSO, flatirons are no where NEAR the same fire hazard as a REAL iron and get no where near as hot - it also helps that flatirons have 2 ceramic plates to contact each other in order to work properly.

if Flatirons were on the naughty list I wouldn't cruise because I wouldn't have any chance of good hair without in in the Caribbean!! I think MANY other ladies are with me on that!!!

if you have to cruise with clothing that requires an IRON, REPACK!!!

  7. Prebooking separate reservations for 4 and 2 will not ensure that a table for 6 will be available.

Thanks Bob - That's what I'm afraid of and don't want to run the risk...

If you have some flexibility...you could try booking on the first night. It is never busy that night when we go in there on Oasis anyway.

Already doing Chops for the first night and with the "words of wisdom" from Bob, I'm thinking if this is the ONLY dinner I don't have planned or reserved before we get onboard, we can wing it. I'll head to 150 CP when I get on board - the question will be, do I ask before or after my Roast Beef Sandwich from Park Cafe!! ???

    Thanks everyone!

  8. PLENTY of time....

Heck I want to have an 11am flight home when I get back and not have to wait until 5pm with everyone else in the airport!!!

I know last year I couldn't get thru TSA until 3 hours before my flight... with NO SEATS available anywhere to then wait some more at the gate... Makes for quite the damper on such a great vacation!

The earlier the flight the better... remember you aren't the only cruise ship back and you certainly are not the only people flying!

and If I had a flight back early I would - but alas, SW doesn't really like Long Island - New Yorkers and the only non-stop was at 5 - meanwhile if I want to make a few stops, I can get home 20 minutes before the non-stop flight!!!

  9. Hello -

Just a quick question, I'm sure someone here can help me -

Dining and entertainment recently opened up for my 8/18/18 HOTS sailing and I wanted to book this restaurant for the 6 people in my group for our last night.

When I select everyone - it says not available, (for any seating) I thought maybe it was because my 13 year old niece will be joining us, so I took her out of the equation and STILL no - nothing for 5 people, but I could very easily get just about any table I wanted for 4 people on any given night...

SO - What's the deal?? For a party of 6 at 150 you have to book onboard? Do I have to go with a reservation for 4 and then add 2 more people when we get onboard?

Thanks in advance CC members - best cruise forum EVER!!!

  10. In the end, it really all comes down to you, but I will say this:

Stayed on Deck 6 Allure - 1st time on Oasis call ship

Then Deck 8 for Oasis - 2nd time...

Last Year on Harmony - Deck 10 - All of these cabins were Ocean Balcony rooms...

This summer we are spinning the tables COMPLETELY and doing a Central Park Balcony room on Deck 11... I'm on the fence about this, since I really do love my ocean balcony for sunrise/sunsets...

My favorite cabin was Deck 8 - right outside CP and just lovely to stroll thru, get morning coffee/danish and start the day in the such a beautiful atmosphere. I also found Deck 8 to be very convenient for getting almost anywhere.

I felt NO movement in any of my cabins

I will say, that I found whatever room I had, I was happy, I was ON VACATION!!! :D

  11. Loving your review Radio...

This is making my 16 week wait to go on HOTS again real fun!!!

Looks like another fast speedy check-in experience, which really surprised me last May when it was as easy as 1, 2, 3....

She is quite a beauty of ship, I'm sure you will enjoy her this week - and YES, upgrade for the coffee machine - on my list to do as one of the first things to do. I'm sorry, I'm a NY'er, I like good coffee! (cawfee)

Happy Sailing... I'll be watching sailaway this afternoon!

  12. I'm so sad our little cruise is over... WAH....:(

This has been a wonderful and hysterical live review this week, and has been a great break from the normal day to day stresses for a lot of us here on CC! Like others have said, I hope you become a Live Blog & RCI regular as yes, the Oasis class of ship is like an addiction, and August can NOT come soon enough for my 2nd time on HOTS. You had me laughing all week long and you took a page out of my book and made the most of the drink package!! CHEERS!!!

...loved the positive elevator story, sizzle like bacon and learned OOTD!!!!

    ...until your next cruise....

  13. A Flannbar sighting. This Jeanie came out of the bottle and made all our wishes come true. It was amazing!! 463739a836257dfdd23bb997b440e7c7.jpg

Totally enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks with our new friends! Don't you just love cruise critic???

GREAT Photo!!! Looks like you're having a great time!!!

Making me wish August was around the corner....but the last thing I want to do is rush summer away!... but we love Harmony, probably our favorite ship and can't wait to go again!!!

    CHEERS and Happy Sailing!

  14. What is the time table for the Crawl? A 7 day cruise might be a little to easy.

Maybe not as easy as you think. We were going to do the same thing on the transatlantic (even easier you would think) but, alas, you end up finding a bar/bartender that really suits you (for us it was Wonderland) and the rest is history. Good luck with the challenge!

Agree with Chawkjewel....and even with 7 day cruises...you find a bartender or 3 that you like, and voila - bar crawl challenge is not so easy...

I recall doing this with some dear CC roll call mates from our Allure cruise back in 2011, I compiled the list, handed it out, and well it seemed that while we would try and meet up at a new bar every night for a drink, we always ended up in our favorite one (back then it was the Viking Crown lounge, now Coastal Kitchen) - but in the end, I was the one with the most bar visited - We also had a rule where you had to have a witness... (so you couldn't just check off the whole list)

But, I'm dusting off the list, and seeing if I can do better than I did back in 2011 this summer... and really can't wait!!

Thanks for making me re-think this!!

    CHEERS!
